All Cities In Motion (1&2) Catch-all

Pages

I just learned about Cities In Motion through a hands on look from Rock Paper Shotgun.

Transportation has always been one of the most interesting parts about SimCity for me and I've enjoyed other transportation games out there so this grabbed me.

No trains? What kind of rotten transport simulator doesn't have trains? Argh.

I think that's because it's intra-city, not inter-city. Anyone know? Within a city, trams and subways are the train-based transport.

Well, many cities use light rail to move people between the suburbs and downtown. Maybe they're lumping that in with "subways"?

I was more surprised by the lack of a screenshot filled entirely with numbers. Are we sure this is a Paradox game? :p

MONORAAAAAIL!

Color me interested. The transportation aspect is always fun to me for some reason in SimCity and Tycoon games.

Tagged.. I often end up spending more time than I'd expect in games like this.

I'm intrigued enough to grab it on sale, at least.

Subway rollercoasters... Mwhahahaha!

Put it in the game and I am in.

I'm guessing the lack of trains is because it's not a freight transport simulator and that the light rail aspect is covered by "trams".

The RPS impressions perhaps showed me that the game would end up being a bit too hard core for my tastes, even though I do love city building games.

Tagging nonetheless.

ROLLERCOASTERS!!! Please?

Hey, look, triple post.

Open Beta download ... or as [i]I'd like to think of it, a demo.

I'll be checking this out when I get home today.

I had some crash problems. I had crashing after the paradox logo but was able to get to the main menu by running in win xp mode sp3. After loading the tutorial the game would crash. I went into settings and reduced the resolution and changed back to win7 mode. I was able to load the game up but kept crashing. Finally disabled shadows and things finally worked enough to get into the game.

I don't have any game thoughts yet, I haven't put much time in, but I wanted to share the crash info. I was trying to post the crash dumps to the paradox site but now the paradox site won't load... ugh.

Me too - I'm still playing Transport Tycoon via the wonders of OpenTT.

So.. I am playing the tutorial.. created a bus line. Now they want me to build a tram line. But all I want to do is make the bus crash. What is wrong with me!?

MONORAAAAAIL!

Called Charlie!

Blaine is a pain.

Okay, interview with the CEO and producer of the game. Here's the thing. The CEO/Producer and the lead designer are ... both women. Don't see that often.

The more I see of this game, the more I really want to play it. I really like how they're taking the city building genre and focusing on one aspect of it in crazy detail. Really looking forward to trying this.

Welp, that does it. Preordering tonight. $19.99 is hard to turn down for what looks like a really well polished game.

It's $20?! SO done!

That was my reaction. My interest just shot up.

Enabled.

Dammit.

Tried the demo, that will definitely scratch my TT itch. The only thing I found awkward was building an underground metro line and trying to make sure all the components were on the same plane.

£15 of Her Majesty's Pounds for us - bargain.
