Hmm, Cheap Trick will be hard to resist, even for a game I haven't played in over a year.

I took a long break from Rock Band, and then started playing again. Bought some Def Leppard, and I believe I will not be able to resist the pull of Cheap Trick.

I'm gonna have so much DLC to buy...

Def? Well, looks like I'll be pulling the drums out earlier than I thought.

One-armed rimshot.

Edit: Sorry for following you around the board, posting replies. I'm like your hype man.

Seriously, though. Even if Rick Allen had his right hand while I'm forced lefty, it would be nice to at least get close to drumming again.

I have birthday money coming in. This means RB3 and a midi adapter. If only I could convince the wife to let me get a set of electronic drums. Have to settle for my keyboard.

I hate to say it, but you may want to wait just a little while. There is a re-release of RB3 coming, along with some new bundles for it. At this point, they aren't saying if the re-released software includes some extra songs (but it is rumored) or has the game patches included (there was a nasty pro-guitar one that wouldn't score you on some songs), but it might be worth holding off until you know the answer - plus you may be able to score a bundle with another instrument.

Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on using Goozex to get the actual game itself, but I may hold off on that if I can get a bunch of extra songs with the new version.

You should also check to make sure your keyboard has a slider bar/function. This is not on the MIDI adapter, and I learned after the fact that my keyboard lacks it, so no bonus power meter. Of course, if you don't care about score, then no problem.

The MIDI adaptor has the little button on the corner that can activate Overdrive with the Guitar, does it not work on Keys?

It does, but I'm talking about the slide bar which allows you to get extra overdrive during held keys. On the MadCats controller this is a little black touch pad near the top, but the MIDI adapter does not have anything, it relies on your MIDI keyboard to have some kind of function to do this, which mine does not.

OK, I haven't been keeping you guys up to date in here, but the Rock Band weekly releases have been really good - I think they are doing better now that they are independent than they did before. That said, I believe Harmonix is making Valentine's Day my favorite holiday, as far as video games go.

Aw hell I'm gonna need another PSN card.

Rick Astley. Awesome.

Is the Mr. Big song the first time Paul Gilbert's making his way to Rock Band? I'm not much of a fan of his music, but he's a damn fine guitarist.

"To be with you" is actually a blast singing with harmony. So much good stuff coming out lately.

Really interesting look at how DLC gets from conception to release:

From Licensing To Release: The Life Of A DLC Pack

All your questions answered! Maybe? Probably.

Just started playing me some RB again, and noticed that they're discontinuing DLC in April. That makes me sad, but... there's a crap ton of stuff available already, so not so very sad.

Well here we go. Final DLC songs on Jan 25.
