Goodjer Podcasters Unite!

I'd love to listen to something like that.

Speaking of which, need to resub to TWIL...

Updated OP with improved info about HatchetJob (sorry 1Dgaf, that slipped through the cracks).

Thanks guy.

Thanks for filling out my list! More stuff to listen to! Keep it up GoodjerNation.

I have two active podcasts going...

Nation of Gamers - our general gaming podcast
and
The Shaft - our Minecraft podcast.

The Shaft is really bringing response like some of our old Control Point material did. It's such a positive experience to get feedback on what you're doing.

OP has been updated

Thanks for sharing those, Wes. As an avid listener of Control Point (RIP), I look forward to listening to these this week.

The Shaft is ending up being our spiritual successor to the Control Point silliness... so if you're looking for that, head there first.

Hey everybody! I Hope You Die Radio has a new episode! "Episode 4: 1 Bullet for Yes, 2 for No" is now available on iTunes! I'm really proud of this episode, and I think it's actually pretty hilarious this round. Anyone get a chance to check out any of the episodes yet?

Description: This week, the gang forgets to play the game because they're lazy assholes, and instead talk about competition in gaming. Chris Park joins us in his first podcast appearance, and makes us all look stupid (Not that that's hard) with his articulate speech and big words. We struggle to stay on topic, and end up talking about Klaus, repeating messages on exploding telephones, the relationship dangers of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, airport racism, the continuing saga of Alan's doomed laptop, and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. As always it's a short window to a world of hilarity and fun! Enjoy!

Is the audio quality any better? I can barely hear you guys.

It's still kind of quiet, but I try to keep everyone close to the same level so that if you turn it up no one is 8x louder than everyone else. We're getting a second mic soon, which should fix a bunch. It's getting funnier though! I get all of my stand up from this show now, the stuff we come up with while recording is a treasure trove of material for me.

Just picked up a second mic. I'm hoping this will resolve audio level problems for future episodes (After 5). At least now, I can put the two quiet people on one mic, and the two loud people on the other. Should be able to balance out audio a bit better that way.

I do a podcast, available on iTunes, with a few friends called The Principled Uncertainty Podcast. We try to be varied in our topics, with media being the glue that keeps things together. I will warn that it's a bit heady. I've not gotten feedback on it, really, so feel free to listen (if so inclined) and post feedback/suggestions.

I didn't post a link last time-- link included this time so that it can be included in the list:

Cool, demonbox. I'll update the list when I get to something that has a keyboard that does not make me want to punch something in the face. And I'll give it a listen this weekend (at a swim meet - lots of time to catch up on podcasts )

This thread is going to make me loathe the fact that I'm likely still lacking posts enough for the board code to work for me.

Not afraid to post ugly-looking links that probably need to be copy-pasted into a browser window, however, it makes sense for my to pimp my role in planning, hosting, and producing the PixelCast for the totally unheard of 'round these parts Pixel Hunt e-zine.

It's also up on iTunes.

It's yet another gaming podcast but, If nothing else, our accents will probably entertain you. The schedule is fortnightly, and this is generally adhered to pretty closely, but working with people in Australia can make this difficult. Problems are often associated in the second half of the month where people's internet download caps start kicking in, and half of the population gets shaped down to 56k. If the 1998 Conference Call suggested difficulty in downloading an hour-long podcast on a dial-up speed connection, then you should imagine what it's like when you're trying to upload one.

A few recommended episodes:

(Audio's a bit iffy here, but Dan was still a good guest)

Quoted so the tags work.

The OP has been updated to add Principled Uncertainty and PixelCast. I'll try and give those a listen soon.

Today's Woot item sells itself as being for podcasters. Just passing along: http://www.woot.com/

My friend Josh and I run the Library Police podcast, where we discuss books and other entertainment topics. We just recorded our tenth episode, and I'm having a blast with it so far. Early on, we made the brilliant move/mistake of joking that people emailing in should start with an insult, and some have taken it amazingly far. One person in particular has twice sent in emails that reduced us to unrecordable hysterics, the second one of which made reference to a drunk uncle with a harelip and a dark secret about his bunkmate in Korea.

Like I said, it's been a hell of a lot of fun.

Mighty friendly (and pretty creative) use of the quote tags there, mudbunny.

Cheers

I guess we (or more accurately, I) should pimp our show as we've just completed our top ten games of all time.... plus some more that didn't quite make it onto the list.

Next up - in the next couple of days before Christmas, the Grinch is visiting and we're doing our top 5 worst games of all time.

