Here's one that all those LOTR dorks might enjoy:

Aragorn, an archer and an infantryman walk into a bar. The infantryman goes up to the bartender and asks for a pint. The bartender says, "That'll be 30 copper." The infantryman complains about the price, but pays anyway.

Then the archer steps up and orders his pint. "That'll be 30 copper," the bartender demands. The archer grumbles about the price but pays anyway.

Now Aragorn steps up to the bar and orders 2 pints, as he's very thirsty. The bartender says, "That'll be 30 copper." The Infantryman and the Archer both angrily confront the bartender: "You just charged US 30 copper for ONE pint, but only charged Aragorn 30 for TWO?!"

The bartender calmly turns to them and says, "Of course. Senior citizen discount."

Badum-ching Let the banninating begin.

Booo!

Wow, rejected in under 2 minutes. That must be a new record.

I also meant to say, great episode guys!

Also, where can I get a full copy of Podunk's version of Trogdor? :)

The entirety of what I worked up is actually on the show. Fletch planted the bug in my ear Sunday afternoon, and I only had a few hours to work on it between then and the Monday evening deadline, so that was all I had time for. I am considering working the rest of it up, though, if I've got the time. Trogdor is the bomb yo. :)

Yeah, he turned that around in just over 24 hours. That's why Ian is Da Man

Sorry, Montalban, it was a good attempt. And to be honest, I was trying to find something equally nerdy as well, but I failed.

Well, I'm pleased to hear that I'm not the only who is glad they decided to give Chibi Robo a shot.

I couldn't agree with your assessment of the game more, except that I'm not sure how appropriate the comparison to Pyschonaughts is. Sure, both are fabulous adventure platformers that managed to be ignored by about 97% of the gaming population, but they are so radically different in style (thematically, visually, and even in terms of gameplay) that I couldn't honestly compare them apples to apples. Maybe oranges to tangerines, but even that would be stretch. Suffice it to say that both are great games that are worth playing for anyone who doesn't absolutely despise the platformer concept.

The feeling I got when playing this game is very similar to that which games like Katamari, Pikmin, and Cubivore give me. This sort of light hearted, off beat madness channeled into a keenly refined game experience is the best of what the Japanese have to offer the gaming world, in my opinion. I too cannot recommend this game more highly (along with the other three games I just mentioned, for that matter).

Winner! I love it

I think people who own elvish swords are ineligible for the judges panel on this one. Sorry.

That was a really funny show, guys. So Fletcher, what are you trying to say? That I should talk more often, or that I should get drunk and scream obscenities on a regular basis?

Well both, natch So long as we're playing Assault on the Relic map (AKA Neverending Assault), you can be my wing(wo)man anytime. Sober, or obscenely drunk

Certis bought an elvish sword and his wife didn't say no? Did he hang it on the wall in his house too?

My point.

Good show guys. Hearing about GRAW makes me sad. It sounds awesome. I haven't played any game in about 2 weeks, which makes me even more sad. Atleast I can still get my GWJ podcast fix.

Liked the music on this episode - as usual. I take it the metal song in the show is trogdore. Rock on Podunk! DJDM rocks too.

lol I unwillingly made your dream come true... I got a few weird looks at work from people in the hallway when they heard the word c*ck shouted several times from my desk.

Tuesdays are the funnest day of the week for me

Missin yah Propa. I'm guessing that it's the whole new job thing?

I think "throwing the zen turtle" must be the next GWJ idiomatic gaming phrase. I can see it now: a clear, yet deep-thought-inducing graphic on a GWJ T-shirt soon to be available (in a couple of years).

Just grabbed the show. Look forward to listening to it. Thanks I really enjoy them. Keep it up guys.

...I totally bought chibi robo...

O god I'm laughing my ass off.... and the show was great as always. I loved all the wife jokes and you could tell Certis was happy about it too. I hope you guys keep adding all the extra random things at the end. It's like getting a bonus dvd!

GRAW was talked about for like 20 mins. That was my favorite part. It's such a fun game to play with friends online. Last Thursday Certis and I were the only two alive and the sound in the game is so good that you feel like your right in the game.We were on this docks level and you could hear the guys talking and looking for you. I remember Certis saying "I hear them talking and I don't like it". I said "me either " but Shawn was dead by the time I said something so he didn't hear me....Good times.

I tried finding a rental on my way home after listening to the Chibi bit on my drive to work. Woulda been an insta buy, but the funds say no-no-no.

I hope they're(whoever they are) paying you well Fletcher.

They're paying me in happy points.

Can you buy a zen turtle with Happy Points?

Oh, I almost forgot to post this 5/5 stars rated review from http://gamerdad.com for Chibi-Robo given the time spent on it during this week's episode.

Now that's entertainment. The guys got the weekly podcasts to such a fine degree of art, it's amazing. If I were ClearChannel, I'd syndicate them for all major broadcasting markets.

"Respect the turtle!"

P.S. Chibi Robo bombed at Gamespot.com with 7.1 score.

Jolly Bill wrote:

Sadly, no. I looked, but they've apparently discontinued this particular turtle. Sorry

The brothers chaps actually put on a live show at my university. That was pretty awesome. We got to see all the dvd stuff before they released and they took the homestar puppet around town and filmed it.

Nice tip on Chibi Robo, Fletch... there's generally not a lot of chatter about platformers, so I appreciate hearing about them from others.

Loved the 'cast guys, and I totally agree with you on your take on GRAW, It rocks my socks..! Oddly enough, I could totally relate to the whole "Delayed Grafication" moment after purchasing a game. I rush to Gamestop/Best Buy to buy the game, then I let it "rest" on top of the TV for a couple hours while I get everything else that needs to be finished out of the way.

Then, it's time to crack a beer and kick back until looking at the clock and realizing that I have to go to work in about 6 hours..

Great stuff! Chibi Robo is now in my Gamefly queue, right next to Black.. (Disappointing, as I had huge hopes for Black.)
