Batman: Arkham City Catch-All

Rock Steady just might have made it easier to stomach a PS3 in the future. They are releasing special edition Batman controllers. What's cool is that while the 360 version is pretty much a 360 controller, so is the PS3 version.

I might have found me a new PS3 controller.

Oooh. But they swapped the left stick & D-pad?

What I'm going to do in the first minutes of Arkham City:

1. Find tallest building
2. Perch on gargoyle
3. ??
4. PROFIT

Making it a 360 controller. If it has a decent d-pad, I'm in. If it's a 360 controller with a PS3-quality pad, it's the controller I've always wanted for this generation.

Edit: On second look, the start-button thing on the PS3 pad looks pretty slipshod. Maybe I'll cruise the net for reviews when it releases.

I might even be up for a 360 version if the D-Pad is better. I'm not buying it sight unseen. But I'm going to take a look when they are available. Hopefully you can easily turn the flashing lights off.

I notice there's a big stinking wire poking out of the 360 version. Stupid Microsoft and their stupid refusal to let anyone else make wireless peripherals for the 360. I don't care if the d-pad is better, I can't go back to wires. I just can't.

That's my best bet.

The 9 old year me would be going bat-sh*t over those.

There are far too many good games I want to buy coming out in autumn. When do they usually start announcing delays so they get spaced out a bit, or alternatively how long until they drop in price?

There's a good number of great games, but unlike the past two years I don't think it's a overwhelming amount. Diablo 3 and Max Payne 3 I don't think are likely this year. And besides Game Informer, we haven't heard anything on Tomb Raider, so that's a question mark. I've no doubt that the second half of this year will be more quality and less quantity than previous years.

Let's see....

Deus Ex
Resistance 3
Rage
Gears of War 3
Arkham City
Space Marine
Tropico 4 <---(personally)
Darkness 2
Battlefield 3
Uncharted 3
Skyrim
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Modern Warfare 3

Granted, a lot of these are shooters and the list is considerably smaller if you don't like those.

We're going to need more year.

My personal plan will be to delay the purchase of the single player, less time critical games but it's tough when you want to be in on all the GWJ chat about a new game.

I feel blessed. There are only two games on that list that are remotely interesting to me, and only Arkham City is anything like a day one purchase.

Agree with higgledy. Batman is probably the only single player game I will grab on release day. Maybe mass effect too, if Amazon has credit for the PC version.

Batman and Deus Ex are both day one for me. Assasin's Creed: Revelations will probably also be bought on day one, as my wife and daughter will need a new dose of Ezio.

I can't really complain about the state of gaming these days.

Some good music in these trailers. The Heavy in the official trailer and Lykke Li in the Catwoman.

I have become a fan of The Heavy thanks to the batman trailer.

That Batman 360 controller looks great, especially the d-pad. But they need to lose the wire!

A new gameplay video from E3.

Reminds me how much I liked the first game. Too. Many. Games...

Oh my. They put Just Cause 2 hook and glide mechanics into Batman. My want for this game just went up 1000%.

Seems this will also be a PC GFWL game. Some will hate that. I don't really care, but like achievements I suppose.

Hope they make it easier to move saves between PCs. That was the only problem I had with Asylum on PC.

GFWL moves it down my list in terms of priority. I can wait, and it'll be cheaper too.

*sigh* GFWL. *groan*

Please, enough of that dated piece of crap already.

Annoying, but it didn't stop the first one from being awesome (and available via Steam).

Don't worry guys. Just wait another year and get it new on the Wii U. It's going to be the ultimate platform anyway.

Lol, Bonus. You going to get 4000 achievement points for this one too?

Man, a Batman controller with extraneous glowy bits -- yes, nine-year-old you would think it was cool, but the Batman would not.

Sure, gothic-looking, weird curves, bat-themed, all good. But glowing? Would never fly.

Yeah Ninjas don't glow, it hurts their stealthiness.