Updated OP to add the Library Police Podcast. I'll add that to the podcast list as well

Yay! It took forever, but I finally got Episode 5 edited and released! The audio is definitely better this time, I've taken some steps to improve it. Please give it a listen and let me know what you think! I don't think I've laughed so hard at one of our own episodes before. Alan's laptop story is truly laugh out loud funny in my opinion. I literally cut over 30 minutes of material from this episode, if something doesn't seem super interesting or funny I'm just getting rid of it now. Let the good stuff shine. I think this episode is better for it. Please subscribe and leave a review and a rating on iTunes! Also feedback is appreciated, it all gets read on the show! Even if you just reply here.

Episode 5: DRM Flavored Spicy Sauce

Description: The long awaited episode 5 of I Hope You Die Radio is finally here! This week the gang talks about bringing back the spirit of the LAN party, and every single line of it gets cut in post. Instead, we just do what we do best, talk about random stuff we think is awesome. Alan chimes in with the third part of his epic Lenovo Laptop Trilogy, the gang ponders sponsorships, suggests suggestive League of Legend alternative character skins, and then fights over a koosh ball. This might be our funniest episode yet. If you don't at least listen to Alan's laptop story, then you're doing yourself a disservice. Sorry it took so long, but I promise it was worth it. See for yourself!

Episode 5 was from over a month ago, it took me forever to edit it. However.....

I Hope You Die Radio Episode 6: Chitty Chitty Blang Blang is now out! I feel as though the audio is getting better, is anyone still listening?

http://ihud.libsyn.com/episode-6-chi...

Description: In our first episode with a live audience, Chris, Alan, and Kevin are joined by the amazing and wonderful Thomas "Heavy T" Campbell. The gang decides to be super mean and instead of coming up with their own New year's Resolutions, they come up with each others! Chris starts beef with 4 Loko, Alan delves into the pig flingers of his Christmas past, Kevin proves he is one of the worst human beings on the planet, and Tom gets kicked in the nuts. Get your dose of I Hope You Die Radio today!

So I'm a member of small mailing-list devoted to technology talk and a few of have been recording a podcast off & on (more off than on, since a whole year went by without a new episode!).

We recently recorded a new episode and the format was inspired heavily by the "random thing you love/loathe" threads here on the forums. Latest episode can be found here: http://is.gd/kxbmD (Warning: show features Indian accents.. exclusively.)

As the "producer" on the show, I have to confess that a new editing workflow took up way more time than I anticipated, so the show is not properly levelled. Apologies for that and I hope that the next episode is better (assuming we don't actually take another year to record one..)

Hey guys, new episode out!

http://ihud.libsyn.com/episode-7-the...

I Hope You Die Radio Episode 7: The Bad Yeast Day

Description: This week, Chris and Alan attempt to do a show by themselves, and argue over the finer points of the PC indie title, Magicka. Alan comes up with his own storybook idea, and Chris decides to come up with a new close out phrase for the show (Listen after the song for that). Let us know what you think about the format change!

By the way, the last 3 episodes have had significantly better audio quality, so if that was a problem for you, I urge you to give it another shot now that it's fixed.

We just did a stacking episode if anyone's interested.

I'll listen to yours if you listen to mine. Then we can argue.

On a (slightly) more serious note, however, has anybody else had troubles with iTunes? The episode I listed above is #32, but the iFeed is stuck at #30. It's only two episodes behind because our web guy has been on holiday, and has thereby not been pinging iTunes as the new episodes have gone live.

but surely it should happen a bit more... automatically than that?

It's probably the RSS feed. Use an RSS reader or enter the RSS feed directly into iTunes and see if it updates properly. If it doesn't then you know where the problem is.

Also the show is great, it definitely benefits from having multiple people. My friends are lame and I can rarely get them on an episode that involves us playing a game. So lately it ends up being only Alan and I for gaming focused episodes, which sucks because the other guys are really funny, but unreliable. Also as you mentioned, accents definitely make me more interested haha. The audio quality is incredibly solid and well edited, what's your setup? (Mics, editing software etc) Also there probably won't be much to argue about, I'm the one that likes everything, and you guys all seemed to like Stacking. Alan's the one that always seems to find things to complain about, cynical bastard.

Cheers. I'm curious that you found the audio to be of a high standard, though, as I did listen to the last IHYD and found it to be pretty clean. The PixelCast setup varies depending on the panel, as well as the stability of our respective internet connections. Australia is pretty infamous for its internet speeds and restrictions, and this has had a palpable negative effect on the odd episode. In terms of tech and such, I'm just rolling with a Phillips headset that I picked up at Lotte Mart while still resident in South Korea (where internet woes were a freak abnormality), and the other panel members are just using whichever headset suits them. The show is recorded over Skype through a program called Pamela that sometimes works a charm, and at other times makes me want to punch things. There are no individual tracks, either - everything's in the one big audio file in Audition, a piece of Adobe software that I only own because it was packed in with a video editing suite. Filters are run for clicks and pops and such, but nothing much beyond that.

I think just having multiple mics does wonders. That's our biggest problem right now.
