Assassin's Creed Revelations

Through being slightly insecure about their teaser, NeoGAF have uncovered this little image:

No real idea what the title will be about, except for the theme of relieving people of their vital fluids. I think if it was a brand new setting and characters were involved there would be a "3" involved, although there was AC:Bloodlines going along with the AC2 release.

I hope it's about an invasion of the holy lands by a northern army out of the Caucuses or steppes.

New stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-Tgy...
A strange stone with spiral writing on it? Exploring the new world? It would tie into AC2 quite nicely with a link to Cristina (cousin of Amerigo).

Sweet, I just finished the storyline of Brotherhood. Great news.

GAF turns up this: http://www.crystalinks.com/phaistosd... - which also ties into AC. No idea if it's filling in details or moving onto a new time period.

If it was AC3, they would have to figure out where to put the third hidden blade.

The hidden third blade is his penis.

No, hidden blade.

Oddly satisfying.

Istanbul, 1459?

Ezio's father, running around the East Mediterranean?

Can you imagine if that was an entry requirement to being an assassin.

"Just put your finger out and you'll be an assassin. Oh, and your penis too, it will be replaced by a hidden blade."

The Templars would win by default. No one would want to join the assassins.

That certainly looks like the Hagia Sophia.

Imagine what they ask the women to do...

Hey now, she's beautiful on the inside. No need to call her a hag.

Ezio's 40. No wife, no kids (that he knows about), no family. Just the triple blades, a bro-hug from Leonardo and a great story about waking up next to Catherine Sforza when a freaking cannonball blasted his wall open.

Always been the saddest part of the game, to me. That's all Ezio is, just an assassin.

Though, I guess he's got to have a kid at some point, right? Seeing as he's in Desmond's DNA?

I'm still wondering if they'll make anything of the small scene in Acre in AC2. It just seems a bit 'pistol on the mantelpiece'.

UBISOFT® UNSHEATHES ASSASSIN’S CREED® REVELATIONS

Final Chapter in the Ezio Trilogy Arrives in November

SAN FRANCISCO – May 5, 2011 – Today, Ubisoft announced the development of Assassin’s Creed® Revelations, the fourth installment in the critically acclaimed and immensely popular video game franchise. Developed and led by Ubisoft Montreal with the support and expertise of Ubisoft studios Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest, Assassin’s Creed Revelations presents the most immersive experience available in the series to date and the culmination of Ezio’s adventure. The game is set to release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC this November.

Initially launched in 2007, the first three Assassin’s Creed® games have sold more than 28 million units worldwide, and the franchise is now established as one of the best-selling series on next generation consoles. Recognized for having some of the richest, most engrossing storytelling in the industry, Assassin’s Creed has transcended video games, branching out into other entertainment experiences such as comic books, Facebook, novels, short films and more.

In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.

In addition to Ezio’s award-winning story, the acclaimed online multiplayer experience returns, refined and expanded, with more modes, more maps and more characters that allow players to test their assassin skills against others from around the world. The latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga also includes revolutionary gameplay, allowing players to manipulate the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future.

“Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for us and for our fans,” said Alexandre Amancio, Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal. “Assassin’s Creed Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year.”

Additional details on Assassin’s Creed Revelations can be found in an exclusive feature in the June issue of Game Informer Magazine, available this month.

PC release at the same time!

Ezio looks a little old now: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...

So no AC3 this year. >Sigh<

Then again, at least when the inevitable AC3 rolls around, it will be a new era and character...assuming they stick to "The Last of the Ezio Trilogy"

EDIT: Various places are reporting that Ezio, Desmond, and Altair will be played at different points. Assuming these are meaningful sequences (akin to the Desmond bits in AC:B), I declare this to be awesome.

At some point they have to deliver the end to the story and stop saying "but wait... there's more", but with the current quality of the AC series I don't mind if they go on a while longer. I just hope the stories presented in the various eras is interesting, I loved the conspiracy and chasing down connections in AC2, and ACB dialed it down a little from there. I hope they don't run out of steam.

And we have images!

Revelations promises answers (right there in the title, guys) within the game's cryptic, multi-generational plot -- spread out between three playable characters: A distinguished Ezio, who ventures to Constantinople amid the rise of the Ottoman Empire; 12th-century assassin Altair; and the descendant who ties them all together, Desmond.

Sounds enticing!

Lookin good. Lookin good. I can definitely wait on AC3 if they are releasing something with Altair and Ezio.

Edit: Another thought - they did such an amazing job with the ACB PC port. I have yet to see a game that implemented Eyefinity as well. The mouse/keyboard controls work insanely better than the gamepad controls, and everything was very stable. Now that they figured out how to do all that porting, I'm not surprised that it will have a supposed same day release as the console versions.

I am enticed. Extremely enticed.

That moment is coming, but it seems like its a long way off. AC has the advantage of being able to insert itself practically anywhere in history, where they have, honestly, too much material. They clearly had a moment while charting the path in AC2 where someone stepped back, checked their history text, saw what they had in the game and declared "...f*ck." For some reason it hasn't spawned imitators, either...seemingly at all. The Saboteur is the closest thing that comes to mind. My guess is we won't have cause to review opinions until 2013 (assuming they don't try an Ezio prequel in 2012).

It's going to happen eventually, so I may as well get the They Might Be Giants joke out of the way now. Ready?

"Constantinople? Not Istanbul?"

Please please please release for PC at the same time! PLEASE!!!

They've said they will release all at same time in the past, then all of a sudden, PC gets delayed for a few months.

Story sounds good. At first I was a little hesitant at more Ezio, but it's not AC3 yet, so I can take some more.

Hmmm, this reminds me, I need to finish Brotherhood. Assassin's Creed (2 and beyond) is pretty good stuff.

His outfit looks like he should be on sentry duty in Siberia rather than running across rooftops near the Med. I hope they give him a lighter outfit (herumph.)

I just started Super AssCreed Bros. this past weekend and I'm having a nice time with it. The plot is cuckoo though, especially having never played, or really paid attention to, the prior games. Suddenly taking control of a dude in hoodie and jeans in order to jury rig fuse boxes was... unexpected. I am intrigued by where the plan to take all the craziness.

Skipping the first one is totally fine, but if you aren't going to play AssCreed 2, you might want to at least brush up on the story of it. Brotherhood continues the story of 2 directly, so some things might get confusing otherwise.
