People who can snipe like that make me sad that I have such poor fine motor skills in comparison. It's amazing to watch him waver in a tiny circle around someone's head before lining up the shot at the perfect moment.

I'm practicing with the sniper class at the moment and a friend recommended that I lower my mouse sensitivity as you tend make less erratic movements.

I have had a lot of people mention them doing this to try and get better at it but it drove me mad the one time I tried it! I even have a fancy mouse that I can customize a button on it to switch between set sensitivities and it was still maddening. I'll never understand what dropping the sensitivity is supposed to do, how can your reaction times be better when you are aiming slower! Maybe I'm just weird.

Welcome to the club.

Private server! Tonight! We play custom maps and kill mannes!

DON'T BE SCARED, TINY BABY!

Cryptic Code, I enjoyed having you as my medic. Another medic tip is to be an extra set of eyes and ears for your medic buddies. You're able to move in a wider area and still keep your target healed, and that lets you see things that your buddies can't because they need to look at what they're shooting.

I ain't scared. You're scared!

Sorry for having to bail quickly and get kicked. The wife is having a reeeeally tough time with her second pregnancy, much more so than the first; it's basically like having two children in the house.

Fixed for wife approval.

Very nicely done.

I should say, I didn't mean for that to sound like a complaint; more like stating a fact. Everyone in this house (including the two-year-old) cannot wait for second trimester.

Lowering the sensitivity of the mouse increases the physical target are on your mousepad. Say on the highest sensitivity moving your mouse an inch moves the reticule across your entire screen. A head is a tiny fraction of the screen. So it takes a very small, precise mouse movement to align your reticule. The target area on your mousepad is teeny.

Now decrease your sensitivity significantly. It takes 10 inches to move your reticule across the entire screen. Now the physical target are on your mousepad has increased significantly.

Imagine your mousepad has a screen on it and where you move your mouse on that screen is where your reticule goes. The higher your sensitivity is the smaller that screen is. If you are only moving your mouse a few inches that screen is tiny and anything you are aiming for is even tinier. If you are moving your mouse 6-10 inches, that screen is much bigger and so is anything you are aiming for.

So higher sensitivity equals faster movement, which is good for twitchier classes like Scout or Heavy. Lower sensitivity means smoother aiming but slower movement.

A few months ago I lowered my sensitivity significantly. It took some adjustment, but it has been very beneficial.

On the other hand (and no one ever suggests this because no one plays medic for 500 hours), a higher sensitivity is real good for a medic so he can constantly be watching his back with just a flick, and you don't need super accuracy for the medigun =)

Oh crap....

That. Is. Awesome. If that gets into main TF2, that's pretty much the only way I'm going to let go of my shotgun.

The only thing that makes me switch away from the flare gun is if there is a pyro on the other team that actually uses the shotgun (and those are few and far between). There's something very satisfying for me about weapons like the flare gun and huntsman where you have to lead the targets to hit them. And, I love hitting a burning enemy while they are running for a health pack.

I don't know if I would actually use the detonator or not. I have to play with it to see how effective the 'explosion' really is. The increased explosive vulnerability makes it really unappealing for me even if you can flare jump with it. I just wish they would allow pyros to poof jump.

My beta account still has a Max head. Too bad we can't trade with our beta accounts.

True, different classes benefit from different sensitivity levels. If you want to get fancy, you can adjust sensitivity levels per class with a custom config file.

So I messed around with the detonator a bit, and I can definitely see it's uses. I'd probably still miss the shotgun mind you, but flare jumps are just so awesome.

Good info! Totally missed out on that It's going to be fun playing around with that detonator now!

What?! Easy buttons need fricking MORE utility?! Why not have the poofer spit out sentry guns and have them fart sticky bombs too?

I don't get it...

Because I never get killed

This was a pretty fun koth map I just played on another server. I don't think it would work well as a pre-round map like the other koth maps usually are but I think it would be good for actual play.

Could have fooled me.

Have you guys ever tried this map? I've been trying to find some new cp maps since I don't really like most of the stock ones and we really don't have many custom ones. This looks pretty interesting. Here is a video:

I did this exact thing this past Friday.
