E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy catch all

Yes. Yes they did. There are a limited number of genes so there are some character builds that are very hard to make, too, since each has a bonus and a "malus."

I'm in from all the chatter and the trailers, anyone want to create a group try some of this co-op?

Now I am stuck. I am supposed to find some guy named Akmal but I shot everyone to death. Stuck behind a super locked door that I can't hack. Time to stop playing and wait for a patch.

This thread really died off. Are people still playing it, or did you all drop it like a stone?

Like Strangeblades, I decided to wait for a patch, as I read they were fixing a fair amount of things.

I've been playing it and really enjoying it, bugs and all. The game is just full of interesting, crazy stuff. Like having your brain hacked by an ATM, making people explode with your katana, or upgrading your cybernetic legs to the point that cars explode when you jump on them.

If you can handle the bugs (which I hope are soon to be patched out) and absurdity, there is a compelling game here. I think this might be my underground GOTY. It snuck out from nowhere, was only $14, and I'm having a blast with it. If they patch the bugs out, and maybe tighten the translation, I'd unconditionally recommend this to everyone. As it is, I'd recommend it to people who can handle wonky games.

Though in general I think waiting for the patch is a good idea.

I still cannot get past the opening room till the patch comes out. I still have interest in playing when I can.

/sighs

I stopped playing. I really did. Then I went and played again. I rolled a new guy, McKnight, and in no time flat I was level 31 in five hours. I found a sweet spot on the Mars map where two Deus Ex Machina giants spawn every 30 seconds and a Hunter-Killer from Terminator pops in every minute. Racked up 10 levels or so and $500,000 and change.

I don't know why I didn't wear heavy armor my first play through. Heavy is the way to go, plus cyber armored torso, cyber armored head and super-jump legs! I can jump so high I take damage from the fall! :O

There are still bugs bugging me, but the best thing is I have got better at hacking.

Now I am a walking tank. I stand my ground and let the bullet and rocket rain fall on and around me while I return fire. Awesome. I feel like a Space Marine!

Anyone else up for another 4-pack?

Well I'm up to try some of the co-op...I'm still trying to get used to mechanics...

How exactly do I heal my health anyway?

To start with, one of the psychic skills lets you convert ammo boxes into health, you should start with it.

One of the research projects you start with is the medkit, once you research it you can equip the medkit from the armory (it looks like a syringe), it is reusable so you only need one. Left click heals someone else and right click heals you. The longer you have it out, the more it will heal. Also, if your medical skill is too low there is a small chance that it will kill whoever you use it on (including yourself) every time you use it.

Also, if you have one of the status effects like bleeding, you need to perform maintenance, which is "V" by default. But it won't heal you at all.

Well, I beat the game. Interesting ending which I won't spoil here. If anyone wants it spoiled just Google EYE Divine Cybermancy ending.

It got a little hard at the end. Good thing I had level 6 in all of my cyber stuff. I also dropped the difficulty down to nothing for a few minutes as I was getting wasted by a

Now play it again (and again)! There are 3 known endings. The developers have talked about a true ending as well, but I haven't heard of anyone getting it.

I am all for returning to the hardcore and difficult roots of PC shooters, but there is no way I am playing this game again unless there is new content to run through. I've already put 40+ hours into this title! :O

And I already Googled the ending(s) and you're right: no one has found the true ending of this game.

All in all a cool and weird experience proving that a good wrapper, that being the style the developers chose, can elevate enjoyment.

No bugs for me after a little over a hour. I call that a win.

Also, I rather liked the fact that my first two achievements were for being hacked and killing a helpless creature. Hey, I thought they might give me money.

Did they patch it? I have been looking at this, but then I saw all the complaints about bugs.

Not yet, but the developers say that the first patch is going to be released in the next few days. No patch list yet, so we'll see how much it clears up.

Hmmm. Maybe they will have another sale when the patch comes out? I will wait and see.

When did they have a sale? Unless you meant the 10% off thing.

Anyway, 3 hours in and still no bus. This game isn't great, I'll give you that, but it has a lot of interesting, if obtuse, concepts going for it. I like it, but I like this type of game.

If they could fix the AI I think the game'd be a lot better, but even in the first few missions you're given the choice of going about things in different ways. I like that.

I don't like how you heal though. Stupid.

Oh, and the religious/kabbalistic references are pretty cool.

I use psi healing a lot which seems to involve pentagrams and eating bullets. There is a syringe that you can research that is full of health juice but overuse will hurt you. It's interesting that you can have your internal systems weld a broken bone but overall health must have external treatments. Eh. I'll just roll with it. I can blame idiosyncrasies on being "lost in translation."

I bought this game because I was unsure if I was ready to take the plunge on Deus Ex and wanted a back-up just in case. Instead, this convinced me I need Deus Ex like I need oxygen.

Yes, that's the healing that I think is stupid. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so damn finnicky about having to be pointed at the direct center of the item you're going to use. Not very helpful in a firefight.

And yeah, I like a lot of what this game is doing, but it's just my holdover until the much more polished Deus Ex is released. (I say that having actually played enough of HR to know it's polished.)

Okay, the first patch is out. The developers are working on other patches, but there is no estimate for their release yet:

Looks like they've made it a little easier to get into.

I look forward to giving it another try.

How is this game now? I was thinking about picking it up during the Steam Sale for $10.

Can someone enable me on this? It looked nice when I first saw it, but I'm not so sure now. Help please?

This is basically all you need to know...

...and this is why I am passing on it.

Yes, don't buy a game because Brad's playing it poorly.

Edit: Btw, I'm not saying you should buy the game, it's ... indie and could use some more time in the oven, but I wouldn't use Brad playing a game live as direction on anything. "What am I doing?" "What's that?" "Where'd that come from?" Dude makes some poor videos.

Regardless of how well or poorly he's playing the game, I feel that one of the points he was making is true - that the game suffers from information overload without sufficiently explaining it. Not to mention the insane line of sight that the enemies have with which to kill you.

Besides, I played Deus Ex: HR for about 20 hours (didn't finish, but enjoyed it), so I would recommend buying that for half price (or less) instead, even if that means waiting a while to get it at that price. That said, EYE:DC is currently $2.50 on Steam, so even if you dislike/hate it, you might get your money's worth.

Guess I've got some catching up to do in this thread. Goodjers adding to my pile, yay for the holidays.
