BHA Raids 08.30 - 09.05 *Sun Cancelled*

All your free time are belong to GWJ-A!

Sun
7:30
FL
Tanks: Carg, Cheeto
Heals: Lawk, Rantin, Gurista
DPS: Selika, Jeynsa, Elcam, Act, Grinds

This is the only run I could scrape together so far. Keep posting, and I'll try to get something going on another day this week.

Grinds- heals/rdps (both fail) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, Monday 6-11pm

Will run anything. Would love to get some folks more geared. I need to do my daily quests.

Jeynsa - mDPS
Cindra - Disc Priest

Tues-Sun after 7 server.

Let's kill things. Any day. All week. Until 11P server. The usual deal.

Carganthem, Protection/Retribution. Firelands, or wherever needed. He's geared for it all.

Caprigan, Discipline/Shadow. T11 raids are probably a better idea here than sacrificing him to the Flame God. No, I don't dual-box. These two are on the same account anyway.

Rant- any day but Thursday

Open

Thur, Sun: Anytime.

I suck. Tues/Wed I will be about 8:00-8:15 server before I get home. Do what you will with that I am sorry.

Blueviolets - elemental or resto shaman. Any time next week in the afternoons/evenings.

Carg's getting more gear for me and stuff; it's prolly now just rotations, re-learning add-ons, and efficient bar layouts, spell locations and macros. I'm getting back into the swing of things (tho with some of these spells, it's a bit hard to judge when for max DPS and stuff).

I think with resto I need to learn efficient mana usage - I'm always worried about health that when they get a scratch I feel the need to hit them with greater healing wave. It's also a bit wierd for me because before, I was able to figure out ahead of time how much healing they may need by the time the spell would go off - but somethin's messing that up. Not sure if it's the procs, or if I just haven't healed enough yet or something to get used to it. Maybe it's cuz my computer is faster now than what I had when I was lvl 80 shaman and healing in Naxx? Dunno.

Nope, that's pretty much it.

One thing, though, I rarely if ever, cast surge because of its mana consumption but my haste is good enough to turn HW into a junior version of it.

Also (and this is something I'm working on too), fight the urge to keep people topped off. We don't do that with direct heals, we do it with riptide (or a cheap aoe). GHW is one of the biggest heals in the game when buffed properly so use that when someone is low and try to cut down on the over healing. We have mana tide, but a lot of our stuff is expensive so we need to be as sparing as we can with or heals, we can't spam.

Our tier pieces also allow riptide to get us mana back. Try to time your casts so that riptide is going on 3 targets at all times. It's really hard but that helps us immensely.

Its a bit of everything, really. You kind of have to just get a feel for when to cast what.
The basic rules are, from my perspective:

Remember which tank you're Earthshielding and always keep an eye on that.
Try to always have a Riptide running - its a nice HoT and it gives you 2 stacks of Tidal Waves, which reduces cast time of GHW and adds a healing bonus to your spells. If someone starts taking damage and you dont have Tidal Waves buffs, use this.
Recast Water shield if its not running - extra mana regen.
Target lost a big chunk? (Yellow orange or red on Healbot) Greater Healing Wave.
Target lost a little bit? (Still green on Healbot) - if squishy, healing wave or two should be fine. If not, Healing Surge if its an emergency, otherwise Riptide. **
Three or more people lost health that are relatively close by? Chain Heal.
Lots of people losing damage slowly? Drop Healing Rain, and continue as above.
Tank or someone important losing a lot of health? Use Unleash Elements before GHW.
Oh shizzle, someone's red on healbot really quick? Natures Swiftness then GHW.
Everyone's dropping like flies? Spirit Link Totem.
(Now watch Rant come in and tell me how wrong I am on any of the above )

As for Mana, mana is now a different game than it was in Wrath - it's a lot more harder to come by. Expect to find yourself OOM a lot til you start getting better gear. As Rant told me, also, if your regen rate is pretty low start stacking some spirit. Don't stack spirit over your other important stats though (Int > Haste > Crit | Spirit), and dont be afraid to drop Mana Tide earlier in a fight so the cooldown will be up again sooner.

