Magicka Catch-All

I'd like an invite as well.

I'm in as well! See my sig for info

The quickest way to kill enthusiasm is by releasing a mess. Hopefully they're as responsive as they claim that they're going to be, but until I hear that the game is running fine, I'll content myself with the demo.

Looks like there's already been a patch.

Will be playing tonight, after 5/6pm EST. Lets get some games going!

I am absolutely in. Link in sig.

I audited my pile of shame last night, and I've decided I have to skip this one for now.

Damn you, Prozac! Am I going to have to gift you a copy or something?

Shut up Hypatian. Maybe the rest of us don't want to be burned alive ten million times. Did you ever think of that?

I don't want to be burned alive ten million times, either.

I just want to hang back and watch.

Nothing wrong with watching the world burn.

So Renji, Latrine, Stratego, and I all tried multiplayer a few times. Very buggy

Was this with or without the 500+ MB patch?

I'll give this a try. Invite, please.

Shoot me an invite please, I picked it up

Link should be in my signature...

After. Also, when I went back to play the SP it started me at the beginning of the game. I hadn't reached the second chapter, but I'd gotten to the first checkpoint stone. This game does not manage, or for that manner do imo, checkpoints well at all.

That's unfortunate. As much as I like the look of this game, it sounds like it's way too broken. I hope the next patch can get it up to speed.

I'm in, although I hear it's buggy as hell right now. Would be down for some coop for an hour or two in the next few evenings.

I got the demo, and couldnt' advance past the first 60 seconds of the game. It said to 'press shift and left click to use your sword'. It didn't work. Nothing I tried allowed me to break the barrier to keep going.

I'll give this one a few months to mature. I'm sure it'll be half off in a steam sale before long, at least by summer.

Well, I'm hosed. It's detecting something - probably my fancy-pants USB programmable mouse - as a joystick/keypad, and it wants it to be initialized. I found the discussion thread, but no luck.

I'm not sure it'll need months. It's close. It's not like Elemental, where the whole game was just unfinished and buggy. Single player seems to work well, and the design is a strong one.

My only real complaint about the single player is that the framerate doesn't feel as good as it should.... and I'm on a beefy, beefy machine. It gets little hitches when I'm moving around, just barely enough to notice, but not enough to impact gameplay.

The single player is very cool. The magic system is very complex, with a ton of interesting combos. I really like the feel of it. But MP is totally broken ATM.

According to the official forum, they have another patch ready for tomorrow... it's actually at Valve already, but I guess they need to publish it. The claim is that MP will work properly post-patch.

We'll see how that goes, but I think it'll be ready for most folks within a week. It's almost there.

Aww Steam isn't letting me add this game to my cart.

EDIT: Fixed. I think this was definitely a hiccup with Steam, not the game.

I've been really enjoying the single player too so far. It's quite fun to experiment around with different combinations of elements and ways to cast combos.

Also, it might just be me, but I love the humor. Personal favorite so far is the "This Is Magicka!" achievement. Oh, and the Bad Company 2 crossover (I'll leave it at that for spoilers' sake) is fun too.

Dont miss the Warhammer at Grim's Workshop

This game is completely, totally, ridiculously awesome, that is all.

I would like to join, please:

Same here. You running a Radeon card too?
