(Super) Monday Night Combat Catch-All

Yesssss! I loved the aesthetic of this game when I first saw it, but I don't have a 360. So woot for it coming to PC!

Guess I'll have to read through this thread now and see if it's any good

To be honest, it's just more convenient to be at my PC in the winter than out in the cold(er) front room...great timing MNC!

Steam trailer is up and says dedicated servers.

Not only dedicated servers, but a level editor, like I posted on the previous page.

Um. Hells yes. Bought. Gimme beta!

MNC PC beta is now available, I'm just waiting for some first opinions.

Would love to hear some impressions

Ditto! Still on the fence about this.

I only hopped in for one game (and it's still in beta for another month). Impressions? I'm encouraged. There are a few issues (UI is a little wonky in the port, can't auto-join servers, not sure about joining friends through steam) but I'm confident that the dev will fix them because they've been as responsive as they can be on XBLA.

The controls map well to mouse/keyboard, there's a lot of options available (doesn't suffer from shoddy port problems where they don't recognize that users want a ton of resolutions etc.), dedicated servers (with full server browser), promise of a map editor etc.

It's looking up. At $15 (13.50 for preorder) I think it's a good bet for people who would think they might be interested. This game isn't a TF2 ripoff despite the art style, and I can see myself playing this, TF2, and a military shooter (MW2 or BC2) all quite regularly depending on my mood.

Postscript: I played this game for 50 hours on XBLA...way more than got my money's worth.

The steam forums and the Uber forums seem like a good place to start. From what I've read it seems like a fairly good game, although there's still some minor issues (surprise! it's beta). I think I'm going to dive in for this one.

I played it on XBLA and I really liked the concept but playing shooters on a console has always been annoying for me. I downloaded the beta last night and found that the mouse controls are way too sensitive on default but was able to lower it down and it played pretty well, but had no sound. Turns out any 7.1 setup (which the G35 headset is) won't work. The devs are working on it though.

It's fairly well done so far. When it gets going it's good fun, although if you're looking for a stable polished release, wait until January.

Like carrotpanic, I also played MNC on XBL for many hours. Great game IMO. If enough PC-only guys get the game, and some of the XBL guys double dip to PC, I would be happy to join in.

Someone should make a GWJ MNC steam group and invite me (ID in sig).

One week until final PC release with the 10% discount.

After a week delay for more beta:

Uber[/url]]We also welcome a new character to Monday Night Combat on Steam. He's well known in certain circles. Find out in two days.

Monday Night Combat releases on Steam this Monday. Buy before February 1st to get surprise crossover content with another game.

Hey guys, Hats!

I promise myself to play some tonight. Or forget again.

How is the PC port?

Don't think I'm buying it now, but might down the road.

From what I've played of beta it's quite a bit of fun. Really something I could see playing a bunch with goodjers.
Never played it on 360 though so have nothing to compare it to.

I've had fun with it, more with the MP though. Server connection was buggy, but it's been a couple weeks since I last played. If it looks fun to you I'd recommend it.

I've had it since it came out on Xbox. Just thinking about it in the inevitable steam sale.

Hell, it's on sale right now. Sure, it's only 10% off, but the game is only $13.50. Cheapies.

Yep.

I just don't expect to play it as much on PC as I did when it came out on Xbox. So I'll wait. Plenty to play right now.

Crossover stuff with TF2 on the TF2 Blog.

Also they put a new launch trailer on Steam about the hats/MNF customizations.

Played today and had a great time! Can't wait to get some goodjer games going.

While we wait for Magicka to get fixed/patched, I say we setup some (Steam) MNC meet-ups.

Group created and invites sent out. I also created an event for 9 EST tonight. Come in Vent if you can.

I may or may not be able to make it for tonight, but I'd love a group invite. (Steam link in sig)

TouchpadMcNomic shall be there!

Could I please get an invite.

Does it not have in-game voice?
