Spiral Knights Catch-All: F2P MMO action-rpg from Three Rings

I'm in also - playing as Cymbrogi (and threw some friend invites out there for those that didn't show up automatically - what a brilliant way to do it!)

So, any point in doing the training arena more than once other than to farm crowns?
I've tried reading the starter guide but I must be not getting the point.

I missed the training area. All the talking was guiding me to go to Haven. And that basic training gate at whatever town that you can't go back to doesn't seem to be replicated in Haven. I'm sure it would have helped me with some basic things like charge attacks or blocking that first night, but my friends wanted me to go adventuring with them so they told me to skip that crap.

Tempted to make another character and run through it just to see if there's anything I missed. But do characters on the same account share energy or something? Alts seem like they would be nice but if it just takes away from my main guy's stash I probably don't want to do it.

So, it seems no one else had the lag issues during combat that I had? I wonder if it was just a one time thing?

Stele

Mist energy is shared, but it may be worth doing the intro levels again.

Like it has been said be

I also recommend changing the mouse key bindings to M1:Attack, M2:Shield, and using WASD to move your character.

This .

I'm getting a bit of lag, but it isn't that bad.

Give it another shot.

Well, did a mission and the lag was gone so it must be different areas, like the starter area. I'll give it a shot so Karmajay needs guild invite

I had lag the other night during the intro tutorial bit, but hardly any since. Just one or two spots here and there, nothing game breaking at all.

And yeah I did the controls thing a couple days ago, well a variation of it. Moving WASD and having mouse for attack/block/weapon switch is much better.

heh yea alts share energy UNLESS you pay for some energy on one of the free accounts...then they have their own pools of mist energy. hence why i've only spend $0.75 on this game. It was to split my accounts from each other's mist pools.

Is that alts on the same account?

Because a lot of us are on Steam with only the one account. Not really looking to sign up for another.

Alts are useful to check the price on recipes when you get to the midway point in tiers. I have made a fortune reselling recipes.

ah yea, i have different accounts so I'm not sure if you can separate on one account.

Another excuse to use my favorite joke:

A friend on my WoW account: WTF is wrong with your keys?
Me: I switch movement from WASD to EDSF.
Friend: Why would you do that?
Me: So my hand can stay on the home row for switching to chatting and back.
Friend: So you're a homerowsexual?
Me: ...Yes.

Anyone know if it's possible to link an older account to a steam account? I want my cheevos to show up! Yargh!

Edit: Yes, but not yet.

Yeah it's "coming soon."

Started up an alt account myself tonight, for checking auction house.

Really enjoying this game. Slowly grinding my way to 3* equips, doing quick runs of tier 2, mostly looking for recipes at depth 13.

I've already told some people in game but if anyone sees a Dusker Armor Recipe or Firotech Alchemer Mk II Handgun Recipe, both 3* for 4k, please grab me one. They are both selling for way too much on the AH.

I am also really digging this game. I'm enjoying the casual atmosphere.

I caved and bought a starter kit (figured I would support the developers).

About 1/3 of the energy converted nicely into the crowns for 3 star gear (I paid way too much for it, and could have gotten a much better price if I was patient).

I'll keep and eye out for them Stele (or if anyone is desperate for a bit of coins for that needed upgrade) let me know in game.

I'm still waiting for the steam CE store to expand its range of merchandise. Not everyone wants to shell out $20 to convert to a paid account.

There's a drop down menu in the store at the bottom. Change it from whatever the starter pack is down to 750 energy, the smallest they have, and it's like $2.45

Sweet.

Yeah, I dropped $5.00 in my steam wallet and spent $4.95 on energy just because I ran out and was not interested in waiting for the mist energy to recharge.

I haven't had time to even finish a single dungeon but I'll be on tonight if any other low levels want to join me.

Urgh, Last night the s*&t got real. I tried to solo my way through one of the tier 2 arenas. My respawn energy amount was up to ~100. Then with a full group we wiped so much that it was ~1000. I guess I need to work on skills/ get better resistance gear, because I can't afford that.

Whoa... never seen personal respawn above 20.

Anyway I've managed to find all the other various 4* recipes I need for every piece of equipment except for the Dusker Coat and Firotech MK2 gun mentioned in my earlier post, which are still only 3*. Granted I haven't crafted my other 4* stuff, but at least I'm on the path. Would like to finish a full 3* set before energy costs get too crazy.

Of course thanks to help of the goodjers with alts I've been able to make some good crowns on recipe runs and could probably afford AH prices for one or both of them now. But it's just the principle of the thing. If it costs 4k from the store I can't justify more than 4.5k or so on the AH for it. Clearly other people don't feel the same though so I'm happily selling them 4k recipes for 7k and biding my time until the one I need shows up in the store. Seen the Dusker Cap twice, so the Coat will show eventually.

And of course I got my Dusker Coat recipe the next run after complaining.

Maybe you should start ranting about not winning the lottery.

I'm on as Veloreyn. I bought the $2.95 pack of energy because I was stuck and didn't feel like waiting. Work's been hell, so I might not be on much.

Mogl and I gave been trying to log on each day and at least run a few things. We are full 2* gear now, so we are not leet. We are still learning the game, but having a blast doing it.

Every time it hits 100 million I buy a ticket. Stupid Powerball.

I crafted my first 2* gear yesterday, so I'm well on my way. I also started a spreadsheet to plan my gear and material requirements. Good stuff.

So I've been lurking on this site for a while now and last night when i logged in to Spiral knights I noticed someone with a guild called Gamers with jobs. So today I registered for the forums and if you guys have room I'd love to join the guild. I play under Randomtasks.

Cool

Though in line with the name of the site I'll be at work until oh 7ish tonight. But I'll send out some friend requests when I get on.

Welcome!

I am not high enough rank in the guild to send out invites (ahem ) but someone should be able to get you today.

Multra, both on this forum and in game, is the guild leader so he definitely can get you if you friend him.

EDIT: Or I'll get you tonight.
