So how does a neck-crank work?? I couldn't get a good impression from the fight saturday night because of the way the cameras/bodies were positioned.

It looked like, if you image the body as a T and the head is the line on the top, that you are trying to take the horizontal bar and make it vertical.

Looks painful, wish I could find the video cause the gif doesn't do it justice.

Bas's neck crank

Thanks!!

I've heard this is a really good way to open up someone's closed guard, too.

Yea, though that is more commonly known as a "can opener".

Okay, time to resurrect this post. Who wins Penn v. Fitch, people?! Does Fitch lay on Penn for 15 minutes or will Penn win by submission via pretzeling of Fitch's limbs? Answers! I demand them!

Just saw this quote from Fedor's Coach on why he lost:

Fedor's Coach wrote:

It seems to us that not everything was right, and that certain technologies were used. Not ones that could be seen by the naked eye but psychological technologies that worked on both fighters at a distance. That is why during the fight Fedor was just not like himself. It seemed very strange behavior from Fedor. He stepped into the ring and did everything exactly the opposite of what we practiced before the fight.

Fitch will win. I think th MMA world has passed by Penn.

Fitch should have no problems handling Penn. He's *way* bigger then Penn, has better cardio, better reach, crazy wrestling and is tough and nails.

Penn is going to crumble when he throws his early round 1 blitzkreig and Fitch is still standing right there coming forward.

Everyone on the interwebz seems to be piling on the Jon "Decision Master" Fitch bandwagon but I'm going Penn via TKO Round 2.

@Texas Ray - Fedor's management is single-handly responsible for the downfall of this career. It's a damn shame that he let himself be guided by those bafoons.

So how about Brian Ebersole? Such an unorthodox style, but it got the job done. According to Wikipedia, he frequently reads Reddit too.

UFC on Versus 3 tonight, don't forget! Sanchez v. Kampmann. Should be a good fight.

GREAT fights last night. If you like MMA and have VS, you should try to catch a replay. Every fight was entertaining.

So, who do you think actually won that fight?

I have to offer up the disclaimer that I don't like Sanchez, so that could cloud my sensibilities, but I thought it was 29-28 Kampmann.. He clearly did the most damage. I had him winning the 3rd despite the takedown by Sanchez, as he wasn't able to do anything with it and most of Sanchez's flurries seemed to not land or do much damage.

Pretty cool move on Dana White's part to not only give them Fight of the Night bonus, but also another $100k (each, I think) for a total of $160k each in bonuses...Hopefully that will cover thier medical expenses!

It is a shame that such a good card wound up on Versus...was tons bettter than the most recent PPV.

I thought Diego won 2 and 3. He made the more meaningful shots in both. Kampmann definitely had one, though.

So Henderson is the new SF light heavyweight champ, and the rumor is Fedor might drop to 205 to fight him.

I think that would seriously be an awesome fight. Fedor should have dropped years ago. I'm excited to see if this will actually turn out!

Zuffa is going to buy Strikeforce......

Wtf? Well that could be awesome if they merge eventually, some really cool matches with strikeforce champs vs ufc champs to unify belts.

Alright, who's winning this championship bout Saturday?

I've got Jones by judo throw out of the cage or by severe pretzeling of his opponent.

In all reality, I don't want to count Shogun out but Jones is just so dominant. Hopefully Shogun can make it interesting with his striking, I don't know.

Jones is something else, but that Shogun dude is just scary.

Shogun is being waaaay undervalued here. He is a *monster* and eats lanky dudes like Jones alive. Jones is certainly a live opponent and has plenty of chances to win but it's going to be one crazy ass fight.

I agree. On strength of opponents alone, I think Rua has the advantage. Jones probably has the edge, but I think folks who say it is going to be a walk are missing some important details.

Well, I don't think anyone expected that!

I have to wonder if Shogun was injured or ill, but he was completely and totally outclassed.

2 seconds into the fight he ate a flying knee flush to the face.

IMAGE(http://i51.tinypic.com/2qx0uhi.gif)

It wasn't long after that he ate a full on shin to the head as well. I don't think he ever got the chance to recover from those shots.

Oh wow...I didn't realize that he connected that solidly with the flying knee...I don't think they even showed a replay of it between rounds.

Apparently Jon Jones is the freaking man. Stopping a robber and winning the LHW belt in the same day? Just absolutely ridiculous.

Don't forget that there's a fight night tomorrow night on Spike starting at 10ET.

There will be a five fight prelim show on Facebook which is just insane. Worth watching just to see Bruce Leroy get wrecked by Mackens.

Wow. The Korean Zombie beats Leonard Garcia with an ugly, nasty, painful twister. I guess he didn't want to get robbed by the judges again.

Yea it was nice to see Garcia get beat down like that. He's gotten so many free gift decisions that it's getting kind of sickening.
