"Anti-Groping Bill" Added to Texas Special Session

Rick Perry added the TSA pat down bill, which makes it a misdemeanor for TSA agents to touch certain parts of the body during a pat down. Personally I'm thinking well that just states which spots someone can hide items but at the same time, I'm thinking this whole groping thing has gone too far. At least that's what the internet and news tell me.

Currently the state has school finance, healthcare, congressional redistricting (which I thought was illegal since they had already done that last time and it's supposed to only happen after 5 or 10 years I thought), something about Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, and sanctuary cities.

I haven't been paying close attention to the insurance issue, all I know is that if it's on the schedule, I can expect a late night or interesting dialogue.
The healthcare thing was bugging me because the state was voting on using federal funds for medicaid and medicare for other areas to balance the budget.
School finance is always fun to watch them argue over.
To be honest, I haven't followed any of the sanctuary cities bill. All I know is the clip of the senator being a class A douche.

Didn't the TSA say it would pull out of Texas and cause the decertification of Texas airports if that happened? That would mean special measures for each flight flying in and out of Texas, like extra-stringent searches on everyone when they landed elsewhere...

That's what I heard. To be honest, I think it's just one big pissing contest between Perry and Obama. I also think it'll hurt his chances for a republican presidential nomination because it seems like he's a little impulsive and confrontational.

On the bright side, rumor is, he added that because he was getting letters and messages from people asking what is he going to do about it so you could try to argue that he's listening to the people.

It's true enough. The constant "DEY TAKIN UR FREEDIMS" vitriol around this has made it a bit of a cause in central Texas, at least.

That argument is correct, and they are right to fight back.

This. I always find it laughable that no Republican seemed to have an issue with anything the government did between 9/11 and, say, January 19, 2009. Then it became "look what this new guy did! I'm shocked at what's happened to this country all of a sudden!"

When a Republican takes away your freedoms, it's to protect Children and Families.

When a Democrat does it, it's to protect Socialism and Sodomy.

duh.
