Saints Row The Third Catch-All

I played SR2 as a homicidal, British mime with a 4 foot purple mohawk and a penchant to wonder when these MFs were gonna stop wasting his time. Oh, and switching to Ride of the Valkyries when you got in the attack helicopter to start blowing crap up was Epic.

And now I want to play it again... anyone up for SR2 co-op on 360?

I think the man-a-pult is exclusive to the Genki pack. Gamestop is advertising the Genki bonus too, so hopefully it's for all pre-orders. Though knowing Gamestop they might have swung some sort of exclusivity BS on that, too.

You guys know Gamestop has an exclusive pre-order bonus for Uncharted 3 that lets you turn into a swarm of spiders? WTF?

That's a pretty lame move IMO, touting the man-a-pult in a gameplay video and then making it preorder only.

Currently, I'm a super buff guy with a five-o'clock shadow, a Russian mustache, with a Sarah Palin bun, in a pink summer dress, and high heels. He's tough, he's gangsta, but he wants to feel pretty while doing it.

If you need me, I'll be huddled over in the corner, not sleeping for at least a week.

I um... well...

Why do I see this game being featured on Fox News in the near future?

Steam is now advertising the Genki pack as a pre-order bonus. No word on any "pass" or DLC missions so I'm guessing that's a THQ thing.

Pre-ordered on Steam.

It won't. It's not a high profile game and it's coming out the same week as a ton of other (bigger) games. The only way this gets on the news is if some parent buys it for their child and walks in on them playing the game.

I kept getting an error 503: service unavailable. Only when I'm logged in to Steam, oddly enough. If I log out and use the above link I can get to it just fine. Log in, and the storefront is as far as I get, both on the website and through the client. Adding it to my cart before logging in worked fine.

I heard/read that the free DLC "pass" thing was only for the first 3000 pre-orders made through THQ, which have surely been gone since probably 24 hours after the offer started, which was several days ago I think.

Anyway, all I really wanted was the man-a-pult (on PC version), so I just pre-ordered on Steam. The octopus gun and leisure stunt suit are just icing on the cake.

Yeah, I was tempted to wait and see if anyone offers up any other pre-order bonuses but I've recently come to see the true value in being able to download any of my Steam games from any computer.

I quote from GamesTM, issue 109, page 61:

Volition has elaborated on one of the more 'moral' of questions Saints Row: The Third will propose, for example--whether to sell back a yacht-full of prostitutes or deliver the floating gentlemen's club to the Saints hideout for a hefty gang morale boost.

It's all just so damn beautiful. I don't know what else to say.

By the way, I bought Red Faction: Armageddon during the Steam sale and played it all the way through. It is a rock-solid port, it looks like Volition's in-house work (they contracted out for the PC port of Saints Row 2 and Red Faction: Guerrilla, both had problems) does good work. Since they are handling the PC port of Saints Row 3 the same way, things are looking pretty good.

Purchased!

That was pretty funny.

Wow. You guys see that shotgun around 1:08? How many barrels does that thing have?

NSFW, but if you're in this thread, you knew that already.

:O.......

I believe the phrase "Oh my god I had my mouth agape for the last 8 minutes" sums up my reaction.

I remember Shaundi was voiced by Eliza Dushku in the last game. Doesn't sound like her anymore.

I think they said in one interview that they've reworked Shaundi a bit. Maybe that includes a new VA? I believe you can see her in the "Power" trailer, punching the hell out of someone.

Given that she got taken out by a scrawny DJ in Saint's Row 2, that definitely seems a bit out of character.

Too much . . . awesome . . . blacking . . . out . . .

The guy voicing the Protagonist in the gameplay trailer sounds like Troy Baker.

YEAH! BADASS!! YEAH!!!

Great video from Comic Con.

The skydiver gameplay reminded me of NOLF.

Some un-ironic booing here:

Consumables? Why?

They likely just mean non-gameplay dlc, such as the clothing packs that were in SR2.

EDIT: hopefully... Worse things come to mind.

I don't know. When I think "consumables" in gaming, I think, "10 minutes of double money, one use per purchase."

For MMOs, sure, but a largely single-player, console-centric game? I'm too afraid to make that leap of logic.
