Batman: Arkham City Catch-All

I'd like to know which ones I get for Amazon or Steam. Probably won't buy from anywhere else. A retailer I trust is worth a lot more than some shiny bonus.

If you go to the AC site, they list the places offering pre-order right now. Clicking on those will tell you who's offering what. Amazon is 10 dollars in credit and a comic of some kind.

If the CE was offering something like all the pre-order skins, plus some bonus challenge rooms, plus the usual fair, I might jump in on that. I'd rather have six Batmans available for my challenge rooms than an art book.

Looks like it's being updated. I checked Amazon before and the only mention was the $10 gift card, nothing about the comic. Now it lists it. But also there's no pre-order bonus listed for the PC version, nor do you get the $10 credit. Heck the PC version isn't even listed on the official site under the Amazon (or Best Buy) link(s), only under Walmart.

And then looking at the Best Buy one it actually says the Robin mode for challenge maps include not just a Robin skin, but special weapons specific to that mode. Sounds like BB is getting one helluva bonus, while some of the others are just a skin.

And the Gamestop one is an extra challenge map.

As of right now, some of those skins I posted are exclusive to New Zealand and Australia, so surely there will be more news coming soon about these things. No one likes those countries enough to give them exclusives for such an important event as Batman: Arkham City.

I'm sure it will all be released as DLC afterwards anyway. Those skins aren't that impressive either. I'm not sure... they just seem a bit off.

Yeah, only the ones that offer a different body shape (or chin shape in the case the TAS one) are really anything special. The rest might as well be fan-made skins.

Sure, the belts and details fit better on these skins... but I defiantly agree they don't seem all that great or must-have-ish.

nel e nel: You might want to spoiler that for the people on media blackout. It's a bit much, maybe, but I figure why not be a nice lad about it.

AFAIK, Robin will only be playable in the challenge rooms a la Joker in AA. Also:

?? They are all unique shapes (although Earth One and 1970s are very similar).

I spoilered it, but it does seem a bit odd to be on media blackout, yet still check a discussion thread on the internet no? (seeing as there are tons of other labeled links and videos in this thread?)

Yeah, but it's all story unrelated. I don't disagree, really, especially as we get closer to release, but thus far it's been entirely gameplay and exultation.

Edit: I guess it's fair to set this as a crossover point, what with the storytastic revelation of what you posted. I don't know how we'd go about doing that?

Perhaps making a proclamation of sorts. I always enjoy proclamations. Proclaiming things and whatnot.

Only one that somewhat interests me is the Batman Beyond one.

Same for me - that looks badass.

Are those skins only usable in challenge rooms? That makes them a lot less interesting.

Skins in general are pretty uninteresting. Unless I'm hittin' them! /90srap

Damn, didn't see that. Pretty much don't care now.

As the one true Batmanne, I prefer the DKR and TAS versions.

It's come to this: a guide to the pre-orders.

And the only one I am interested in (Batman: Beyond) isn't available in US.

Madness!

*sigh*

I'm kinda digging the vibe from classic 70's batman. The Robin Skin looks....dumb.

Do what I do.. ignore it completely and pre-order from Steam or Amazon. The content is usually so superficial that it shouldn't matter that much to a person looking to play the game.

It looks like the only pre-order bonuses for US customers are Robin from Bestbuy, the Joker map from GameStop, and $10 credits from Amazon and Walmart.

This!

If you keep jumping through hoops, they will keep using them to control how and where you spend your money. Now, cheaper prices, or credits from stores you frequent are worth jumping through a hoop, usually. I bought Batman: AA at Toy R' Us becasue they had an awesome deal. I never buy games there, but it worked for this.

Holy Predictable Outcomes, Batman! Batman pre-order skins will release as DLC!!!

Probably just in time to 1000 the GOTY edition.

Guess I got with Amazon then, and can use the $10 I save to buy them as DLC.

Although, I still haven't decided on PS3 or PC. AA sure looked good on my big screen... but not bad on my PC either.

Hey at least I'm trying to make a choice this time instead of buying three copies.

Wonder when Steam will allow us to pre-order.

What's the world coming to when you need a pre-order guide?

BlackSabre wrote:

Or what pre-order they'll give!

I swear... they should have never let the Riddler handle the pre-order bonuses. :p

All this crap is making me think I'll wait and not get it at launch. I'll play it, but maybe in January on a big sale or something. I'm getting that way more and more with single player games.
