GWJ BCS League - NCAA 12 (360)

I'd prefer real names, but auto is cool with me.

I think auto names is a go. Worst case, we can play one season, and if they fix the naming issue, we can revisit if we want to start over with real names.

All I want is QB #2 from Ohio State to be gone.

I can't wait to see who is in my conference and division.

Technically, once the league starts, we can edit our player's names manually. That won't mess with the tendencies.

Are you sure about that?

I'm pretty sure because we dont have access to anything but player name, size, and number after the season starts.

I'm running an offline Dynasty, so I will give this a try. But I have avoided making any edit. i would love to have Zach Line tearing up defenders n stead of Larue McNeal.

By the way, I played my first two games with slightly modified sliders from what I posted last night. I lost 24-22 to A&M, although it took a hell of a comeback to get close, and missing a two-point conversion doomed me. I then beat UTEP 17-9 in game I moved the ball, but failed to cash in repeatedly.

But I through ZERO INTs over the two games. I have to believe that having so many LBs with a coverage tendency has really negatively affected the passing game. Getting them back to balanced and hard hitting makes it all work so much better, in my opinion. Both games were just fun as hell.

So it may be time to move the INT sliders up a notch. Anyone else playing with these sliders on unnamed or generic rosters?

We may want to move up the INTs slinder to 35-40. Noticed too many wide open int drops.

Ran a test league to see how it would run. I ran a coordinator league, so it actually won't let you play defense if you're an offensive coordinator. I figured it would just pick the plays for you. Interesting.

I don't think I actually know the names of any UCLA players anyway.

I'd be in the same boat, but having run SMU in the other league, I'm pretty familiar with their roster right now.

It is interesting to see how the players progressed just based on the ratings they had last year and this year. I have a MLB that turned into a total beast that took two seasons just to become good enough to start in last year's game. Zach Line is much more realistic, although he still has some awesome break tackle and truck ratings.

I would rather EA run the numbers on players based on how players were projected from year to year in their games, and then apply a formula that randomly made players better or worse each year based on how often players do move up or down, than give us an opening rating that only gets better with each season. They have all of the information they need to create this formula.

I like that Kansas' QBs are rated far worse this year. Well, not enough to take them in the league.

I'm thinking strictly head coach league, and I'm not sure I like the idea of allowing people to sim their games online, since it's an added cost, and we all won't have the option, since I don't plan on spending extra money to play a video game

I havent bought anything for the game so it's no biggie for me.

I, too, vote for this as a head coach league. I'd vote we have a gentlemen's agreement not to sim defense unless we're way ahead on some scrub team (like Michigan, if they were controlled by the CPU).

I agree fully with the head coach thing for this league. I love playing defense and would have picked D-Coordinator if we did a coordinator dynasty. I do love trying to establish the run on offense as well.

Didn't make the roster on this one, but if I did I would certainly vote Head Coach. Also, I am on a lot so if anyone would like to get a game and practice etc... Just msg me in game.

Also, there are a few guys in this league that are playing in the top 25 league that haven't picked their team yet - please see details in OP of that thread.

OK, here is the rough draft of the conference structure:

PLAN A
Big 10 (North)
LeroyOG (Michigan) 5-star
Firesloth (Notre Dame) 5-star
TheCounselor (Michigan State) 4-star

Big 10 (South)
Big Hoppa (TCU) 5-star
Jayhawker (SMU) 3-star
Omega Girr (South Florida) 3-star

New Conference (East)
Shag26 (Tennessee) 4-star
Gdawg27 (Northwestern) 3-star
Kush15* (Rutgers) 3-star

New Conference (West)
ZellbrigeN26 (Marshall) 2-star
airicc8 (Hawaii) 2-star
HansomB1derful (UCLA) 2-star

Commissioner's Notes:

-Notre Dame, Michigan, and Michigan St will be together, since that is a very natural fit
-Tried to keep all the 2-star schools together, but might go in a different direction.
-The "New Conference" will have a different name, as will the Big 10.
-I am going to add some 4-5 star schools to the "New Conference", to keep the prestige up
-The "Big 10" will have 16 schools, the "New Conference" will have 14 schools
-#1 school in each conference will play each other in the Orange Bowl. #2 and #3 schools will play each other in another bowl
-Posting a "Plan B" structure as well in another post

Looks good.

Plan B

Big 10 (North)
LeroyOG (Michigan) 5-star
Firesloth (Notre Dame) 5-star
TheCounselor (Michigan State) 4-star

Big 10 (South)
Big Hoppa (TCU) 5-star
Jayhawker (SMU) 3-star
Omega Girr (South Florida) 3-star

New Conference (East)
Shag26 (Tennessee) 4-star
ZellbrigeN26 (Marshall) 2-star
Kush15* (Rutgers) 3-star

New Conference (West)
Gdawg27 (Northwestern) 3-star
airicc8 (Hawaii) 2-star
HansomB1derful (UCLA) 2-star

-This structure is a little better geographically, but I didn't want to mix a 4-star school with a 2-star school
-Everyone will get 3 human opponents (2 division opponents, 1 outside the conference)
-Might give the 5-star schools an extra human opponent. If I do, Tennessee will also get an extra opponent. I will need a 4th team for an extra game, and since Counselar has the harder division, Shag's 4-star team will get the extra game. Not in stone, still contemplating.

Thanks for all the hard work. This is fun to see in action. I'm a few days away from finally getting home to fire up the game!

..And for the record, Hawaii plans on becoming and elite 4-5 star school within a few seasons, so they aren't worried about having 4 or 5 star teams in conference!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh, wait, you were serious. This is all very akward...........................

It will be even more awkward if I post consecutive 1-11 seasons and the computer fires me. THAT would be awesome, if we made it possible to get fired!! haha

Hey Firesloth, figured you'd appreciate this:

Why? Michigan owns Notre Dame no matter who is QB

Until Notre Dame rolls into the Big House this year, and drops the hammer.

They'll drop their hammer, shorts, and undies because Michigan is going to have non-consensual sex with their butts and faces! [/Raffi]

Everything looks good to me. I get back into town on the night of the 31st. So i will be good to go then.
