My prayers have been answered! With the demise of Guitar Hero (not necessarily in those prayers), Soundgarden returns to Rock Band... at some point this summer.

Woooot!

Harmonix have an infuriating habit of releasing songs by bands I like, but not the actual songs I want. If you're going to release a Pantera song, make it Cemetery Gates. If you're going to release a Mastodon song, make it Oblivion (though I'd settle for Divinations).

Wow how did I miss this thread... tagging.

OMG OMG OMG !!!

DLC Week of 6/14 - Singles from Avenged Sevenfold, A-Ha, Live & Chumbawumba!

Hey gang,

Short intro to next week's DLC while most of us are still out in LA cleaning up after E3! There's a nice assortment of singles including tracks from the 80's, 90's and 00's, ranging from pop to metal, introducing several bands to RB for the first time while welcoming back fan favorites. Enjoy!

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (June 14):

A-Ha – “Take On Me” X
Avenged Sevenfold – “Unholy Confessions” X
Avenged Sevenfold – “Welcome to the Family”
Chumbawamba – “Tubthumping”
Live – “I Alone” X
Live – “Lightning Crashes”

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system June 15)

These tracks will be available for purchase as individual tracks on Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Price:

$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points) per song
$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per song
$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade

I would just about go crazy for Lightning Crashes on Pro, even though it might wind up being really easy, but holy hell is this a great week. Tubthumping might be a little annoying, but I bet it is hella fun to play, and easy to get people to play for fun value alone.

Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake Onnnnnnnnnnnn Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Remember: Start low!

You're not kidding about the tracks from Live. I've been listing those songs on every single 'Hey, what do you want in Rock Band?' survey since the game came out. So freaking stoked to get those.

Lightning Crashes is probably easier to play on a real guitar than on RB's pro guitar mode.

hmxhenry]Hey gang!

Next week we'll be adding two 3 packs to the RB library, including the long overdue addition of Poison, which should hopefully flesh out the hair band options a bit for the longtime faithful on the forums.

Poison will make their Rock Band debut next week with a three pack of hits – “Nothin’ but a Good Time” from 1988’s Open Up and Say … Ahh!, “Unskinny Bop” from 1990’s Flesh & Blood and “Talk Dirty To Me” from their debut album, Look What the Cat Dragged In.

Rockers 3 Doors Down are adding to their Rock Band catalog with a three pack of songs next week that will include “Here Without You”, “When I’m Gone” and “When You’re Young”, the first single from their new album Time of My Life, which will be released July 19, 2011.

Each band will also have one Pro Guitar upgrade available. Enjoy!

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (June 28):

• 3 Doors Down – “Here Without You”
• 3 Doors Down – “When I’m Gone” X
• 3 Doors Down – “When You’re Young”
• Poison – “Nothin’ but a Good Time” X
• Poison – “Talk Dirty To Me”
• Poison – “Unskinny Bop”

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system June 29)

These tracks will be available for purchase as “Poison Pack 01”, “3 Doors Down Pack 01” and as individual tracks on Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Meh

(Poison might be stupid fun though)

I'll likely be picking up both packs. 3 Doors Down is one of the few bands from the 00's that I like at all, and I know that my wife likes them as well.

Poison isn't my favorite band from the 80's, but I like the songs well enough and want to spend to encourage them to bring more 80's rock to the platform. The past 6-9 months they have finally started to bring some more 80's stuff but it has been mostly pop/new wave with the exceptions of Bon Jovi and Ozzy Osbourne.

I already bought Tubthumping (I couldn't resist the flashback to high school), and I might get one or two of the 3 Doors Down songs but not completely sold yet.

Yep. Also, I get knocked down, but I *do* get up again.

I bet you don't break a hip either.

Weebles wobble.

But do they fall down?

No, they do not!

Because I care so much, I'll pick up the ball (this week). I've already bought the Badmotorfinger and Superunknown tracks, put my Avatar's Soundgarden t-shirt back on, and am just waiting to get off work and start playing.

Rock Band]This Tuesday, the seminal grunge masters make their way back to the Rock Band platform with a celebratory 6-pack of hits from across the band’s legendary career. “Outshined” and “Rusty Cage” kick off the pack, both hailing from the band’s 1991 record Badmotorfinger. From Superunknown, the band’s influential 1994 classic, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, Rock Band fans will be able to rock out to “Fell on Black Days” and “The Day I Tried to Live”. Rounding out the pack are two standout tracks from the band’s 1996 record Down on the Upside, “Blow Up the Outside World” and “Burden in My Hand”.

The band is currently on tour and recording a new album. For details and dates, head to www.soundgardenworld.com.

As always, songs available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3 feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable. Some songs also feature Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades available for an additional $0.99 upgrade download. For more information about Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades, visit our support section. Rock Band 3 Pro Mode requires Rock Band Pro-compatible instrument controllers.

I'll be picking up the pack once it goes live on PS3. The DLC from HMX has been really good since RB3 released last October (really since they released CCR last summer). Honestly, there have only been a few weeks this year where I haven't purchased at least one track, and I previously didn't purchase much Rock Band DLC at all.

Oooh, Soundgarden.

I swear I'm gonna have to buy at least one or two 4000 point cards when I get home to catch up on DLC for this game alone.

I picked up all 6 tracks myself last night. Only played Day I Tried to Live though.

Are people asking if they will try to sell us Spoonman and Black Hole Sun again? Because I am wondering.

According to the post over in the Rock Band Forums announcing the current Soundgarden pack:

Also, regarding "Black Hole Sun" and "Spoonman", we are definitely aware of the fact that folks would like to see those tracks return and we're working on it. Unfortunately licensing is a bit trickier because those songs have already been released on disc.
