Felicia Day reveals new project

Link.

Felicia Day has revealed that her new webseries project will be set in a familiar place for a lot of us: Ferelden. She will play an assassin named Tallis who is out to capture a renegade sorcerer. I certainly look forward to seeing it, though I admit to a little jealousy at her getting to play Dragon Age 2 before anyone else!

Oooh. Is it a dress?

Cool Looking forward to it. I guess I should play the game as well now

Aww.. she's gonna be an adorable assassin

Damn. I was hoping it would be Tales of an Azeroth Mailbox Dancer.

In that case, you will be even more saddened to know that her armour falls into the 'mostly functional' category, rather than being a chainmail bikini. It still doesn't cover half enough to be actual armour, but as fantasy armour goes, it's quite modest.

Sounds like she's playing a rogue, and rogues do it from behind. I'm in.

More pictures!!!

That's what I've been thinking since last night. This needs more pictures stat!

I invited her to stop by the thread on twitter (she's already responded to a couple of my tweets), so please be on your best behavior

That one has to be immortalised, just in case.

I think we need pics of half naked men for the summoning to work though.

I'm interested in seeing where they're going for this. Is it going to be like the guild with the fun 4th wall ignoring, or is it going to be a semi serious fantasy project?

That said, I dunno that I am down for pure marketing material ever... (I already preordered it anyway -_-)

It made USA Today...

I saw this in my reader this morning. I was very excited to see another project for Felicia, even more so with it being a Bioware related project on top of that.

The bad news is that reading that article made me realize Dragon Age II is out in less than a month, and I haven't finished the first one yet. To the Pile!

Per her twitter:

Felicia Day
It is more dramatic, JUST like the game! RT: @Liddokun Is the webisodes gonna have a serious story or comedic like The Guild ? #dragonage

More quality web series is always a good thing. Also, more fantasy-setting comedy is always a good thing. The number one thing missing from most fantasy stories is a sense of humor about itself. Fantasy writers tend to forget they're not Tolkien and can't get away with being that pompous

*edit* Okay so it's a serious story, whoops. Still, hopefully it has a sense of humor about itself.

I'm imagining Xena Warrior Princess in Ferelden.

It will only be true to the source material if there is at least one shot of dialogue where people are completely covered in blood and nobody mentions it.

I heard someone started a thread here, want to thank you for spreading the word about the series, and thank you for your support, it really means a lot. I hope I do you proud adapting the universe of DA to screen, I "researched" for months hehe. BTW, DA2 is super fun, you'll love it.

Tomorrow an interview with Jimmy Fallon (I guess known in the USA?) and a teaser trailer to boot

[quick update]

Awesome of you to drop by!

Saw this on her Facebook page today. Damn, I still need to play DA:O.

Totally. I've been replaying DA lately, and as my wife walked by the computer Saturday this is the first thing she noticed. She kind of cocked her head funny, and kept right on going.

Very cool, I'm looking forward to the new series! Hard to believe it was only three years ago we had that upstart on the podcast. Or were we the upstarts?

I knew it! My jealousy was entirely appropriate! In all seriousness, I really enjoy The Guild (not to mention your other work) and I'm very much looking forward to this. I loved the first Dragon Age, I think Bioware are masters at creating worlds to inhabit - see also the Mass Effect universe. The fact that you're now taking that world and creating something new in it has me very excited! Now if I found out you did something in the ME universe I would have to find out what pills I had been taking recently, because that would be entirely too good to be true.

Teaser trailer will be released tomorrow night. That's what I'm talking about. Images for a show is what I want.

I make no such guarantee, but I do look forward to the new series.

You know, I'd shamefully forgotten about that interview until you mentioned it.

I won't!

Love The Guild, Felicia is awesome so I'm looking forward to this too.

As long as we keep Legion out of the thread we should be fine.

Re-watching The Guild season 4 as we speak. Man I forgot how funny Wil Wheaton was.
