Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

I must ask: do you find many people aside from family and friends that dislike them? I know that when I wear mine, I get one of two reactions, "whoa those are cool" or "those are the strangest or most hideous things ever." They're... a point of conversation for sure.

It's early days, but that does seem to cover all the reactions so far.

Millenia of civilization has cultivated some kind of fear of toes, maybe?

Crossbow is here.

Currently the thought of them is terrifying family & friends.

Those are great shoes. I tore a sizable hole through my first pair's use after over 200 miles of use, and my second pair is approaching that point. Maybe it's better that it hasn't been warm enough to wear them...

I can't stand the sight of the human foot. So seeing a completely anatomically-foot-shaped shoe damn near pisses me off. Not that I get angry and yell at those that wear them, but I get angry at myself for having seen them. God, I hate the human foot. I'd lop mine off if I could function without them.

For me, they look like a grotesque mutant hand. The human body is an elegant machine, the foot being the least elegant part of the whole deal.

EDIT: To remove the garrish sight of foot-shaped shoes.

My awesome watch.

Fivefinger shoes

I can't stand things between my toes, I'm sure one would adjust, but the thought makes me shudder.

The toe-spacer feeling is weird, but they are super comfortable despite that.

Do you do any kind of recreational running in those? These days I hear a lot about the "barefoot running movement," but even the thought of running barefoot just makes my feet hurt. I generally want a shoe to put me as far away from that feeling as possible, not bring me closer.

I'm not a runner, but I do a fair amount of walking. There's definitely going to be some adjustment time, as I can feel different muscles being exercised as I walk. It sounds like the process is the same for running - you need ease into it gradually.

That is the most awesome watch I've ever seen. Do Want.

I've actually done the barefoot running thing and really enjoy it. I haven't picked up a pair of 5 fingers though, but I really do want to here in the near future.

Bad ass.

Remember I said I was getting back into racing games and I wanted a wheel? Well I did this instead:

Here's a closer look at that controller:
IMAGE(http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/377/img0057dq.jpg)

While it's no racing wheel, it is a ton of fun to play with, and the bonus is it doesn't take up nearly as much space as a wheel would.

Saw that controller in the store and I have no idea how it works.

I think the bonus is all the stickers!

Gotta get those sponsorships

Totally straight forward. The wheel replaces the left thumbstick and only controls the horizontal. The gas and brake pedals are just analog representations of the X and ☐ buttons. It is way better than using a standard Dual Shock for Gran Turismo, Burnout Paradise, and Need for Speed. You know how Burnout and NFS use the triggers for gas and brake instead of X and ☐? Well there's a swtich on the back of the controller that swaps them so that you can use the controller with either set. In addition, if you get a weird game that uses other buttons, you can use the "Macro" button to reassign a single button or combination of buttons to any other button. I'm telling you this is the most fun and accurate controller I've used with racing games in a long time.

And because of all those sponsorships, Gamestop had the controller at $20 off! Add in the used GT5 and I was out the door for about $80!

Picked it up at Big Lots for $3, includes the art book.

Here is what I got myself for my birthday:

Heh, I've worn mine on the subway a few times; that terrifies me :)

Haven't worn mine anywhere but the neighborhood. Should wear them to work(when they're not stinky)

Went to the music store over the weekend with a buddy who was looking at stuff to expand his drum kit. I bought this:

Got my guitar tuned to drop C, been gargling bleach and gravel all day (not really...) Time to shred some f'ing death metal.

In this context they're actually called stickarz. Get it right next time.

My February purchase:

How do you like the Evo Shift, RedJen? I'm deciding between that and the Epic...

Got myself a new moniter from newegg this week.

This one

If you ask my wife the purchase was very silly.

A big case of em. They are impossible to find in stores these days.

I do love bawls but I haven't seen any in a while. I hope your bawls are tasty!

Haven't tasted Bawls since we stopped running our LAN party.

That stuff is the sh*t - whenever the Skillet trailer is in the neighborhood I work in, I go and get lunch there.

Numbers 1-40. I wanted to get the first few paperbacks that go from 1-24, but everyone is out of them. It seems like nationwide they all of a sudden just stopped having them.

So far so good. Going from a BlackBerry, I'm getting used to having the entire face being touch sensitive, but that's about the worst part for me. The keyboard is easier to use with it's horizontal layout instead of trying to squeeze into half of the face.

I had a lovely surprise that all my contacts transferred without me having to do anything because I'd sync'd my BlackBerry calendar with my Google calendar. I didn't know it took a snapshot of my contacts, but I'm glad now.
