RIFT - Saga of the Endless vs. GWJ

Ok. So we've got a lot of folks coming up the ranks and getting into the Saga of the Endless quests.

Here's the thought. How about we get together one day, (Saturday, 9 April ok??), and form up guild groups to run folks through this quest series with one another?

Participation will be voluntary and first come first serve, but I will make myself available to help out anyone who needs it for those quests.

If possible, please reply with where you are at, or plan to be, in the series, and we can try to put folks into groups on, or near the same steps to burn these down for any interested.

I figure if they can have a world event, we can have a guild event...

I'm currently on the Moonshade Highlands portion where I'm trying to track down some lady that apparently will have 3 elites with her. I'm all about getting this chain of quests done and will be happy to help out.

Thanks for the help, Alexicacon. It's always nice to have higher levels interested in helping the newbies out. I just have a few questions.

Is this the "epic" quest that starts in Freemarch?
If not, what level does this quest start?
What level do people need to start getting help?

Yes, you will need early help because it will send you into IT a couple of times. Also some of the quests spawn elites so unless you are ahead of them you will need to group up.

This is on the right side of the big fortress, right above where you fight the last guy for the moonshade storyline.

Feel free to ask in chat for help als, i know the level 50s have been doing T1 dungeons but i definitely don't mind helping people.

I wasn't sure at first if this had needed a few Zone Wide events for Scarlet Gorge but this where I am The Saga of the Endless:Trophies of Death

I guess I have mull about the Zone until a few death rifts open and hope at chance that Stage 5 Elites will have it on them.

One of the 2 latest hotfixes says you only need to close the rift now to get credit for that.

It's nice that the quest doesn't say ANYTHING about closing death rifts. It would be a bit more obvious if there weren't mobs named ENDLESS all over the freaking area where you get the quest...

Here is where I left off at:
The Saga of the Endless: On the Trail of Evil
it looks to require at minimum of a 2 man party to expediently defeat the cursed bones of a former miner......a cursed "elite" level 40 skeleton that hits fairly consistently for 990dps vs level 50 characters and has 51k health.

I'm not wasting any more of my time attempting to kite it around solo and survive the fight, so I'm shelving the quest line, despite the nifty purple items that can be found towards the end of the whole thing. They might be comparable to what can be obtain from expert dungeon delving, but I haven't done enough experts to know.

I am on the same step. Why are you giving up? I know I heard some of the 50s say they'd help people finish these quests if we needed it. I'm going to ask tonight if a bunch are on and not doing experts.

I'm personally still stuck on the Iron Tomb segment. I tried soloing it the other day but it didn't work.

I can help you with that. 2 of our level can do it, especially w/ me healing.

I can step in and help for the earlier stages if need be. I'm currently at the Perdeen rift part. I've almost got the requirements to open the rift (I'm two malformed off). So if we can get a group up to speed we could open the rift and do this thing.

Just a FYI, expert rifts are challenging (lvl 52 elite)especially the last stages which are timed and your group make-up may not have the dps for. I would definitely call in some help or open it near others so PUGs join the fun. BUT make sure your group is private, anyone in a raid with you when you open the reward chest will be able to roll on the loot.

I am also on this stage, so if anyone is getting a group together, let me know. MAybe we should schedule something? Can we schedule to do it on Fri around 9pm EST or so? Maybe we can get a bunch of people caught up to this stage by then. At lvl 45+, you can solo everything until the lvl 40 quest line, where you need 1 or 2 people to help with killing a few elites (stonefield and moonstone parts). Besides those two parts, getting to the raid stage of the quest is trivial, if not time consuming.

Make sure you use Rift Zam to figure out where the quest NPCs and items are, especially the level 30 quests and above, since they don't give you map indicators.

You mean like finding the evidence on the cliffs? *grumble grumble*

--Edit--

As of mid-day today, I'm literally one kill away from dinging 50 (280xp). So later on tonight I will do my turning-50 upgrades ritual and then apply myself fully to finishing off this quest line (as best as I can).

I'm putting it aside until someone mentions while I'm in game in guild chat that they'd like help with the same thing. So, I've been spending my time on gaining faction rep with dailies between Iron Pine Peak, Shimmersand and Stillmoor. Also, crafting dailies in hopes to get more plaques than the one single plaque I own at the moment. Most of my weekday play time has been between 7pm Pacific and "late".

If a bunch of folk get to the part of killing the gnar queen or just beyond, i'm for making a group and ramming it clear through doing the expert rift this Saturday when we're not raiding.

So i'm just gonna plunk it down. Get to "kill the gnar queen" in FC, or just past it. And join me early Saturday ....and we'll start smacking it down as a group with the 1st 5 who wanna do it.

Tonight would be better... I'm busy all weekend...

Friday night....

maybe...would rather run T2s on friday night....

DSM and CC are calling me home...

CC has a nice slutty chest piece for my mage and DSM has several upgrades. CC also has a nice T2 staff to use witchstones on....which i can't use on my knife & book.

T2s > Endless quest on Friday Nights.

New show: Friday Night Dungeons, bring your own slutty outfits and beer. Prepare for much Pain & Pleasure as you get your ass handed to you and win new epic toys.

I'm going to try and get groups together for this 5-man raid rift. The major parts at lvl 50 look like 5-man raid rift --> 20-man raid rift --> GSB (with mostly soloable quests inbetween). We should start keeping track of who is at what stage and setting dates & times to get stages completed. Some of the best gear in the game comes out of this quest (I know the 2H staff is the best 2H staff in the game).

I did the 5-man rift last night with a pub group - it was cake (We had 15 people, and all got the drop off the mob who had the quest). Pro tip: there's 3 areas in the rift that spawn in different phases. RDPS should stay in the first area, +50% to dmg.

Here's an easier to read guide on the Saga of the Endless.

I think we should start tracking who's where on the quest line so we can get as many people on the appropriate step as possible. It's better if we have 10 people all spend a few hours getting to the GSB part then having to do each step 10 different times.

I'm on the Courtship part, which is where you have to search for three clues. All these quests require atleast 2 people (tank/healer), but if we got 5 people together, or more, we could burn through them together, and quickly. Hell, if we got most of the 50s in the guild up to the lvl 50 part, we could probably run it all through to the GSB part in an evening. The hardest part would be having the corrupted souls for the rift.