TL;DR version: Go read and absorb this page

** This one is probably not really true, but YMMV.

well if you feel you can stand me dying a few more time : calliiaa rdps arcane mage / cayle rdps hunter any evenings. would really like to get calliiaa gear better.

Elcameron can raid on Sunday this week.

Gurista will be game starting Sunday 09/04 again. Horsebag will need a couple more weeks.

Actinide- Priest (holy heals or shadow rDPS)

Available any day/time. I'm less than 500 rep away from Honored with the Avengers of Hyjal, so obviously I want to raid Firelands :). Lots of cloth loot (DPS and healing) drops off Shannox, Beth, and Rhyolith, so I'd like to be a part of those kills if possible.

Also available for 4.0 content, as I'm trying to put together my T11 for shadow, since it seems I'm running it more than healing lately.

EDIT: I'm out on Wednesday and Thursday due to the GWJ fantasy football league drafts.

I can go on the not weekend

and tuesday will be difficult

Availability is laaaaaaaaame this week. I have one run so far. C'mon peeps.

People are missing from this thread. Gannon and Zero, I expected. Youko and Shank I didn't. And is Jorrn off this week or something? How can we rate his improved DPS now that he has a sweet hat if he doesn't show up?

Zero is on vacation for another week still.

Can't speak for the others.

I have guests in town that week. I could be available either Tuesday or Thursday but would prefer alt status.

"On the other side of the world", I think Zero said, and Gannon's in Africa for the month. That would be why I expected them to be missing.

I just saw (or, rather, didn't see) missing people and didn't know if they weren't available or if they forgot to post or if they were unable to post, or whatever. If people aren't available, that's cool. Life (or whatever it is we have outside the game) happens. I'm sure it makes life easier for Lawk when he actually knows what everyone's situation is, though.

I just thought I'd throw some names out there and see if we got some responses. Since Shank answered soon after, I claim at least partial success (although it was probably just a total coincidence and I'm deluding myself, since the people who haven't even posted in this thread clearly aren't tracking it).

I'm tracking the thread. I didn't post anything because (a) I'm not looking for a raid this week and (b) I'm not a regular raider. If you want me to post in each week's thread, I'm happy to do so.

As much as I enjoy raiding with y'all, the best I'm going to do is one raid every two or three weeks. A late start plus my early wake-up call means I get only about five hours a sleep on raid nights. Once upon a time 5 hours of rack time was a luxury. Nowadays, it's a good start. Plus, now that HS football season has started, I'm working second shift on Friday nights (after going first shift M-F), and I'm still trying to figure out my sleep schedule so I'm not so damned tired all the time.

P.S. Jorrn looks spiffy in his new hat. Lil' I, however, looks like a cat plushie (or a gnome furry).

You can blame me for Youko not posting.....between work and me leaving for Africa, she is very distraught. I don't blame her....I'm a good catch.

"On the other side of the world", I think Zero said

Edinburgh currently!

oh my Edinburgh.... haven't been there in years. enjoy Zero Scotland is beautiful. ~Cayle~

I will go there one day and get back in touch with my Scottish roots.....and I'm rocking colors, kilt, and clan badge baby!!!

I can raid on Thursday but will need to quit at 10pm est.

Why u gotta call me out, i was hoping to go unnoticed >.>...........

Work scheduled has been lame, I close every night that I work... and since Mr. I-am-going-to-Africa over here is making me take him to the airport on Wednesday, I had to work Thursday instead.....-sigh- he should just take a cab...big baby.

I can do Wednesday after I drop his ass off... Make it 7:30 on the safe side in case I get lost... lol

Sunday I may or may not have other engagement, I'll be a backup.

I do not know this person.

Err and forgot to say I continue to have no life so I'll be around whenevers.

If we decide to do older content on Thursday and we're missing a meatshield my pally is available too - isn't really geared spectacularly but with lots of the 365 Molten Front items helping out she's not too bad. Still haven't braved any troll heroics with her though.

(Ugh, failing the audit - need to fix that.)

I'll be around on Sunday, but I'll either be ducking into air vents, feeling all ghost'n'stuff or just keep rolling on the floor, waiting for my repeater to reload.
