*Release* Rift - I played it!

I played for like an hour. I had a sword and I hit stuff with it. It felt pretty ok. I can see why people like it.

I'm pretty sure that your amount of time played, the weapons you played with, and your opinions on the game all warrant their own individual threads. Glad you can see why people like it though.

Your comment really should have been a thread of its own.

I can see at least 5 separate threads worth here. why are you trying to cram so much into one thread?

1. I played for like an hour.
2. I had a sword.
3. I hit stuff with it.
4. It felt pretty ok.
5. I can see why people like it.

I'm so glad more than Lawk, Cheeto and I notice this.

hugs all around!

And why didn't you explain this in separate threads?

I expect a thread for each huggee.

Now, now, I think you guys are just jealous. With all the Rift and SWTOR threads, the forum has gone from the WoW forum back to the MMO forum!

Now, don't you have a 1,567 heroic to run?

I'm on the trial, and this one really has me tempted, which is saying something as I thought I was 'over' subscription MMOs. I'm sure this is old news for anyone who's paid the smallest bit of attention, the thing that does it for me is the rifts. Without seeing the rifts, my impression was of just a WoW clone, PvE on one side and PvP on another like so many MMOs, but the rifts and world events actually make the world feel active. I like that you can log into the world being ripped a new one by the enemy.

I'm just not sure if I can be bothered by the sub right now with so many other games around, but it's definitely caught my eye like very few MMOs have. I think they were very wise to open up trials so early in it's life.

How do you get the trial?

This may come as a surprise, but there's a thread for it.

Thanks!

LOL

I love how Scratched turned this into a real thread instead of a passive aggressive commentary on the sheer number of Rift threads. Good on you, Scratched!

What's the inverse of trolling?

We are just stealing your thread for other stuff Oily

But, have tried Rift. Seems ok, until I noticed the subscription fee. That's what held me off from ever playing WOW.
Still had a look at it, but it's too rich for my blood. 60 Euro (82$US) for 6 months = so 12US$ per month... just
too much. Especially with other good MMOs around that have no monthly fees.
And they do let you run around as well, with a sword even. You can hit stuff and feel good about it.

I support this thread!

cheeto, are you playing? If so I will heal you.

No I am not playing...

I know I know... should have started my own thread about not playing it. Damn me!

Historically there have been periodic complaints about the proliferation of WoW threads. Which culminated in passage of the MMORPG Rules after a controversial "deem and pass" procedure.

But seriously, at least the Rift threads are all clearly labeled so you can distinguish them from the legion of WoW threads. I say this as someone who played and enjoyed both WoW and Rift, but recently let both subscriptions expire. ;P

this forum ebbs and flows depending on what people are playing. It's nice to see some new ones from time to time that isnt WoW. Fact that there's still so many WoW posts is just a testament to the game and the folkes here who play.
