In recruiting news, the following UTEP targets have announced their decisions:
- (***) K Chris Green has committed to Alabama

Big game this week between NIU and Buffalo. Can Firesloth redeem himself?!?!

Still NO commitments yet. Seems like a lot of us are slow this season.

I was thinking the same. I only have 1

Yeah, just one for me, too. I figured it had to do with targeting so many 4* recruits.

On the plus side, SMU wins their second rgsme of the season, nearly picking up a shutout. But my defense did pick up a safety when Memphis was called for holding in the end zone.

I'm feeling like we have hit a balance wit these sliders. My freshman got his 100 yards, but it did not come easy. And I am also finding fecievers getting open now.

I've gotten like 5 or 6 commits. Filled all my needs except K.

I even got a 4* WR instant.

HACKER!@!

They're pity commits because they see terrible things in UTEP's future.

EMU holds on to beat Kent 41-35. After storming out to a 21-0 lead, and then a 31-14 halftime lead, Kent's defense turned it up about 708574 notches and was unreal. I was unable to pass for crap the rest of the game and stuck hard to the run. David Spears saves the day.

What's your schedule like this week, Firesloth?

I could possibly do late tonight, although that depends on the Sabres game not going into crazy overtime, and I kinda want to watch the Chicago-Vancouver tilt after that. I'll make it work, though, if it's good for you.

It *might* be a good night for me to do it. Tomorrow and Thursday are both possibilities. I the later options are more likely to work for me. Why don't you plan on watching hockey tonight. If the Chicago game is boring, drop me a line. We'll shoot for tomorrow with Thursday as a fallback.

Also, with regards to the next two weeks of this season: I have a bye in week 6 and then play Leroy in week 7. I have to leave town Monday, May 2, and won't return until Thursday, May 5. So, that could delay us a bit depending on when we get to week 7. I'll also be gone May 15 - May 18, though I don't think this will hurt us as much.

Just got my first commit from a 3* HB. He instant committed while saying: "I'll get back to you on that real soon."

Yeah, just one for me, too. I figured it had to do with targeting so many 4* recruits.

I don't know what it is, but of the 8 or so 4* players that had much interest in me (say top 5-7 at the beginning of the season), only one was over 200 lbs. There were about 4 WRs and a bunch of potential defensive secondary players listed as ATH. One ATH is a potential TE/LB at 215 lbs with the right skill set for those positions.

I have not had the problem. In fact, I have a 4* QB that has me at #1 that weighs in at 246 lbs. Last season, it was all HB's and WR's when it came ot the few 4*'s that had interested. But this season I have 18, and they are both offense and offense, and a nice selection of OL and DL.

I don't think my 0-3 start is helping. But I think I should start getting some wins within the conference. If I had left the settings, this would be going so much easier.

In the other league, I had zero 4* interest.

Firesloth, what are your plans for tonight? I know in the other thread that you were planning on playing Leroy tonight. I'm cool with that. We can do tomorrow night, if you want, or I should be avaialble tonight if your date with Leroy falls through.

Let's see if I can get any of these in tonight, as right now I feel like crap. You probably have first dibs on a game, but I think it will be harder to sync up with Leroy, so I suggest I play him if he's available tonight. If that doesn't work out, I'm happy to take my abuse from you instead. Tomorrow should be good, though.

I'll be home in about an hour. I'm willing to play my game while the draft is going on. It's only the draft. My team picks 13th and I'm sure it'll be a crappy pick.

NIU wins a heart stopper, 25-24, with coach Firesloth's brilliant call to go for two with the score 24-23 and only eight seconds left to play.

Buffalo blew this one, scoring a touchdown with 55 seconds left instead of sitting on the ball and kicking a field goal to win it.

Great game, Firesloth. You deserved that one. It was an all-time classic.

Also, I lost James Potts for four weeks, after he set the school rushing yards and touchdown records for his career earlier in the game.

Good thing I'm deep at running back, as his backup is actually rated higher than he is.

Damn it, now I really need to win against him.

That was a crazy close game. The stats were super consistent between the two teams. I don't remember any turnovers by either side. Each of us had a failed 4th down conversion. (I was sure I'd be able to punch mine in on that first drive from the 2 yard line.) There was a lot of good defense, and a good amount of quality offense, as well.

I uploaded your last play. The way your QB ducked under that sure sack and scrambled out, I was sure that 8 seconds on the clock was going to be too many!!

Rolled.
