You have the robot devil's hands don't you?
Also, how am I supposed to keep track of you if you keep changing your avatars people?

I didn't know you cared.
I put the original back.

Aww, I liked your new one. It was thematically the same, which helps identify posters. I try to keep mine similar in one respect or another. Tomorrow I switch to my play-offs avatar.

I could have swore I saw Marsman change it twice yesterday. I could be crazy, though. I did make it through college without the help of caffeine.
Finished my first marble faceting project tonight:
Front view to show how the colors bounce off the facets and fill the entire marble with bright colors
Angled side view to show only the orange swirl
Side view to show color swirl inside
Progression from smooth round marble to faceted gem here.
Is this how one trains to be a diamond cutter?

Not specifically using marbles, but yeah diamond cutters have to learn to facet on something. I don't plan on cutting diamonds myself. Too pricy.
I'll be sticking to the semi-precious stones like garnet, peridot, amethyst, etc. As well as inexpensive but neat materials like marbles and beach glass.
He He, I just found an old folder from a 3d for games public interest course I took at the local community college about eight years ago. All quite bad, I'm sure; especially by today's standards.
Hey, any pics of that dragon humping that car?

Ask and ye shall receive.
It takes a while before it gets into Dragon Humping Car territory, but you need the full story.
You can thank (or curse) me later.
He doesn't know of he who must not be named??
Wow, I might not persue that. You linked me into a story about a guy making out with a gay guy to impress a girl.
I have to admit to being almost completely disinterested in the boogle dating thread.
Is the tie in because of some anthropomorphic furry fettish?

Tip of the iceberg, Ghostship.
Yeah wow. When I made those models it was about a game mod at mod db .com
I really didn't know about the world of furries then. I'm beginning to understand and feel naive. Thanks to the boogle thread link. Please tell me it doesn't go further then the first foxy yummytime drawing. What has been seen can't be unseen.
The mod was called Kingdom Lost. Does that have some perverse internet meaning too?
I chose the it because the character concept art was high quality.

I think that's about where it starts to really get funny as the Goodjer collective starts to weigh in with Photoshops and whatnot.
It gets better, Ghostship. Trust me, you'll become immunized to this sort of thing once you've gone through it.
Nice models, btw. Better than I've been able to do in 14 years of occasional hobby modeling.

*edit* swapped out images. they're hosted on my professional webspace.
and this car animation which only seems to work if you start media player first and it's file>open. No idea what I used to encode it. I have sequenced TGA images of all my models from this which I had assembled into a mpg reel, but no idea where that file went over the years.
Some little pixel art character illustrations, partially done for practice, but also to use in a mock-up for a card game I'm working on:
And here are two wedding save-the-dates I just finished that I was working on simultaneously, which couldn't be more different.
For a friend, done as their wedding present. They asked for something nerdy, and suggested something inspired by the Dr. Wily stage maps from Mega Man. I decided to go with an Adventure Time look. The building on the hill is the Lawrence Hall of Science:
And for a client, something much more traditional. I decided to try a new technique -- working in vector, then pulling it into Photoshop for texturing, background and details. I learned that the spirograph patterns on money are known as guilloché patterns:

They just call them that so you'll never suspect it's actually just a guy at the mint with a spirograph.
I hear spirograph's about to make a comeback.
Thank you, I was looking for that image but gave up.

Man, I bet it's all crazy high tech, too, with like 3, maybe even 4 spirographs all hooked up together with metal rods to save some time.
People were asking about this because they saw it in the background of a picture I posted in the Silly Purchases thread, so I thought I'd share here. I'm participating in a 3D character contest, and just completed the details of my character's back/spine.
It's not really any specific engine, but I sort of fashioned parts after mostly Chevy and Hemi motors. They are going into this guy's back:
And there will be spider legs made of exhaust pipes. And all will rejoice in the burning hot glow of my God of Metal.
Hope you like, I'll definitely post more when I'm done in a few weeks.
Awesome looking engine, but it needs more scoop and less filter.

Thanks! I started out with a scoop, but I figured from a design standpoint the exposed carburetors and air filter would be more visually interesting since this will be running lengthwise down his spine.
I'm enjoying my new craft room we setup a few weeks ago. Here's my newest chain design: Floating circles bracelet, Argentium Sterling and 14/20 Gold Filled.
Thats beautiful!

Thanks! I made another last night, but it hasn't been tumbled, so it's not shiny enough for viewing yet.
Here's bits and pieces -- pictures taken by a student -- of my high school's final week of rehearsal on You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
You've got a shot of me (from behind, in the white shirt) consulting with the Pit on the number "Book Report" (and you can see the actor's giant pencils and writing pads);
And that's me again, though I'm not sure what I'm doing. Facing away is our Sally:
A hero shot of our actor playing Linus:
And two of our actors who are what I'm calling "Living Scenery." One is dressed as a bunny for the "Rabbit Chasing" pantomime:
It goes up this weekend; I'm sure I'll have pictures of the finished production -- it's way cool.
