Hi everyone. With the game being 7 weeks away, this could be a good time to start hashing out leagues. There's a lot of interest floating around so let's do this....

So as you can see, the BCS league is full for now. I know I'll be back.

Plenty of room left in the 2-Star dynasty which I'm really enjoying now that we have some solid sliders in place.

Let's use this thread to hash out teams, conferences, etc. If you want to bow out or change teams just note it here. I will keep the main post up to date.

I would like to run a created team dynasty with all of us in one split conference with a title game(which I'm assuming will be the eventual national title winner because we all rule). It would definitely run a bit slower with all the head to head games but those dynasties tend to be the most fun. And to keep recruiting a little more open, we could be located all over the country(kind of like we are now)

I asked about a single conference dynasty a while back. I'd love to do that so count me in if someone wants to set that up. I'd prefer to work with default sliders or some well-researched and agreed upon sliders so I'm probably out of the 2 Star league unless they discovered the right combination. Otherwise I'd like to continue with the BCS league as well.

We changed the sliders 2-3 times after you left. They feel pretty good now. My O-Line doesn't lay down like that first game.

I was in a single conference dynasty when NCAA 11 first came out, SunBelt. I enjoyed it but the guys I played with were hardcore. I couldn't keep up with them, they were always waiting on me because of my hours.

That's good news. If that's the case then maybe, if I'm redeemable in the eyes of the commish, I'd jump back into the 2-star league and get a look at the sliders in action in case we end up using them for the main BCS league at some point. Keeping in mind that obviously everything could change when NCAA 12 comes out, but you know...

Sure. I understand. And that's not for everyone, just as I wasn't happy with the sliders and didn't particularly want to work with them at that time. I'd probably be more into that now, but that's neither here nor there. As far as human vs. human goes, I enjoyed it when we played APF2k8, but it's not easy to do all Human vs. Human. I've actually enjoyed having only 3 human games, but I would be interested in one, less hardcore league of all peeps.

I would definitely be into a relaxed one of these, like a 5 day roll period unless something comes up like vacation or emergency stuff. We're all adults and stuff happens.

I'm failing with the quotes right now!

DS, I posted about this all above too, but I just played your Nevada team, and they missed you! The backup QB was #48 I believe, but he had speed and some potential!

Firejerk - Northern Illinois

Glad I made an impression!

I'm in for both of these. I might think about changing schools in at least the 2* league, just for some more variety. If I do, I may have to convince Counselor and whats-his-name to join me in a new conference.

I've been thinking about what team to play in a BCS-type league. I'd like to play ND, but I may opt for a third league initially to get some more variety. Oddly enough, I was thinking of trying an ACC team.

As I said in the other threads, I'm probably in for both, but I'd prefer to wait a bit first. I don't expect a slot to be held open.

I like to wait for the inevitable patch and get a feel for what, if anything, needs to be done to keep the game fun. I think the sliders we are using in the 2Star league make for a more fun and realistic game. But that's me. I'm not saying I won't play default, as sometimes that is the most fair way to go. If I compared Madden 11 to NCAA 11, then the default All-Star was awesome!

One thing I would like to see in any league I join is having time-savers turned off. It's nice that EA lets us send them $5-$20 to make our teams better, but I'd rather use those on my own time, and not as a way to beef my team up over someone who didn't spend the money.

I will be coming back to the main league again (I only call it the main league, because there's no name to define it, like "2-star" league). I am interested in possibly filling a spot in the 2-star league, especially if I end up not buying Madden.

Leroy, Hoppa is changing over to TCU, so you can make that change above.

I am already going to request a Week 14 rematch in NCAA 12 between Rutgers and Notre Dame, if Shag is listening. I would also like to travel to South Bend this time.

*EDIT*
Shag and I were talking about the 1 conference league not too long ago. Instead of having everyone cram into 1 conference, take 1 or 2 Big Conferences that have Conf Championship games, and pile 6 into each. So for instance, take the SEC and ACC. If we place 3 people in each half of those conferences, you should have 2 HvH Conference Championship games. The upside is nice competition for the Conference, and the league should roll at the same pace as Shag's league. The downside is that the National Champ will more than likely have 1 CPU team (since we'll all beat up on each other) and we'll play against the same 2-3 people each year. You can also avoid that by putting everyone in 1 conference, split 6 to each half, and then have 1 Conference Championship. Downside is each season might take a bit longer to complete, and some teams might not get a shot at a bowl game.

You missed the Notre Lame comment too

I agree fully with Jay in that we can "plan" the leagues, but that we should also give ourselves time to work out kinks and slider sets, etc..

Perhaps this can be a way to get some preliminary lists of who's interested in what leagues, then we can finalize it all after we have some time with the game.

For me, I may even want to simply focus on 1 league (especially if we can make a 1 or 2 conference league like Kush/DS/Leroy proposed).

