Let's see does it comeoh so tantilizingly close to delivering, but then fail in a spectacularly painful way? Yeah, I think the fix is accurate.

We should rename this "The much neglected Boogle dating thread"!

So I have a date on thursday.

Thursday was last night. And Boogle is tweeting about... Portal 2. :/

Portal 2 is a euphemism isn't it?

finger --> portal 2

?

finger -> butt -> nose?

Stinky.

But what if the portal in the butt led elsewhere?

You know it would just be another butt

Spoiler:

The butt is a lie!

So this is a little late since I forgot about this thread, but it's been awhile since I've had an opportunity, so...

For Boogle!

In me related news, no longer at college. Adjusting to finding new friends etc in the city. Also finding housing other than parents.

Suddenly, I begin to understand some of your dating issues a bit more clearly . . .

So where are you living now? Still Norman/OKC?

For the first thing: I joined a meetup group (where I met my friends) and I found bar events that were up my alley (where I met my girlfriend). Take meetup with a grain of salt of course, but it can be a great way to find new things to do, like say another rugby league.

Yeah, just landed an office job in OKC so I'm looking for a place to stay. Probably rooming with a buddy from high school who I haven't seen for about 4 years.

I think the plan is to start bowling again (as in form a team in a league involving me, prospective roommate and one other) as well as keep going out with his group of friends for now. I'm sure once I start the job proper that may open some opportunities as well. I have quite a few buddies on the OKC rugby team, but I'm kind of burned out on that for now after being an officer and being in my mind shat upon for the entire year as B-side captain in Norman. I'm liking just working out for my own reasons right now.

Why did this thread die down again?!

I think those that had interesting relationship potential happening got into relationships that didn't require this thread, and the rest of us... I dunno.

Me, I stopped looking, because that just meant I was over-thinking everything. I'm having more fun just going out and meeting people when I can. If I get the chance to meet someone I immediately hit it off with I might come back, but as it is, meh.

All I can say is the same thing I said before: working in a location that has a huge female presence really helps in learning how to just talk to women like you'd talk to anyone else instead of being the nerd I know I am inside and thinking "OH sh*t JESUS SHE JUST SAID STUFF HOW DO I NOT SCARE HER AWAY?!"

Still, there are plenty of women there I find attractive, but I have no clue how to engage them. I mean, it's a work place. Best I can hope for is to just be friendly, smile and say "good morning" while passing by (which usually depends on my mood: if I do it, I'm feeling good and am saying hi to everyone) or having a brief conversation at the water cooler (which actually happened this morning! I was quite surprised).

But as I said, thinking about it at all doesn't make it feel like a natural inclination, it feels like I'm strategizing and planning or whatnot. Which could be broken down into Game type stuff. I don't want that. I just want to be a more outgoing and friendly person, which seems to slowly be happening with this job. So yay!

People should listen to Dan Savage's podcast. Yo.

I would if he had put one out this week!

How dare he take a vacation.

That would be the other thread, though accurate.

Boogle stopped mainlining us with hilarious anecdotes, and no one has since picked up the torch.

Word. Though after listening for 2 years the amount of fresh advice dwindled and I stopped following. The problems people came with were only variations of the old problems.

Y'know, with all the stupid little mistakes I've been making around here lately, I'm pretty sure my brain has taken a vacation.
