How do you remove the people talking?

Wait. You turned into a bigger jerk or I did?

That's a great question. I look in the mirror and can't even recognize myself anymore...

How about those tf2 maps, eh? I like the ones with the doors.

That one sucks.

So do you.

For the sake of my fellow B.A.B.I.E.S. I will hold my words. When this tournament is over, you will pay!

Could it be sir that you are spending too much time on playing with demos and not enough working on your map?

That is very true. However, I made a couple of pretty unbelievable shots with the huntsman last night that I need to get recorded.

On another note, I might have as much as a month off here soon. That map will finally get some attention.

I use demoui and it works fine if i enter a # in the future, but crashes if I try to enter a # in the past...

Just like real time travel.

voice_enable 0 in the console. Don't forget to turn it back on!

But time is cyclical so you just need to put in a high enough number so that it wraps back around. Right?

Evilseed and I tried do some some mid-air caber jousting on Lakeside after the tournament. We equipped some stickyjumpers and cabers and tried to meet in the middle of the map and kill each other. We were not successful, and our experiments had to end once the pubbies started coming on. But we did get close. Further research is needed.

Also, does anyone know how to turn off the UI stuff (the grey bars) when you are in demo mode?

Are there any rules for newbs joining? I'm looking to try and play tomorrow night.

I'm also a noted opponent of "no-cap," especially on koth maps which work fine for low numbers of people (concentrates the action, gives purpose).

Yea, I don't really get the "no-cap" rule, particularly once things are 6v6 or 7v7. The server doesn't explode if the round ends with less than 24 people. Playing two KOTH maps in a row while we wait for folks to join is also OK. Also:

There are certain maps which make it much easier than others to camp someone's spawn (Dustbowl Part 2, final point). This will happen, quite a bit. But as long as the rest of your team is working towards the objective I won't complain too much. I know I have gotten bent out of shape when I perceived a few players to be attacking spawn instead of working towards the map's objectives.

Yea, some maps are lousy for this. Folks need to recognize that if the opposing cart is rolling by the door you're using (as sometimes occurs on plr_nightfall and plr_pipeline), someone is probably pointing a gun at the door. It's not reasonable to expect to walk outside, get your bearings, and get a couple no-scopes off before getting blown to bits. Use the other door.

Nucleus is the worst offender in the official set, since it sticks the spawn door most people use directly in front of the point. Coupled with the tendency for Sniper Convention 2011 to start up right in front of said door, yea, you might see an opposing team member shooting in your direction when you leave. I assume that's why there are so many exits.

I almost never leave by the "easily accessible" door, *especially* on Nucleus. Of course, this has more to do with my attempts to flank people than anything else. After all, it's much easier to shoot mannes if they aren't shooting back at you right away.

Erik, that absolutely needs more research and video documentation.

The public server is open to anybody that isn't a jerk. It usually has a game going every night of the week... except when we play on the private Friday and Monday nights.

The example I was thinking of when I wrote this is Dustbowl, part 2 point 2. Very easy and useful to have a heavy medic stand next to the point and keep reinforcements from reaching the point. Now, if the rest of your team is capping the point, then it lasts a few seconds, and is beneficial to the team. If you are just camping there while no one caps, you are spawn camping.

That is kind of what I meant by 'working towards the objective.'

Would have been epic if you could have done it. Ah... TF2 science = AWESOME

Usually people come play on the pub server for a few nights before they get into the private server. No one here is real Draconian with the password, but we do want to protect the community that we have built here. We all pretty much use mic's and communicate and play as a team, not that new people are welcome, we just don't want to taint the server with jerks

Come kick us around on the public server a little tonight. We should have a game going tonight.

Edit: Removed large images, once is enough

roflcopter, that's a good one jadefire. Thinking we can keep out jerks =P

I'm going to have to start playing again, after this weekend's 360 TF2 boosting session.

Did you guys know this game didn't always have hattes?

Sure, sure, there's a few maps where that happens. I've never heard anyone complain about that particular example since the map usually ends a couple seconds later. I have seen people complain on the PLR maps as the cart rolls near the spawn. The map isn't over, but the action is definitely right in front of one of the spawn doors.

HAHAHAHA!!! I would go back and edit that, but I think it's a little classic.

Well I already added both of the servers to my Favorites. What time does this thing usually get going?

Usually around 8:30-9Pm EST

Also, evil and I would like to give caber jousting another go some night when we are filling up the server. We decided it would be even awesomer if we could get a bunch of demomen on each side to go all together. Imagine, 24 demomen flying through the air, exploding.

I still need the sicky-jump melee kill achievement. This sounds perfect for that.

Ahhh. But, I'm not supposed to play video games anymore. Damn you.

I'll need a caber, and I promise I'll smack you right in the face with it mid-flight.

We're always happy to have new people join us! It can be a bit intimidating at first, but when in doubt, just follow the score leader on your team for a while and do what he/she does.
