It's not really leaving early. Not for this particular one. Think of this S&T as just dinner and getting a hold of everyone, not a full night of gaming. You go back and do that at the convention.
The one being setup at Doc's house on Sunday night after things close is a traditional S&T where we all hang out and shiv aliens until his wife is sick of us.
Just received our final confirmation for our Condo rental for PAX weekend! I can't wait, I want to be on vacation NOW.
Do we still not have a venue? I have the next few days off and I think I'll be spending it helping whoever is doing that or working the beat to find us a place near the convention center area.
Now that my brother and I are moved into our new place in mill creek we are looking at how to get there during the weekend. We used to just take the 255 from brick yard and I think we might just drive down there and park my car there unless somebody is coming my way and wouldnt mind car pooling? Or I can drive, I have 3 spots in the back of my car for folks if there is anybody that wants a ride, just pitch in for gas/parking. Hit me up in a PM or here and we can work something out.
Edwin, contact me if you're willing to help as even with my "experience" in a restaurant I can't get anyone to call me back for a venue.
I had a friend with considerable connections call around downtown Seattle, and he couldn't find a venue willing to seat 50 without a down payment. :/
It's my first time in Seattle during PAX and I was REALLY looking forward to a GWJ S&T, so let me know if you need any help Aendiev. If a venue can't be secured, perhaps just a bar meet up would work?
The problem isn't with not getting a bar, a bar would be fantastically easy-- but I believe a few people might be bringing their children by so I can't just find a bar and crash it like we did at Pax East.
Has there been any indication of what the down payment would be? People who know they're going could pitch in $10 or so and we could just track it for the check splits later. If that's the difference between having a place to go and not, we can all drum up a deposit between us.
The PAX 2011 schedule is up. Why not heckle Podunk at the Serpent Theatre on Sunday from 4-5pm?
Got mine yesterday too.
Bah, where's mine!
According to the Fedex tracking information, my badge is being shipped all the way from Connecticut. I live in Vancouver, PAX is a few hours south in Seattle, but my badge is on the opposite side of the continent. What the hell?

Mine is also in CT, stuck there due to "Missing Commercial Invoice - Contact customer service".
Do I have to contact customer service? What the crap.

How did you get tracking information? I don't see it on the registration page, I just have a registration code.

I got a shipment notification e-mail from FedEx yesterday with the tracking number.

Mine has the same thing, no idea what's going on.
I got mine yesterday. I'm so excited.
That really is weird. I pick up my badges at the will-call on thursday, never thought of having it shipped.
It was an option you could check when you registered. I figured it would be a better fit since I had one to pass out to a friend-- that way they couldn't lose it.
Okay, I did just get mine, and yes apparently they're shipped from CT. Which I found rather odd too, but maybe due to the fact they have about 100,000 to mail out... they hire a firm? Anyway if you got an email, I would definitely contact whatever number is in your email and ask them about it.

They don't ship the badges outside of the US
They do, I think you have to use Fedex instead of USPS though. I don't remember the exact details.
Edit: Found a worthy recipient in Podunk, so my pass is no longer available.
----
I apologize for skimming, but it turns out I won't be able to attend PAX this year
I did buy a pass already, though. So... is it possible for me to give my pass to another Goodjer in need? If so, those of you in this thread seem most likely to know who might need it.
Looks like they sorted out the fedex problems, my badge is now slowly making its way across the continent.
So it looks like my brother and I will be driving friday and/or saturday, anybody want a ride home that is on the east side? We live in mill Creek but anywhere in the bothell/woodinville/lynnwood area is cool. He wants to go to the concerts as do I. Hit me up and if you are driving too we can all save gas and parking and dare I even say the enviroment with one less car there.
Believe me, they know we're coming.
