GWJ MADDEN 11 LEAGUE SEASON 2.0 FORUM (XBOX 360)

Grats to Spynavy. I dont care enough to try and play this game lol. We locked up near the end of the first and I just can't keep up with his super blitz. It's clearly an AI exploit and I can't play against people like that. I know you're a cool guy but come on, that blitz is clearly manufactured with audibles that cannot be adjusted to by the offensive line. So kudos to you for figuring out.

Your offense though is run like the real Colts though, in a shootout, you'd definitely win.

I was shocked by the draw play you ran off the bat, LMAO!

Actually you adjusted fine to the blitz. You are one of the few people who have blocked the RB into the gap. You also threw a touchdown on that play. There is no AI exploit it is simple gap football and rushing more than you block or overloading one side. You block 5 and I bring 6 through the A or B gaps depending on what is vulnerable in your formation (where your RB and TE are lined up usually). It's a stock play out of the 4-3 and 4-6 as well as the Nickel. It's a Cover 0 formation and high risk, high reward. Occasionally, my fast DT will jail break or whip his O lineman, but the LB is usually the QB killer. No different than the Nickel 1-5-5 you chose to run except you enhanced it by moving players around etc... some people choose coverage, some choose pressure, I choose pressure. I do use the Playmaker controls in many of my defenses - mostly man align and shifting coverage to seams or sidelines. I will also shift players to cover gaps or there are glaring holes in run defense. I am sorry you got frustrated with the pick before you quit, but you panicked and tossed a quick pass and I took it. That wasn't even a blitz it was cover 2 man, but you thought it was coming and had previously been throwing quick pass after quick pass so I just played simple man and stepped in front of it. The blitz is really the only counter to that nano style passing where the QB basically takes the snap and throws a zip to the receiver, so is that an AI exploit as well? Madden is chess and adjustments, but you can't complain about one thing while gleefully taking advantage of another. Again my apologies on your frustration. Perhaps Madden 12 will deliver a better experience. If you change your mind and would like to play again - I will hold off on playing the AI.

Honestly, that 1-5-5 and the players moving......button mashing. Seriously, just tried to make you overthink stuff and it ALMOST worked.

Nah, I totally understand what you were doing, the problem with it is the AI doesn't pick it up. It literally lets you waltz through regardless of what I did. My offense strategy was to hike and throw and even then I was getting hit before I could take 2 steps back. You are very skilled at Madden sir. I will not take that away from you at all.

Actually the AI does pick it up. I will explain:

Typical scenario - you are blocking 5 and I bring 6. The LT will pick up Freeney, the LG will pick up the right DT, but now the Center must decide to pick up the left DT or one of the two blitzing LBers, the RG will usually pick up one as will the RT, but there is still a free LBer and he is on a shared gap. Since your RB is running a route he isn't there to block so QB becomes pudding. Now shifting your lines protection scheme provides different results and who gets pressure. Having Freeney, Mathis and Howard along with the pass rushing LBer I drafted makes this a vicious setup. That is wholly intentional, but it can be countered with a RB left to block or a TE. However, 3 and 4 WR sets are especially vulnerable because I can overload strong or weak side depending on tendency. The 2 TE set that Belichick ran for Brady last year because the O-line was porous is the max protect scheme and it slows the rush, but is vulnerable to a middle overload and a delayed leaker blitz. I can also get pressure from outside the DEs, but that tends to take two long because the blitz angles are goofy. Again frustrating, but taken straight from watching some of the best defenses in the world. It is designed to take players out of their comfy zone and adjust their game plan, simple football 101 and I use it when coaching youth football as well (if only I had a little Freeney and Mathis ). Strategy, formation and gap assignment fundamentals, not AI exploit.

lol new rule spy has to play with back ups... lol COngrats again SPy!!! check your mail

Congrats Spy. As if the result was ever in doubt. I would like to point out that my 20 point defeat was the closest anybody got to Spy And I assume that Mandenhall finished up as best rusher in the league. Yeah for me. Still gutted about my playoff performance though.

if it helps...I beat the bills just as bad...

Ha well then you shouldn't have a problem being an under 80 rating team like spy and I will be in madden twelve should you

Yeah, thinking about rolling with the Chiefs or the Rams. The Browns are intriguing as well, they may me my underdog of choice. I played them in our draft league and they were sharp.

Wait, so I get rid of Zell and get Spy instead!
