Good luck getting Jesus to produce a birth certificate.

Besides, I doubt they'd elect two black men to presidency back to back...

You guys seem too preoccupied with religion and ethnicity ,so I have an Idea for the GOP. They should nominate God for president ( Jesus might be a good choice but you won't get any Jewish votes).

You'd be surprised. I live in a somewhat Jesusy area, and just got some Shepherd's Guide in the mail, which is just ads for Christian-run businesses. Most have an icon stating that they signed some Affirmation of Faith saying they believed in Jesus. Third page of the book, complete with icon, was a kosher deli run by a Jewish guy.

I'm sure God can beat Obama and he won't say stuff and change his mind right after (he haven't said stuff for a while) . Then the think tanks in DC would try to figure out what's god's will and try to implement it. You won't really notice the difference.

Decided to just go with straight trolling now. Nice.

You can't deny that this guy knows which side of his bagel the butter is on.

And you should see his position on health care.

Ironically, I think it is far more likely that a Mormon would win the presidency on the Democratic ticket. One's religion is less of an issue for Democrats than Republicans.

He'd have to be a Mormon that goes against his own church on a lot of positions to get more than a handful of Democrats to vote for him.

Yeah, loaves and fishes are one thing, but that little printing is tough.

It depends on how you look at it ;). I've seen a fair share of crazy suggestions on this forum recently including "sharks with laser beams".

I got convinced your system is broken.Your problem is that a two party system and Electoral votes combined with Winner takes all make silences a vocal minority. If a state has a tie like Florida in Bush vs Kerry (if I remember correctly) it gets messy.

I haven't seen anyone that can beat Obama in the Republican side. Maybe the Tea party and/or Isolationist movement should start their own party . As far as I've seen they protest about the issues rather than the person.

I don't think anyone can beat Obama in a Popularity contest , that's why they sent Trump to try to get him out of the race. Well and the democrats always got Hillary ... Maybe the republicans should get Condoleezza Rice.A black woman might be able to beat Obama . She'll probably get more votes than Sarah Palin.

Condi destroyed her political career by being a cheerleader for the disasterous Iraq War. It's the same reason an otherwise shoe in candidate like Colin Powell will never be president.

That and the gay rumors would keep her out of the GOP primaries.

And it doesn't help that Chevron Texaco named a supertanker after her.

The gay rumors might be an advantage. The Iraq war and all that other stuff is irrelevant. People have a short memory and Obama is determined to stay in Afghanistan .

In my opinion all the Republicans need to do is stick the leg in the door and then figure out what to do when they get in. They need to find a well accepted gimmicky candidate and run him for president. Or just get anyone other than Sarah Palin and attack Obama's performance.

Who does best against Obama? Paul. The congressman from Texas, who also ran as a libertarian candidate for president in 1988 and who is well liked by many in the tea party movement, trails the president by only seven points (52 to 45 percent) in a hypothetical general election showdown. Huckabee trails by eight points, with Romney down 11 points to Obama.

That was from May 5th, before the debate.

It's fun to look at the general matchups, but we have the electoral system. In a matchup, which big states does Paul win that McCain didn't? I'd be surprised if he won Florida or Pa or Ohio.

I'm going to assume that it's not that Ron Paul is popular as much as he's by and large pretty unknown compared to the others in terms of media coverage, and "not Romney/Gingrich/Palin/etc." is looking good at this point. I don't think Ron Paul has the vaguest chance in hell of getting within a hundred miles of the nomination, let alone being elected.

There is NO WAY a Republican could beat Obama and get elected without massive support from the religious right. Being gay isn't a popular part of their platform.

Hey he cured the lepers. I'd have to believe that the ability to waive your hand and cure disease would dramatically cut medical costs. You virtually eliminate the issue of length of stay.

Then again, if Jesus tried to mandate his "hand wave cure" I'm sure there would be those that oppose it because it restricts their freedom!

And if you think that's bad, wait till they find out he is the the king of the socialists! Oh there will be hell to pay I tell you!!!!

I would think that his whole "no heaven for the wealthy" platform would prevent him from running on a Republican platform.

No, no, that's just an allegory. The parts about hating gay people, those are totally literal, but Jesus is all about the Benjamins.

Which one of these two suits is selling Jesus, and which one is buying?

Actually, Jesus is the guy on the right. He just sold the homeless robed man into indentured servitude. After all, God helps those that help themselves. The homeless man is just a lazy no-good communist expecting hand outs.

Why is Jesus being played by Keanu Reeves? Why is Tom Hanks in this picture?

So many questions...

Played by Keanu? No, Keanu is Jesus, and He was sent here to test us.

Suddenly, that Rapture on Saturday doesn't seem so bad.

I think the guy on the left looks like Kirk Cameron.

That would put too many people out of their jobs and make many businesses lose money. I don't think the Republicans would like the idea that the US Gov't competing with private businesses by providing free health care. I bet Jesus would have to sign a contract that he won't perform any miracle while in office unless he's behind on the polls.

So... Jesus bought a black dude to clean his office. Classy.

I wonder what laptop The Savior is rockin'.
