firesloth, what's your availability this weekend?

I'm pretty open almost any time before the Super Bowl tomorrow, and most of today, except for some time this afternoon.

Late this evening might work. Monday night would work, too.

I may have time during a boy's nap this afternoon or tomorrow, which is ~1 pm. I'll post if it seems like that will work out.

Let's shoot for tonight.

In other news, Kellen Moore is your 2011 Heisman Trophy winner.

I could do 1:15 if you're around...

I had the issue with depth charts not being right with someone in this league earlier. We narrowed it down to the specific time when the game crashed, and fixed it. We then had to back out and re-enter the OD, if I remember right.

Sorry, I wasn't around. I can do tonight though, and it really doesn't matter how late it is, so let's shoot for that.

No worries, as that was very late notice. Let's try tonight...

So, just got back from the baby shower. Drank an entire pitcher of beer by myself. Reliving college days at 32

Since I got back so late, we'll have to try Nat Championship at some point this week.

Woot, a human opponent!

Jayhawker, I could probably get our game in Saturday evening, you available?

Saturday evening should work great. What time are you thinking?

I'm still around and will be up late. Just let me know if you still want to play tonight.

Anyone have troubles w / human opponents in OD?

I think I am going to puke.

Well, firesloth and I tried to play the Sugar Bowl, but we kept getting disconnected. I tried the brilliant idea of leaving the dynasty, and of course I don't know the password, so now we are both locked out.

This is disappointing and frustrating.

SHag needs to invite you actually.

And sorry about the party thing firesloth, I was in a group playing some Castlevania and then shut my xbox off before hopping in.

No worries...I was just trying to see if you folks figured out the issue with player v player bowl games.

My game with a non-human opponent went off without a hitch.

I checked my approval rating before the game and the bar was empty. I had zero approval. Hopefully I was able to change that a bit by beating Texas A&M for the second straight year.

This game was never in doubt. I was in complete control aside from giving up a few garbage time scores.

Toussaint had 232 yds rushing and 3 td's, including a 69 yarder where the seas parted and Fitzy ran straight ahead untouched. Robinson threw for a modest 150 yds but also ran for 100 and a score.

A season that'll best be forgotten. I can't figure this team out. I had a few good games, beat a couple ranked teams, was embarrassed in some others, and made a few huge blunders that cost me a few wins.

Things can only go up from here I guess.

Once again Jayhawker, one heck of a game. Hopefully you didn't have to hit that bourbon bottle to badly.

As much as it hurt, these are the kind of games that have made NCAA 11 one of the best football games I have played. My wife and daughter were down in the lving room for the whole affair. When your WR dropped that first pass on your last drive, I told my them it was good weren't chatting becasue you were probably cussing up a storm. When you score, my daughter says, "Well I don't think he is cussing anymore."

Great recaps by both of you, and that is pretty priceless what you daughter said! This game (NCAA 11) is one of the best ever because (the competitiveness and the ability to be in control of the action).

Well, the Alamo Bowl is in the books. Kansas missed another great opportunity to pull off a great upset when they surrendered 21 fourth quarter points in a 31-27 loss.

Kansas outgained the Huskies 396 to 269, and held a 13:24 advantage in time of possession. Worse, they held a 24-10 lead in the 4th quarter. Then it just started going horribly wrong.

First, the Huskies scored their first TD since their first possession of the game on a pretty sweet 37 yard pass and catch to Kevin Smith. His name will come up again.

Then Rell Lewis, who had 114 yards on 23 carries coughed up the only turnover of the game giving the Huskies a short field. Demetrius Bronson made Kansas pay on an 18 yard run to tie the game at 24 a piece.

So Kansas decided the bad luck was over and an engineered a long drive to the Washington 12 yard line, forcing the Huskies to take their 3rd time out by kneeling on the ball with just under 30 seconds left in the game. Nate Ward then hit what everyone thought was the game winning 31 yard FG.

But after dropping an easy pass, Kieth Price proceeded to hit Kevin Smith for a gut wrenching 77 yard TD reception. I had been having a lot of luck with blitzing and wanted to force Price to throw quickly. But he found Smith behind my coverage and it was a disaster, scoring with just seven seconds left in the game.

But it was the big play that haunted Kansas all night. After driving for a FG on their opening drive, they then surrendered a 70 yard run to inside the five, which led to Washington's first lead of the game. Kansas dominated the rest of the half, going up 17-7 with just 12 seconds left in the half. But a really poor squib kick allowed Washington to get close enough to complete one pass and kick a FG to close the gap to just seven points. And they were getting the ball back first in the second half.