I thought you *could* turn those off? I purchased some so I could speed up things in NCAA 11 for me. Mostly just adding the extra pipeline state and something else. Can't remember. Just like I purchased the $5 thing in Skate and Skate 2 that opened the whole map.

Anyway, in all the NCAA leagues I've played they've been disabled. So I think you can turn them off. Or they're turned off by default. I definitely don't have a recruiting edge. I'm so bad at recruiting I let the computer handle it sometimes.

You can turn them on and off. I buy them because a lot of people pick them up. It's the extra pipeline state and training boosts so your place get an extra couple of point attributes in the offseason.

Well, the main NCAA 11 league has them on. I don't think they are on on purpose, but they are. I know that I specifically turned them off in the other league.

Yeah, DS, the 2-star sliders are much more manageable now I believe. I have had close games, and won some by 30 points. We had to change it from when you were there because it was a bit unrealistic, but now it's good!

Leroy, I'll also be down to join the created team dynasty once you're able to fill it, the Bend, OR team will be updated and ready to go (or I'll make a Hawaii league for my new hometown).

Since the NCAA games are the only games I allow myself to play, I will be able to continue to be timely in the leagues!

Leroy, since it looks like we'll be able to get some of the committed guys into the Created Team Dynasty, I'd like that to be the only one I'm signed up for (sorry to be bi-polar).

We can discuss the 1 or 2 conference set up that Kush talked about (either sound awesome, especially with a conference title game). This is my dream online dynasty (having everyone in 1 or 2 conferences!!).

I really want to take time to run through the coaching changes/etc...in an offline dynasty once I get the game (so I'd better not spread myself too thin) then I can see how that translates into the online play.

I will create a Kauai team, so once you update the main thread, you can list my team name as "Kauai." I'll think of the mascot later! Thanks..

Definitely. We talked about this a few months back and had a little interest from Kush. We'll see how it goes the closer we get.

I'm definately back in on the BCS, same team unless someone else wants 'em, then I could possibly be persuaded to look elsewhere for the right price.

I don't know if I'll go for a second (or 3rd) league yet. The two current leagues have led to my pile getting very tall and backlogged and I was planning on tackling alot of that this summer before the busy fall release schedule is upon us.

I'm a filthy skimmer.

I didn't realize there was talk of a created team dynasty. That may get me to jump on a second league and give my D3 alma mater a little love.

I would definitely take Michigan if you didn't want to run with them again Handsome.

What, just because you couldn't win with LSU?

Spoiler:

I know I'm ignoring history, but it sounds funnier this way.

I was so off that game. It was terrible. You had my number that day

I'm in for the main league again, and probably the two star. I'm probably going to switch teams in the main league, as I am tiring of the blue turf.

Also, I'd be open to following Firejerk to a new conference.

I would like to get in on a league as well if there is room. Looks full at this point, but should a space open up.

I'll be in for the BCS league again for sure. I'm interested in a created team league, but I'm not totally committed right now. I need to figure out what my work schedule is going to look like for the fall semester.

Wow...coaching carousel.. Sounds at least as involved as recruiting.

Wow! That is gonna change the entire off season and have huge impact during the season!

If we figure out a way to edit the 2-star league to start out as coordinators, we can have some fun to see who decides to build up our small schools or who jumps to the "big time."

I'm really excited!

I'd like to get in on the BCS league again, I definitely won't be running with Washington again.

I'd like throw something out there that was a little frustrating this time around for me. I felt we kinda had a gentleman's agreement when we started out not to take premier teams. I guess I feel like there was a fairly huge disparity in both the players on the field and the recruiting capabilities of some of the human teams in our league, even from the beginning. A couple of the games I've played in were just downright depressing with the differences of the capabilities of the players on the field. I've got no problems what-so-ever with the human players by any means, I've never felt like anyone was playing cheaply or working the game to their advantage for the win.

I definitely think there was a huge disparity in talent level. This seems especially true with almost all the others compared with Kansas and Houston, but there were also a number of others in that boat.

Also there were some distinct recruiting advantages for some of us. I tried not to badmouth folks that were significantly below my recruiting prestige. Mostly I just badmouthed Michigan amongst the human players, but I would do that no matter what Michigan's rating was.

The problem with the main league is that folks may want to play their favorite team, which might be good. But, we could choose to put some prestige caps on that, I suppose. It would mean teams like LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame would be out of bounds next time around. On the other hand, I think ND was only rated Bs across the board (maybe B+ offense) in the first season. I bet Michigan was the same.

I'm honestly fine with it. We did have a gentleman's agreement to not go and grab Florida, LSU, Alabama, etc. but everyone wanted to play with teams they loved. So we just went that way. Even though I struggled as Oregon State I wouldn't do it differently. I enjoyed the BCS league and would probably pick them all over again.

I came in the second season. Michigan was taken and no one objected when I took LSU. Had I known, I would have picked someone else.
