Rift 1.1 New Content

You lose some, but by and large it's not an extreme amount, and the benefit to easier/faster questing significantly outweighs the experience penalty.

Effectively, friends and guildies can group up without as much fretting over lvl diff.

The only time it's a major concern is going into instances more than 3 lvls above you because of the one shot issues.

That's good to know. I won't worry so much anymore when someone is 10 levels above me in a dungeon.

That's why I stuck pretty much to healing in DSM. I only wanted completion, not xp.

How are the level 50 events rings for 300 otherworld shards? Are they worth getting or will be replaced by better drops quickly once running dungeons/crafted gear ...

I am trying to figure out what to save up for

They are pretty good, better then what I have now as a lvl 50 running T1 dungeons. There are better faction rewards if you want to do a lot of dailies though!

I plan on getting the 500 guise though, it makes you look different depending on your class and it does NOT break during combat!

Where is this ring vendor?

The ring vendor and World Event dailies person is in Meridian mulling about the Death Planar machinery next to the Portal Arch.

There is also one in the rift faction room off of the manufactury area.

It also does not let you mount

That's not a big deal. The guise is a trinket and you can pull it to your action bars. I got it last night, it looks pretty cool. There are fighting animations but only a few not as many as regular character ones though.

Any link to what they look like? Theres 2 rings that might be nice to have, and they're functional. Also, where's this spectral mount we heard about? I haven't seen it on the vendor.

The spectral mount is a drop. I got mine from an invasion reward. I also got an 18 slot bag (or chest, technically, the "Grave Goods Box"). I haven't had any of the special weapons drop, though.

So we need to participate in invasions to get the special drops? I know I've done many rifts, and an invasion or two, I might just not have been lucky yet. I haven't received anything but standard rift rewards.

Does the Death Form trinket make you non-aggro for undead mobs, or is it purely cosmetic?

Cosmetic.

I prefer the purple haze shade touch. A really nice aesthetic that I'm going to miss if I roll an alt. Don't ask me why running around with a purple glow makes me so happy but it does. I'm close to 500 stones now and I am debating whether to get the death cosmetic item or all the pets and the trinket...choices choices...

Since I can turn into a Lich, I'm a little weary about using a trinket to turn into a skeleton. Anyone have a screenshot? I've still never seen it.

I also have 600 stones and I am debating on what to do with them.

The "advice" was to get the trinket, which is BoE, and not use it. Sleep on it a while and then try to sell it to people that were not around for the event.

I got the trinket myself, but I'm contemplating spending the rest of my stones on accessories. Even if they'll be eventually replaced, I will have gotten bunch of use out of them anyways. So it's worth my time.

I think I'm going to buy stuff I'll use with my stones. IF I get back to 500 before they remove the vender, then I'll buy this. I don't think turning into the necro pet is going to be that desireable in the future.

At 60 stones per day + rewards from rifts the count goes up pretty quickly. I already bought myself a level 50 ring and I'm eyeing the shard for my focus(?) next. I think I'm one quest away from it by now. Neat thing is that most of those rewards are 'unique' so you can't have more than one anyways.

Zero interest in pets though. Did anybody buy any of those?

I bought the hound just because I'd already bought the shard for my focus and had no interest in saving up for the guise, the rings I had were already better, and I had no interest in the stat trinket. The hound is actually the only pet I have. I'm just not big into collect vanity pets. I wish they actually did something.

I actually bought everything available over the course of the event (guise, touch, 3 pets, trinket ring and lesser belt thing).

What does the touch do?

Touch of the shade just gives your guy a purple haze around them and can be reused, iirc. There's also a 10 point item that will give your weapons a purple haze aroudn them but it's only good for 24 hours.

So the quest givers are gone this morning. The merchant has moved into the Planar College.

Any word on when they are sending out those event care packages?

Nothing specific.

I'm curious to know if anybody opened their shadetouched weapon cache yet? I'm having trouble finding the last two pieces (previous of which I got from invasions).

Just run rifts.

So I just patched and gotten the mail. In the mail is a box. In the box is an item that gives a quest. The quest rewards a choice of shadebound chests. I don't know if the chest is purified or if you have to still go through the whole quest for it.