But the Kansas defense continued to dominate, as Washington failed to convert a a single third down all game. When Jordan Webb hit Ray Mitchell on 23 yard TD pass to go up 24-10, it looked like Kansas was going to pull off the upset. But the fourth quarter happened, and there is no joy on Mt. Oread tonight.

Wow, what a game. So many highs and lows.

Jayhawker really wore my team out and moved the ball without impunity. Their first drive of the game went for over 4 minutes and 30 seconds, culminating in a field goal to take the early lead. We received the kickoff and on the first play nearly broke a 70 something yard run for a TD, but my halfback was caught and drug down at the five, two plays later we were in the endzone to go up 7-3.

The second quarter was completely dominated by Jayhawker, two long drives that went for touchdowns. I managed a quick three in out in between those drives, and picked up three points as time expired at the half thanks to a well picked up squib kick and a 35 yard pass play to setup a 44 yard field goal attempt.

Score at the half, Kansas 17 to Washington's 10, and I felt very fortunate to be in the position I was in.

The third quarter went pretty much the same as the first two, three and outs for me and a long drive for a touchdown for Jayhawker, pushing his advantage to 24-10.

My defense finally got a stop at the beginning of the 4th quarter, and in retaliation Jayhawker nearly stuck me with one of his patented punts to the 1 yard line. Thankfully it didn't have enough hangtime for his defenders to get underneath it and it bounced into the endzone.

I took over at the twenty and just a short few plays later my WR Kevin Smith was stiff arming his way to the endzone to bring the score back to 24-17. The very first play after the kickoff my SS Justin Glenn popped the ball free from HB Rell Lewis, who had a monster game btw. The Huskies recovered the ball and found the endzone 15 seconds after their last touchdown.

We have a tie ball game and I'm feeling much better after two great series by my defense and with my offense now clicking.

Unfortunately, I didn't take into account another stellar smash mouth drive by Jayhawker. He pounded away at my defense and used up what little time was left in the game and found himself in field goal range. He netted a 24 yard field goal with just 24 seconds left to take the lead, and I had to use all of my timeouts up just to reserve that 24 seconds.

I would like to say that I took the kickoff back to the house for the win but I didn't. I couldn't even get my wide open receiver to catch a perfectly thrown ball on first down that would have been for about 30 yards and he would have been able to get out of bounds to boot.

No, no such luck, I had to wait for second down and a perfectly floated ball, over a blitzing linebacker, to my speediest receiver who took it 77 yards for a game winner with 6 seconds left.

This was by far the most gut wrenching game I've been apart of, my team was completely dominated:
TOP 20:42 to 7:18
Plays run 64 to 23

I was just fortunate to be able to make something out of the positive plays I had averaging 11.7 yards per play.

Once again Jayhawker, one heck of a game. Hopefully you didn't have to hit that bourbon bottle to badly.

Re: Connection issues in actual OD file vs no issues with same opponent in Play Now G
We have had this problem as well in our OD. One of the members found a post (might have been here) that claimed it was due to injured players. What we did was go to our depth chart and remove our injured players from the depth chart. Worked like a charm.

Found this on OS. Any injured players, Counselor?

This happened to us last night to but we did find a fix. Have the commish DELETE both users from the dynasty. Then reinvite both.

Shag, could you try this for those of us having issues? Kick us rather than have us drop?

I think I might have one injured player, but he is questionable rather than out for any length of time, if I'm remembering right.

Ah, Martinek is my starting RB stilll, and he's out for 7 weeks. I will have to change that up!

So this really COULD be Counselor's fault, lol

I have Jefferson and a linebacker injured but still starting, I'll sub them out

It sounds like taking them completely out of the three deep depth chart could help. This still sucks.

The main thing you guys need to look at is if the depth charts you have for each other match. It won't do any good to start switching guys around if you are not on the same page.

It's not my fault that your running back is too dainty to play major college football.

I would imagine you could add them back in once he game started, but not sure.

I would think that the only dainty players would be the ones who lost 51-7, but that's just me

Alright. I have to get some stuff for the Super Bowl party and then when I get back I will get everybody our and reinvite them. Seriously, I will kick Counselar and firesloth out and reinvite them when I can.

Interesting. I did switch one of my OLBs to MLB while I was waiting for Counselor last night. Perhaps that caused some mismatch in our rosters/depth chart, etc. that made the game barf? Maybe we need to delete our locally saved copies of the dynasty so that it syncs them? Ugh; who knows.

So confessions of a NCAA junky.

I had no idea until just a few minutes ago that the defensive pre-snap left trigger option was right stick activated not left stick activated. 150+ games played and I'm just figuring that out. *sigh*

That is a thought I had while I was getting stuff this afternoon. Instead of everybody saving their own file, they just upload the one when it is asked. That might fix the problem, but I do not know any effects it have on something else.
