I see that Oregon State and Michigan have played. This week will be a long week as I will give firesloth every opportunity to play his game since he is not back yet from his trip.

After our great game last year, I'd hate to have to play the computer. Hurry back, Firesloth!

I wasn't even thinking about that. I should have waited until I was less distracted.

I had a big lead, blew it and then misused my timeouts in the last few minutes.

A terrible, terrible performance...highlighted by my db's inability to cover a corner route. Too many big plays were given up.

Up 45-7, running out the clock, game freezes with 1:11 left.

Stop running up the score and the game might not feeze on you.

lol! I put in my second team and was chewing clock. After a first down, the game locked up. I think AI hit the reset button me! I sent Jay a message since he was to see my score on his friends list so Shenanigans aren't declared on me. :p

Take 2, similar results. LSU wins big in a tune up game for Rutgers. Jordan Jefferson was player of the game.

Squeezed out a victory over USF 32-24. Only highlight was that my kicker booted one from 57 yards with room to spare. Which might be good to know in the future.

I got a message from Kush saying that BigHoppa was indisposed for now. I have moved him from Houston to Idaho. Bill: whenever you want to play your game, go ahead.

Rutgers wins 48-7 over Syracuse. This sets up next week's undefeated matchup between Rutgers (7-0) and LSU (6-0).

Counselar, when are you available? Sometime late tomorrow evening (after 10 pm is best)? I *could* possibly do one in the early afternoon during a boy's nap, as well, but that would depend on everything working out. If it does, 1 to 2 pm would be possible range of start times.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas that was celebrating it. I hope Santa got some nice, new games for your system. We have 4 games left to play for this week.

Boise State vs. Notre Dame (Counselar vs. firesloth)
Houston vs. Navy (Bill Bonney). Hoppa asked to be moved so the game can get in.
Penn State vs. Northwestern (shonuff27)
Washington (Redhwk) vs. Arizona

I can probably do 11:30 or midnight Eastern tomorrow.

The Huskies will get their game in sometime tomorrow.

Navy will be ready to go Monday.

The Husky defense came to play again today, shutting out the Wildcats 45-0 and holding them to 96 yards of offense.

Washington's offense on the other hand put up 475 yards, led by backup redshirt freshman Nick Montana's 281 yards in the air and 3 TDs. Chris Polk led the charge on the ground with 155 yards, most of those coming on a 95 yard run in the 1st quarter.

I'll see what I can do to be around then. I say >60% chance I'll be able to be around then.

EDIT: I won't be making it tonight...let's try for tomorrow.

Sounds good.

I'll try and get my game in, sometime today.

Cool. See you then.

Great game, Firesloth.

Notre Dame took down underrated Boise State, 41-34 in overtime.

ND upsets Boise State, 41-34 in double OT.

Counselar played a great game, and I pretty much thought I was sunk. We ended the 1st 7-6, and at the half it was 17-6, BSU. In the second half I kept clawing my way back, but every time it looked like I might break through, I committed a turnover, one of which was a pick-6. The last of these was an INT thrown on about the 10 yard line as I was driving in with only 2:29 left in the 4th.

I managed to control the clock a bit, since I had three time outs, and force him to punt with 32 seconds left. I started with the ball on my own 40 and got a nice 25 yard reception down the middle of the field to Kyle Rudolph. I called the wrong play, and ended up wasting a lot of time resetting my routes...but I almost squeezed in a TD with 11 seconds to go, except that I threw the ball too late.

So, last ditch effort. The clock reads 0:06. I have my stud TE on a fly route while my equally stud WR is on a deep slant. I throw to the TE Kyle Rudolph who catches the ball just before the two cross each other's paths. The single zone defender follows the WR, and Rudolph gallops in for the TD! Being a wimp, I kick the PAT to tie the game, and we go to OT.

In the first OT, I managed to finally stop BSU at the 1 yard line forcing him to kick a FG. Part of this is due to the fact that BSU's stud QB Kellen Moore has gone out injured for several plays. My drive stalls, as well, and I kick a FG, the fourth of my kicker's day. I get the ball back and manage a deep pass to TE Rudolph, who slips into a soft spot in the zone, for a 25-yard TD.

BSU is up. Ware manages to get a first down before Moore finally comes back in. However, he throws a short 3-yard completion followed by three incompletes in a row. On the last of these, 4th-and-7 from about the 8 yard line, I call a fortuitous blitz, which sends Moore scrambling. He throws to an open underneath receiver, but a lineman has gotten down field, and the ball bounces off of his shoulder pads.

Great game Counselar!

TE Kyle Rudolph was the player of the game, finishing with 8 catches for 203 yards and 2 TDs. TE Mike Ragone also scored an important TD. QB Dayne Crist finished with 4 TDs, but a costly 2 INTs. He went 23-36 for 387 yards.

Kellen Moore finished 17-33 with 316 yards and 3 TDs to 0 INTs. Both rushing attacks were mediocre.

That means that the LSU/Rutgers matchup is the battle of the remaining undefeateds!!!!
(*EDIT*: Remaining Human Undefeateds)

The BS/ND game sounded like one of those games we all wished we could be able to join and just watch, a feature EA Sports really needs to add in future games.

This would be a "killer app" to me. Imagine if we could get an Xbox Live party together to watch the LSU-Rutgers collision! I'd spend an hour doing that!

Somehow scoring a TD to tie with no time on the clock and winning in double OT only managed to be my 6th most exciting game, according to EA.

With ND previously ranked #11, and I don't see Boise falling too far, we SHOULD see 5 human teams in the top 10: ND, Wash, BSU, RU, LSU.

*EDIT*
Also, to be noted, when LSU faces Rutgers this week, we will be seeing 2 Heisman Trophy candidates take the field, Rutgers' Joe Martinek-HB (#3) and LSU's Jordan Jefferson-QB (#5). There is truly a lot on the line when these two teams take the field in Week 10.

GAME OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still don't understand how Kellen Moore isn't a Heisman candidate. He is having an amazing season throwing the ball, and I'm doing everything I can to stack the deck in his favor!

No kidding.

Kellen Moore finished 17-33 with 316 yards and 3 TDs to 0 INTs. Both rushing attacks were mediocre.

While his completion percentage isn't that high, 316 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs is a very good stat line. I think the logic for Heisman consideration and ranking, for that matter, is a little dubious. Then again, it's the same in real life.

EDIT: I should say that my DBs got their mitts on a lot of passes, but either the high ranking of your QB or the low rankings of my players' catch ratings meant there were no INTs.

Moore really pulled your team through last night, though. On that first drive alone you must have had at least 4 third-and-long situations that he defeated with tight passes that my players had no chance to get.

Because he plays for Girlsie St.

Just remember, you asked.
