Ahahahaha. Best laugh I've had from a game in ages.

I love GLaDOS's fat jokes.

Yeah, same here. I'm not quite on board with Wheatley. Especially because of the aforementioned overdose of Stephen Merchant. I also didn't love the early stuff from the 3rd voice. I thought it was way over the top. But as soon as GLaDOS showed up things got 100% better.

I loved one of the first jokes.

Spoiler:

Press space to speak.

It's rare for a game to make me laugh at loud, but that part did.

Four hours in!

Spoiler:

I found Wheatley really annoying as well, and then It Happened.

Spoiler:

I know we're in big trouble and probably about to die, but that was worth it

Oh GLaDOS, don't ever change

The video performance in this game is astounding. I'm running 1920x1080, 16xCSAA, 16x Anisotropic, everything maxed, vsync on, and the fraps counter never moves off of 60 fps. Gorgeous!

Finished single-player and wow, it just keeps getting better and better. Took around six hours, but the game just keeps building up on itself so it doesn't feel short at all. The experience more like a six-hour excellent movie than a normal game, there is no downtime unless you get stuck and so many great moments. And I haven't even touched the co-op mode yet.

But since Valve included their in-game store, I'd have to give the overall game a 5/10.

To bad I won't be able to dive into the co-op until 11 PM, hope to play with some of you late tonight!

Up to chapter 4 now. Having a blast still. Wheatley, male computer voice, Glados, all entertaining so far.

Back to it!

Gonna need a link to that Steam profile!

Sorry about that. Thanks again.

While I think the performance is great, I find the character highly irritating.

Yeah seriously, I'm running it on an old GT8800 video card and most stuff stays on high detail and doesn't go below 60fps, really good graphics.

The intro was amazing, for me they finally surpassed the train sequence from Half life in terms of "Damn that's impressive!"

That's amazing. Pretty cool teacher. Irresponsible-ish? yeah, kinda. But he is making up the lecture though. Awesome? Awesome sauce!!

Is this legit or just funny?

I do have one complaint about Portal 2. My complaint is that I'm not playing it right now. Stupid job!

Would it be wrong of me as a parent to whisk my 8 month old daughter off to bed right away this evening even if she wasn't tired just so I could play portal 2?

Not at all. Just put a dash of bourbon in her bottle and you're good to go.

I read that as "whisky my 8 month old daughter..." That's one way to get them to sleep.

Best part so far (Chapter 6)

Spoiler:

slow clap

Honestly, I'm getting more stuck on the gel puzzles than I'd like to be. It's frustrating when you don't have just the right kinetic motion. There have been a few times within the first handful of gel puzzles that I've got an inch short of the goal, but I didn't do it "right." I don't care about being perfect, I just want to solve a puzzle.

Spoiler for Chapter 5 (I think)

Spoiler:

I'm really loving the loading in this game. When Wheatley finally breaks you out there's this epic score and sense of tension as Glados tries to stop you. But wait, there's a loading screen! Terrific. Oh, and in Chapter 6 when you fall, that's a whole level in itself. Really?

So, I could use some help for the beginning of Chapter 6.

Spoiler:

What do I do? I just finished falling, Chell sort of stands up so the viewpoint shifts after Glados in potato battery form gets carried away by a bird, and then... nothing. I just can't do anything and nothing happens. I can't move, I can't look around... it just sits. What's the deal?

Sounds like you're stuck on terrain or something. I don't recall having any issues with that section.

I've restarted the chapter... I don't see how I can get stuck when I never get to move in the first place, and it's the end of a cutscene.

Spoiler:

You have to get through the wreckage into a nearby building, although I'm pretty sure you can move around and stuff. The building has a bunch of "DO NOT ENTER" signs, it's easy to see after you walk around a bit. But you can definitely move, maybe your game is bugged?

Ok, well... have to say I'm pretty pissed. I can't progress from where I'm at. I can't move, I can't even look around. I can load an older savegame and resume from like three chapters ago, or I can resume at the start of this chapter, watch the same cutscene over again, and then not ever be able to move or even look around.

Wow, Chapter 6.

Also, after Ch 5, now I understand...

Spoiler:

what all this potato nonsense was about.

Can't you enable a developer console and move through a wall? I haven't checked the options but it's the Source engine, you can always do that in their games...

Yeah, Mex has a lot of experience with the haxx0rs in Source games

Picked it up for Ps3, and love it. It is recycled from the first game, but I loved the first game. So hit me up on steam of psn for multi player this weekend.

Trying to remember... "sv_cheats 1", then "noclip"?

Getting into the later stages now, and the levels are awesome, some of the best 'real world' style stuff they've done. I just wish they implemented seamless joins between levels.
