Here's a gnarly picture of my battle wound. Consider that a warning not to look if you're squeamish, though as incisions and staples go I'm told it's very good/healthy.
Wow, that's amazing. Nice of them to leave the neighboring hair so you can do some kind of Donald Trump comb-over!
Krev, I'm so glad you're doing well. That's a awesome and frightening picture you posted. I say, keep it shaved so everyone can alwys see it and know how cool you are.
Kurgan?
I'm so glad they caught it in time, Krev! I hope everything comes back clean with no nasty chemo.
That post-op picture really is impressive - chicks dig scars?
OK krev, time for the really important question...
Did they let you keep the tumor in a jar?
KREV. Did they let you keep the tumor? Tell us.
Goodness, Krev! What a stunning few weeks you've had! Keep us posted on your follow-up stuff. I'm so glad things have gone well so far.

haha no, they took it to do the pathology. Sounds like they run a whole gammit of tests to measure cell growth, the tumour's genetics, etc. They have some sort of tumour group which meets each week to review the cases from the last week to make a call as to the nature and how to move forward so as of yet Tuesday is the waiting day.
I'm gonna see if I can get a picture or copy or the MRI or something though.
Bah. "Pathology." That's science talk for, "this is going to look AWESOME on my coffee table."
Either way, I hope this is the only one you'll have to deal with.

Yeah, that, and you're set if you ever have to hide in a bag of softballs.

EDIT: Derp! Read that wrong. Nevermind.
I keep reading the title and adding, "I'm gonna let it shine"
That is pretty nuts, but good to see you've bounced back well. Here's hoping that's the end of it and there's nothing else to come.
Have you noticed any difference in your sensory or memory faculties?
Wikipedia says[/url]]The temporal lobe is involved in auditory perception and is home to the primary auditory cortex. It is also important for the processing of semantics in both speech and vision. The temporal lobe contains the hippocampus and plays a key role in the formation of long-term memory.

That tune's been stuck in my head since I first read this thread yesterday.
So glad to hear that you're doing well Krev! And that's one HELL of an battle scar! Here's to your good health in the future.
Just a bit of a note of self-interest:
A bit after I agreed to the surgery which had a 5% chance of stroke/hemorrhage/etc (potentially resulting in half-body paralysis, blindness, inability to speak, etc) I remembered that 5% is 1 in 20. Then I remembered my tabletop gaming days and just how frighteningly common critical fumbles can seem sometimes!
Thankfully I landed in the 19/20 range and they got as much as they could (but some residual cells maybe? not really clear on that, I'm sure they'll explain it better tomorrow).
Which edition of surgery was the doctor using? Maybe he just took 10 on his skill check.
The nerditude! It burns!
Grats on the early detection and recovery! Gotta love modern medicine!
Keep on healing, Krev!
Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully it's low-grade and you're in the sweet spot for a healthy recover. good luck!
Holy hell, I can't imagine anything scarier to be ambushed by (with the possible exception of a couple of the forumites). Glad to hear that's it's looking positive. Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery!
edit: missed the update, sorry to hear that, here's hoping for better news in the future. All the best Krev.
No...not more waiting!

Gahhhh! My one weakness. Telling me not to search for something!
They all seemed tame to me, except for the one with the human woman breastfeeding little baby Krogans.
