Discover a modern god game where nature is the star: From Dust, the latest original concept by Eric Chahi.

Behold the beauty of a primitive world pulsing with life and face the might of nature.

Beware the danger of a world that is constantly changing under your command.

Control the destiny of a tribe struggling to survive and help it recover its ancestors’ lost powers.

Immerse yourself in a world as exotically beautiful as it is dangerous. A universe where Nature reclaims what is Hers; and you are your people’s only chance of survival.

From Dust now has a release date, July 27 for 1200 MS points on XBLA, I guess it's exclusive there first. It's coming to PSN and PC as well

(I didn't see an existing thread for it)

Beware the danger of a world that is constantly changing under your command.

I can't read this without imagining opening a closet and having a box fall on my head.

Waaaaaant. I hope there's a sandbox mode. Pun intended.

I wonder how Peter Molyneaux would react to this. Would he see his legacy and smile, then hammer out an e-mail about how it needs more dogs? Or would he remember his glory days, realize how long it's been since he's been free, and weep softly till Microsoft reminded him that he's on the clock (he's always on the clock... always...)?

This looks amazing. I'm curious how it will control with mouse and keyboard versus a gamepad.

It will probably be easier to make penis-shaped mountains with the m/k.

So excited for a modern godgame.

Is there any gameplay footage out there?

The way you do terraforming by grabbing bits from other areas reminds me a little of Minecraft.

Has kind of a Populous feel to it.

It also reminds me of black & white, but without the creature or the good/evil stuff which has infected so many games now.

+1. It's a genre that I'd love to see revived.

Awesome! I saw the trailer for this a while back and can't believe it's going to be a $15 XBLA release. Ready to buy.

That does look very cool.

Right, those side-missions and use of your powers to solve problems were what I loved about B&W. Hopefully this game will offer some of that variety, and not just Problem>Action>Solution. I need to see I variety of gameplay mechanics, different ways to play (or modes) would be nice, and more involved puzzles that require thinking and multitasking.

I don't see me being able to resist this.

PC as well on the 27th - http://www.destructoid.com/from-dust...

*raises eyebrows* No sh*t. Wow. Awesome.

It's gotten to the point where I'm pretty excited for a modern game that isn't about shooting dudes in the face.

Interest definitely raised.

This looks really cool. I hope the game plays as fun as it looks.

Yeah, with it on PC I know 5 years from now I can still play it. If I got it on console ...

very rare I pay full price, but for $15 on Steam I will.

There are some great videos of the game going up on Giant Bomb.

Looks excellent. May be my first God game.

Speaking of Giant Bomb videos of the game, now there's a quick look: http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-...

It's as I thought, a little simplistic for want I'd prefer. Good pickup for a Steam sale, though.

I was worried about that once I found out it was a $15 title. I still plan on picking it up though so I didn't watch the video after the first couple of minutes to avoid spoilers.

He did say he was on land 3, and that there were about 15 or so lands that got a lot more complex than what was in the quick look. It seems like Populous (3) the beginning, except without mana. I'm not sure what people were expecting given the videos from Ubisoft.

That's just it, because of the lack of videos I could only have a general understanding of the game.
