Yeah, the level of the recruits never accurately reflects the reality of college football. I was really surprised when I played college ball (NAIA-D2 back in the early 90s) at the fact that truly every player on my team was better than *any* player I had played against in high school. It's just a numbers game. There are so many kids playing football that even when you whittle the talent pool down to colleges and even small colleges there are going to be some talented players. The recruits, as they stand now, are rated worse than recruits would realistically be rated for D2.

And Division 1 schools do not have problems finding kickers and punters. I don't mind of the 3-5* guys turn into duds. But the game made it hard to find a one star guy.

not sure what teams are two star? Air Force? i so i got that lol

hey guys...didnt have time to read the whole line of posts, but really want to play in the NCAA league this year. If Marshall is open, I would love to play as my alma mater.

Can i join? i would like penn state!

Posted in the GWJBCS off-season thread. Figured it should be cross posted here, of course with out actual number ratings next to the letter grades it is hard to set a guideline for what we want next season.

Well, NCAA 12 team ratings were revealed. It'll be nice to have a decent defense again.

Ohh and it looks like the demo is date for the 28th.

I'd say we should each take teams in the 40-80 range, with 3 or 4 star ratings. That way, we can avoid the LSU situation again, and it seems like those clubs are relatively even in terms of ratings.

Edit: I think I may want to roll with the Orange next year.

I'd like to take Cincy then. Michigan appears to be too high for the requested overalls. I'm sure Cincy falls in the category.

Welcome to the Big East

I am not sure who I will take next year as a team.

Big East getting REALLY crowded

Figured I should even it out

Since we can now do custom conferences, we can make sure that Rutgers and Pitt are together and then Cincy and Syracuse are together. Big East is gonna be fuuun.

Don't forget Hoppa and TCU Too bad we couldn't turn the Big East into two conferences and made a Big East Conference championship before the Bowls. They need to work on that. Or hell, change the whole dynamic of college football as we know it, and we can have Shag change all the conferences around, putting all schools into new conferences.

Hmmm...Maybe I should go Texas Tech or Missouri. Or ASU.

I'd love to go ND again, but they'll be a 5* prestige team.

I was about to say, I'm happy to pick a team in a conference with other people, but I love Oregon State.

At about the 4:00 mark, when OSU has the ball, Nebraska shows off some quite nice zone defense in a few places. Good to see those flat passes not be so easy!

That pick at 1:47 bugs me. They still seem to have that problem where a corner has eyes in the back of his head and turns around 180 to make the pick. If a corner jams a wide receiver he's eventually going to be running *with* the WR. That's not a situation in which you usually see a corner spin around and leap up to make a pick.

The coverage at 4:00 is nice, but I wonder what happens if a receiver streaks up the middle of the defense.

Big East getting REALLY crowded :-)

Wait until Kansas joins!

I'm pretty sure, from what I've read, you could turn the Big East into a 12-team conference and choose your own destination for the Big-East conf. championship game!

I like the idea of people playing in one conference. The only problem I see is that not everyone will be bowl eligible at the end of the year. I said it before, it was my hope that we would get 2 people in each BCS conference. It would give people a championship game against a human opponent and should give the people who win that a human opponent in a major bowl. Then you would truly have a champion every year.

This year, we could pull that off shag. You have control of customizing the conferences. The Big East doesn't HAVE to have all of us.

Yeah, Leroy is right, I added that thought so you could have a conference championship game for the "highly contested" conference.

I like how you can choose the stadiums to play them in as well. I think for a Big East Championship game I'd want it in Philadelphia (where the Army/Navy game is played).

I like both ideas. That was my dream for NCAA 11.

I like the idea of adding some old Big East teams back in and have a Championship game for them (most likely teams from the MAC). Pillage from the mid-majors to make the BCS conferences have a Championship game.

Is University of Miami available?

I'll take UCLA, Colorado or Clemson, depending on how the conferences are filling in.

I'm assuming I'm safe with Kansas? We we get some Big 12 guys this season?

Jay,

Depending on how it shakes out and what types of leagues we create, I'd always be willing to take Mizzou to be your natural rival!

Like
I said, I would like to go with Marshall/WVU/Colorado...in that order...hope that I can get one of those 3

I think my preference this year would be Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Michigan State (all 4 stars but ranked kinda high in the preseason polls, so I wouldn't complain if someone had a problem with them) or North Carolina. I really wanted Nebraska but looks like they are a 5 star, guess I'll run my offline dynasty with them.

My Prefered teams:

Clemson
Oklahoma
Air Force
North Carolina

If any are available I will take it. doesn't really matter to me If they Arent Ill get someone else

That could be fun. But you might not be aware if just how much I hate Mizzou. I might have a hard time differentiating you from:
