I'm so glad Community is back. Great episode with a witty ending.

I wonder if Slater is ever going to show up again?

In my dreams most nights. Don't worry. Annie's there too.

Agreed. That was a great ep. Troy's investigative techniques particularly. And I didn't think I'd ever be envious of a character named "Fat Neil", but here we are. "MEZZANINE!?"

In the end, it was hilarious, but with heart. That's why I tune in.

Spoiler:

I thought Jeff was running to Slater at the end. Others apparently felt the joke was too much a parody, but I laughed damn hard.

My wife was dreading that too.

And how good was the sweater joke with Theo?

That's a Cosby sweater! A Cosby sweater!

(High Fidelity, anyone?)

Ha! I thought the same thing.

"I gotta tell you, Rob, that's the worst f*cking sweater I've ever seen. It's a Cosby sweater. A COSBY SCHWEA-TAH! Did Laura let you leave the house like that?"

"nice sweater."

"thanks, my dad gave it to me."

hawww. I hope Warner becomes a regular on the show, although given his performance last night I'm not sure he's neurotic enough to fit in.

I do not like the use of Rich as a foil to Jeff, mostly because I don't really think of Jeff as lawful evil (although maybe I should). I just don't like the character, but moreover I also don't want to have there be an episode where he's actually a serial killer or murders babies or put that finger in the river.

Still, the writing is so great. <3 Community.

Sorry, Jeff's LE. Confirmed!

Hmm, not sure that I see Brita as being Chaotic Good, she can be pretty mean and selfish. I'd switch her and Troy. I agree with all the others though.

You'd think Shirley's quote would have Jesus in it.

"Neutral Good?" More like "Neutral Hot" am I right?

/highfive

And this is totally overthinking this, but I would swap Jeff and Pierce. Pierce clearly does thing a certain way all the time whereas Jeff is a bit more malleable.

Pierce! Don't switch with Jeff!

+1 for switching Britta and Troy. She has too many episodes exploring the vindictive, evil side of post modern feminism for me to call her "good."

Not sure I'd switch Pierce and Jeff, though -- I'd switch the Dean and Jeff, personally. I know that Jeff's good deeds come by reluctantly, but they do happen.

I disagree on the Britta/Troy switch. Troy is far too guided by his id to not be Chaotic Neutral--the picture perfectly encapsulates this: there is a giant cookie, he will eat it. As for Britta, she and the others may have been corrupted by the power of Abed's awesome snappage, but her drive was very Chaotic Good: anti-establishment, and trying to make things better for people.

Remember, alignment is not shorthand for a personality, it is simply a guide for an ethical foundation.

So let's talk about last night's new episode instead.

Dildopolis?

And the best Pierce line of the night: "Ain't no party without drugs!"

Chang still crazy, but at least somewhat useful.

Earlier in the season/show, Annie's quips about going to rehab just seemed like easy jokes about high-stress overachievers. Now they're fleshing that stuff out into a deeper character. I'm liking it!

Senor Chow Yun Chang

I liked it a lot, but it was...a little slight, I guess. I'd have preferred it if Pierce never brought up the money, letting Annie carry herself away, only to recover at the end. Oh well, still really funny.

The Jeff story was great for how simple it was. Jeff being harried and desperate is hilarious--his scene with silent Abed was amazing.

"How can it not be a great idea?"

"That's sweet, want me to go get Chang so you can tell him yourself?"

I cannot stop giggling at the concept of the Period Fairy. Likewise with Chang's "Is it because I'm Korean?" bit.

As for the rest of the episode, it wasn't their best (Pierce holding the money over Annie's head was a little too clichéd) but it was still pretty fun, especially the whole conception of the anti-drug play.

The reference to San Ramon in the beginning of the episode surprised me. Google maps only seems to think there's the one, and I didn't know this was supposed to be set around here.

Looooooooooved this line. And his look. Creepy.

I'll just leave this here...

To comment on it would be to stain perfection with the grotesque, imprecise gruntings of mere mortals. If I could but wrangle the birth of stars and the music of the universe, I could express how this makes me feel.

Nerdgasm

I'm hoping for at least 1 or 2 references to Galstaff and "attacking the darkness," seeing as how Dan Harmon was in the comedy troupe that did that sketch

OMG OMG OMG!!!

Okay, I kept seeing that Thread Tag of OldWhiteMan sasy Community S2 and assumed it had something to do with Starcraft 2 or something.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this show and I can't wait for thursday!

Take your bow, sir, you have earned it.

Also, Allison Brie must be short as hell.

Well that was altogether delightful. Except for Chang. That was...troubling. I'm going to have to work hard to get the image of him out of my head so I can sleep tonight.
