I've heard reports of such a thing going ahead. Through a little research I discovered that they have extended there trial accounts with restrictions so people can play for free to an extent.
Was wondering if someone could give me some more information? Hopefully some people no more about this than me.
I believe that the game is 'free' through level 20 now. No trading or holding more than like 1 gold, but it should be serviceable for the 1-20 experience.

I thought this thread was going to be about being free of WoW, a place for WoWaholics to meet.

Up to level 20 on 10 races will give you a fair amount of content to chew through, I'd say not all of it is going to be great content, and it's going to be newbie stuff, but there's worse ways to spend your time.
Preach it!
You bastard, Tanglebones. :)

This. It's not Free to Play, it's more of an unlimited trial edition that lets you play the first 20 levels a whole lot.
