GWJ2STAR 2.0 - Off-Season

Week 2 ready!

done.

Week 2 is in the books.

Calling Mr. Beans!

I would like to advance the week every morning. Right now we are waiting on Marshall. I'd like to make this officially a 24 hour time limit for recruiting. Since it wasn't the plan officially, I'm not going to roll without giving Beans a chance to get his in.

But unless there are some objections, from here on out, it will be 24 hours, and I will roll each morning. As always, if you message me here or through Xbox Live, I always grant extensions.

Any thoughts?

Doesn't take more than 5 minutes for this part of the season. The only step that's tricky is position changes. The Preseason deserves more time too.

I'm on auto, right? I've set myself to autopilot so that the computer can handle recruiting unless I want to get involved.

Yep. You, and I think Hansom, are.

Which part of pre-season? I agree that position changes take a little time.

Preseason is one big step. Recruits, red shirts, and depth charts. You get to handle the schedule

I'm still on Auto too right? You can sim mine through the 5 weeks of recruiting, I only had 2-3 schol's left. I'll jump off auto when we start cutting/redshirting. Thanks!!

So half of us will need an additional school added.

My first thought is to add a school from the 2013 schedule that will keep the strength of schedule the same. My second thought was to randomly match those four schools up with each other. My third thought is to let you guys pick a school, with the caveat that you need to keep the strength of schedule about the same.

Give me someone ranked between 10-20 that will make me balanced with everyones SoS

I will do that. I offered to schedule a tougher schedule last year for a team with an insanely weak SoS.

What I want to avoid is just popping top 10 teams in to make the SoS a ton better for recruiting. The idea was to keep recruiting as hard as possible. But at the same time, I want to pile on the schools that are stuck with opponents that are no fun to play, either.

My non-conferance schedule sucked balls last year. Michigan, Penn State, Clemson.....eek

I must have screwed up. You should have had Michigan and Penn state, but not Clemson. I'm not sure I how I got them on your schedule. They would have played Troy, has Bill Bonney continued with us.

Here is the site I use for info.

NExt year is gonna suck. @ Penn State @ Rutgers.

You could replace Iowa with SMU.

Or UT Martin.

I'd like either a human or a ranked opponent. I need more quality losses.

I'm "OK" with that schedule as it will keep my strength of schedule lower. Hopefully they start scheduling me decent teams to play against!

I'd also be willing to schedule a human opponent if someone needs it, and if the SoS stays balanced. I haven't played anyone but the AI yet. Or I could wait to see one of you in a Bowl Game!

Check the MAC schedules out and let Airicc play one of us MAC guys that only gets 1 human opponent during the regular season. In season 1, I had both Counselor and Fire, and then Counselor again in the championship game. In season 2, Fire had us both and then Counselor again in the championship. That'll even us MACers out.

I sent a PM to Beans on Thursday morning. I have not heard back yet. I checked the league last night, and we are still waiting on him to recruit. I could set him to autopilot, and then we can move on. His team is second to last in recruiting in the NCAA. So I don't low if this means I should give him more of a chance to get some guys, or if recruiting is not a priority, and autopilot would help him out.

Suggestions?

Give him today and then roll. I'm pretty sure we had a 3 day rolling period going regardless unless otherwise noted.

I say roll this evening in this case, then go to ~24 hour periods. That may actually be harder over the weekend.

On another note: I'd like to vote in favor of everyone having at least *one* human opponent. I know we're going to step up the difficulty, but that's still not like having a human v. human game on your schedule. Maybe we could designate certain weeks as the ones in which those games get played...this would keep the schedule fast the rest of the time. That may be harder on our commish, though.

Fire and I will always have a game against each other so I suggested that Airric and Counselar play as well. The championship game should always wield a human/human game in the MAC though. But I agree, at least 1 human vs human game this season.

I thought about moving to the Sunbelt and let Counselar and Firesloth control the MAC......

but I've become fond of my EMU team.

I agree too, maybe I should play DS (Nevada) each year due to the geographic closeness. I'll be willing to play whichever MAC team doesn't have 2 human games as well.

Another thought would be if I moved into one of your conferences or if someone were ever to join me in the MWC. I could also move to the WAC. Although I like my SDSU team, since they are still a "2-star" this would be the best time to switch to a different 2-star team if it made the league more balanced.

Leroy, I'd be willing to move to the SunBelt with you for sure! Let me know. We could make the UL Lafayette/UL Monroe rivalry meaningful! I like some of the teams in there, and it'd be a huge challenge (they are all at EMU's prestige level).

I don't blame you for staying though, EMU must have been hard to build up so high..But maybe your coach is into reclamation projects instead of jumping for bigger name programs!

Sun Belt teams:

Arkansas State
FAU
FIU
UL Lafayette
UL Monroe
MTSU
Troy
WKU

I think this is all of them for football.

Jeez, you guys are bad as the NCAA in real life. We are in for full scale realignment?

Just kidding. Folks are free to swap teams if they want.

But I can makes sure teams that don't have human opponents get them. I think up to two human games a year would be a nice addition. I didn't get my head-to head game until the lat game of the season. But we could definitely arrange schedules to get at least one human game. I think two might be worth the trouble.

We might be worse than the real life presidents of the schools!

I think it would make it more difficult for me having another user in my conference and being with a Sun Belt team. SDSU was a talented 1-star school, and now I have a lot of 3-star players after the 13-0 season. With the new difficulty, a few human games, and a D- school, I may not win 6 games!

EMU doesn't play the Sister Mary of our Sister schools!!!!! [/OSU President]

I'm happy at EMU. It's a hometown thing. I live 2 minutes from the stadium.
