The Witcher 2 Catch-All

Trailer

How expensive is premium/collectioner ed. pre-order in US and UK? Because I've just discovered that in Poland premium edition is really, really cheap, costing around 30 bucks (while other AAA titles are 40, sometimes even fifty).
Collectioner's still 70, though

My Pre-order of the digital premium edition on GoG was 45 USD, that is the same cost to pre-order on Steam.

Now is that 30 Euros or 30 Zloty?

Oh, right. When I say bucks, I mean USD. (1 Złoty/PLN = 3 USD = 4 Euros)
In Poland retail (physical) premium edition is 99 PLN = 33 USD while all other AAA games cost between 120 and 150 (40-50 USD). This is sensational. They really aren't giving anyone excuses to pirate this game, hope it works well for them.

(Oh, and almost nobody in here buys digitally because we always get those one-size-fits-all European prices on Steam, meaning you'd have to pay 50 Euros for something you can have for 30 when you buy physical copy.)

FTFY. Boy, if 3 USD = 4 Euros (= 1,115 HUF instead of 600), my financial worries would be mostly solved

Didn't you get the wolf head witcher pendant in TW1 special edition in Eastern Europe, or was it Russia? That's the sort of thing that says 'special' to me, a little trinket unique to a game. Bonus if it's made out of materials that are going to last.

Ugh, I'm stupid.

Yeah, we did. I think I lost it somewhere

Ha, there's no way my two year old CPU will be able to output the kind of quality even though I have a 460. At least the game looks great.

Minimum System requirements: Windows XP/Vista/7, processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or similar AMD 1 GB RAM for Windows XP, 2 GB RAM for Windows Vista and 7, Nvidia GF 8800 512 VR or similar ATI

The graphics card is far more important, the 460 should do fine, whatever the CPU.

I've no doubt the game will look fine on my machine. I'm talking about the max settings on display in the video.

At this point, who can tell. The fact that they're keeping the consoles in mind for down the line makes me think it can't be that bad. Even playing TW1 with it's 'primitive' 2007 graphics there's a lot to draw you in, more style over poly-pushing, and they say they've made drastic improvements in things like character animations, etc. It's kind of missing the point, but I think TW2 will have bigger problems if it's down to the graphics to pull you into the world. Everything they've shown looks gorgeous though.

I'm making an effort to finally finish The Witcher 1. I just reached a funny part.

Old Woman: "Whaaaaat? You're Drunk.
Geralt: Noottt Truuuueeee.

So funny

Granny is great.

I repeated that dialogue option so many times.

Gnaaa, really want to pre-order this from Impulse, but I don't know if I can finish Witcher 1 by May. About how long is Witcher 1 Enhanced Edition? Are we talking DA:O length, or DA:O + Awakening?

Oh hells... if it's even close to DA:O, I'm screwed. I put over 100 hours into DAO + Awakening, and I'm only 12 hours in to The Witcher.

I don't know exact time, but it felt similar in length to Mass Effect. The pacing in Acts 2 & 3 is off and there is a ton of backtracking during those chapters, but after act 3 the pace picks up.

I think my first playthrough of TW1 took around 40 hours. You've got 3 months (*sigh*) until TW2, which should be plenty of time if you keep at it regularly.

According to Steam, it took me 57.4 hours to finish my first playthrough. At least 5 hours of that was running around the swamp for no real reason (picking flowers, fighting drowners).

It's more funny like that.

Probably more true too, I was far more interested in the flowers than the drowners.

Huh? I don't remember that one, where in the game is it?

Locations diary looked awesome. I've only seen minute or two because I've promised myself to stay away from trailers/videos as much as possible but still... wow.

If 5-6 years ago someone told me that the most ambitious and most anticipated AAA RPG title would be coming from Polish developers... boy would I laugh that person off

She's Shani's landlady, in the temple district.

Oh, riight.

Yeah, old cow got me drunk then kicked me out.

Screens: http://next.videogame.it/the-witcher...

Looks like a night and day difference to TW1.
Swords in scabbards, LarryC will be pleased.
