Last night I saw that there was 9 people in so far. Who is missing?

ZellbrigeN26 (Marshall)
HansomB1derful (UCLA)
Omega Girr (South Florida)

Omega won't be back until tonight or tomorrow. If Zellbrige signs in today, that just leaves Hansom. I will PM him in a couple of minutes.

*EDIT*
I see Zell already signed up. 10 of 12 ready.

Did we make a formal decision about nixing playbooks or a gentlemen's agreement about not going overboard with them?

i am in and good to go.

FYI: I am horrible at offense!! I need practice time.

I played 3 seasons as a D-Coordinator (I had a gaming weekend with my wife gone). Got hired as the D-Coordinator at BC after 2 years at Hawaii, and I'm now the Head Coach at Northwestern.

I beat FCS Midwest in my first Head Coaching game (and the first time I tried offense in the game), then the only TD I could score against Vandy was on defense in the 4th Quarter, eventually losing 21-27!

I'm happy it's hard though, I've been waiting for a realistically difficult game (minus the glitchy stuff) forever.

I'll get better about reading coverages, etc.. I can't simply line up and run my Power-O's this year. I'm stoked for our season!!

lol...i was looking at the ratings for the teams...everyone has A's or B's except Marshall and Hawaii...

Philadelphia (AP) -- On the eve of a new college football season, all eyes or on Piscataway, New Jersey, where Kush has been named commissioner of the newly formed Big East (16) and Big 10 conferences.

"It's really a dream come true," Kush said. "Screw boundary lines. We truly are coast-to-coast."

One new Big East coach, Jayhawker from SMU, didn't mix words when talking about the new college football power shift.

"Being fired from Kansas taught me a lot," Jay said. "For one thing: Michigan sucks."

Michigan has now surpassed Notre Dame as the most hated team in the country. Head Coach LeroyOG remains confused behind all the negativity however.

"I really don't understand it. It's frustrating," Leroy said. "At least we aren't Northwestern."

All in all this is shaping up to be a landmark college football season. With an Orange Bowl berth to the winners, and potentially a National Championship shot in their sites; this Big East and Big 10 season will be one for the ages.

Airicc, nice article. That's awesome! Almost woke up my wife laughing.

I think we will go with a gentleman's agreement not to abuse custom playbooks.

I am going to roll to Week 1 before I leave for work.
THIS LEAGUE IS NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!!!!

*Edit*
Just kidding!!!! Forgot I have to modify the schedules! That might have to wait until I get home from work at 5:30pm ET. Aside from 1 or 2 human vs Xbox games, everyone is on a Week 1 bye, and Notre Dame kicks off vs Michigan St. Good luck gentlemen!!!

So, Fire and I play week one? Or is that week 2?

What looks good for you this week, Fire?

Week 1, so when I roll tonight, you and Fire are up at bat. You might have some company though. Turns out (and someone pointed this out before, good thing I paid attention, lol) that Week 15 is the Conference Championship weeks. So Week 15 is not open. So I need to reconfigure the schedules.

AWESOME!!! Which didn't matter, since I didn't have time this morning to do it, so I will have time to go through this morning and come up with new possible matchups, and it should take me about 10 minutes when I get home to update the schedules. I think we will have a good number of Week 1 matchups now.

I'm gonna have to see if I can run out of thee shotgun like this. Maybe I will revisit the Run and Shoot after all.

You know, for a commissioner, you don't seem to know much about college football.

I'm kinda glad that we aren't the only match-up. I don't think I can play tonight, and I wouldn't want to hold everyone up.

LMAO. G-nuff, when are you available? I can't tonight but am open the rest of the week after 8:30pm EST.

I corrected that for you Counselor
I know Week 15 is Championship Week, but in the NCAA11 game, it was 2 separate weeks.

Good, I have no pressure to get the schedules done tonight, lol (But I will). Tennessee hosts Stanford as well in Week 1, so we'll have 3 games in Week 1.

*EDIT*
I am going to add 1 more game to Week 1: UCLA at Marshall

Hansome is on vacation starting the 13th, so I will give him a Week 4 bye week to keep things rolling, and I will move his Week 4 matchup to Week 1.

So this is what Week 1 should look like now:

UCLA at Marshall
Stanford at Tennessee
Notre Dame at Michigan St
Northwestern at Michigan

Please note, there may be more Human vs XBox games added to the Week 1 schedule.

LMAO. G-nuff, when are you available? I can't tonight but am open the rest of the week after 8:30pm EST.

We can try for Wednesday night at 8:30.

Also, I'll be out of town from Aug 26th to Sept 1st.

I hate Michigan State.

Counselor: Most nights look good this week if we can play late. With enough warning, I can probably even squeeze in a 10 pm slot, although that's always dependent on both boys being asleep, which is rare at that time. My kids are too much like me, in that they're night owls.

How about 8:45pm WED? That'll give me time to get some food in front of me.

Also to note, I am going to try to fill in your other non-conference games with your school's actual rivals.

I will get you a bye week during Week 6, that should be during that week. If not, you're surrounded by XBox opponents

I will be gone Sept 10-17, which should cover my Week 9 bye. I should have XBox connectivity, but it's not gaurenteed, and I might be too drunk to do anything (OBX). I will give up control until I get down there and confirm. (Confirm Internet Connectivity and Alcohol Consumption)

NCAA 12 does not like Tennessee. 3 road games against human opponents. Bring back the old Commish!

At least the Commissioner didn't stiff you on home games, by putting you home in Week 1, and then giving you only 4 home games the rest of the way for recruiting purposes........................I forget who did that.

But there honestly was nothing I can do about that sir. However, I can promise you to get 2-3 human home games next season. I am taking certain things into account when I make future schedules.

I don't care. I am just busting your chops because it is fun.

It's the first day of school for me (as a counselor not a student), but I'm checking in on my lunch break! I'm excited for the season to begin! Let the trash talking start!

Working on the schedules now, should only be another 15-20 minutes. UCLA vs Marshall will remain a Week 4 game. It's a conference game, they are in different divisions, but the same conference, so I can't move that. Hope it doesn't f*ck Hansome's schedule.

It should at least buy him dinner...

Drumroll please.......................

NEW THREAD HERE!!!

So, I was thinking about custom playbooks and decided to put down my philosophy for my playbook, that way folks could have some idea of what they were up against since it probably says "spread" in the loading screens:

Offense: My offense is really more weighted to a one-back scheme than the standard spread. There are a number of shotgun plays in my playbook, but I tend to run one back the majority of the time. I have three I-formation sets that I occasionally use, as well (one of these being a very heavy line for short yardage stuff). In fact, this is the way Notre Dame really played at the end of last season. They had a freshman at QB and two very good TEs, so they ran a lot of 2 TE, 1 HB sets as well as some I formation stuff. A lot of the editing here was to get rid of some of the ridiculously poor running plays out of the shotgun and replace those with plays that emphasize a strong offensive line and one cut running.

Defense: My defense is based on the 3-4, but with good use of 4 DL sets for nickel and dime. During nickel situations, you'll see heavy use of the 4-2-5, as well. There is a single 4-3 formation. This is for when I'm getting pounded on the ground and need some extra heft (cf., my game against MSU). Here I largely tried to get rid of some of the most dangerous blitzes (which lead to big plays for the offense) and some zone plays I never use. I added in the single 4-3 set on top of the standard 3-4 defense.
