First Trailer

Their Showing at E3

The demo is sitting on my machine at home, waiting for me to be done here...waiting...waiting...waiting...

Do you need to be a PSN+ subscriber for the demo?

I'm hoping Amazon throws a credit up for pre-ordering this. I have been watching for the last few months and they haven't had anything yet.

You do not, because I am not, and I have it, waiting...waiting...waiting...

Nice, I will download this tonight.

Subscribing. This plus Dead Space 2 within a week of each other = lots of gaming goodness incoming.

Amazon will give you the credit retroactively if you pre-order before they announce one.

Great week of demos. LBP2, ME2, DS2. Must get home to my PS3! Silly Christmas in the way.

I could be playing the demo right now. Right now! But I know that if I do, I won't go to bed tonight, so I'm showing restraint and waiting for tomorrow when I'll have plenty of hours to sink into it. The anticipation, however, is murderous. I just wanted to let you know how much physical pain this is causing me. My balls feel like they're being molested by cheese graters.

I want this game so bad.

I'm rather impressed with LBP2 so far, with what I've played (PS+ = LBP2 BETA), and I've got to say: WOW. The user created content is quite something to behold. I did download the demo though I hope the Media Molecule levels are the same as in BETA as I don't want to get too ahead of myself, story wise .

Thing's I'm looking forward to:

Spoiler:

Animated Sackboy Skin
Animated level wallpaper
Designing top-down survival games
Composing music
Adding voices to AI
Awesome levels designed by other people... (looking at you, creator of H.A.T.E)
Sack Bots!

What? The demo is just three story levels and some trailers? CHRISTMAS IS RUINED!!!

I just played the demo. I thought one of the big changes was that they were going to change the floaty controls? It still felt very unresponsive.

I think I had read that they weren't changing them due to compatibility issues with levels from the first LBP. However, custom levels from LBP 2 will be able to change the jump physics and make things feel less floaty if desired.

It was a while ago, so hopefully I'm not making that up or misremembering.

It certainly seems to be the case, judging by the competitive multiplayer level in the demo. And the second level, actually, with the animal-vehicles. Running around with the puppy felt a lot less floaty to me.

But maybe I'm crazy. I'm one of those weird people who actually likes the way LBP handles, don't find it unresponsive at all, and didn't have much trouble with the Wheel of Death near the end of the first game's story mode. You just need to be more methodical than in most other platformers, especially while jumping around on moving platforms as you'll retain your momentum when jumping from them.

Yeah, the puppy and rabbit felt more responsive but using the sackboy on its own felt the same as the first game. My biggest problem is when you press the jump button their is a slight lag before the sackboy actually jumps.

If this is the case, I'm hoping they include an option to change the character physics for the Media Molecule levels in the final version. I don't see what the big deal is if your not accessing levels from the first game. Otherwise this will probably be a no-go as a co-op experience with my girlfriend.

I wonder if changing the physics of the jumping would break the level. It's certainly something that was frustrating for me in the beginning, but I got used to as time went on, though there are some levels requiring very carefully timed jumping that still make me want to smash the controller.

I downloaded the demo, but havent had a chance to boot it up yet. I've been watching all the gameplay videos, some of the stuff looks amazingly fun. Has anybody tried the Sackboy's Prehistoric Move downloadable? It's the multiplayer that requires somebody use the Move controller to manipulate the environment. I haven't played it with anybody to know how it works. There are some instances I think where the person using the move and the person moving the sackboy have to be pretty timed together, and I wonder if thats fun or just frustrating. I'd imagine this is the model of support for the Move in LBP2 as well, and it seems a little bit tacked on, but I'm still glad they're trying to incorporate some motion controls into games, as it will hopefully inform the design of something truly amazing for the Move, still waiting though...

It's also amazing to me that people are able to make these levels and compose music with just the controller. I think I'd go nuts. It's like trying to write a novel using a cell phone. I could see my 12 year old self really getting into it though.

I guess I should pre-order that collectors edition from Amazon now...

My roommate and myself took a whack at it, he used the Move & I was Sackboy, There was a lot of timing involved, true, but most of the failures came from him screwing me over with the Move controller or me being too careful of such nefarious acts (sometimes leading me to my demise as well).
Overall it is worth it, though if you are getting LBP2, I would wait as it was announced to be included in LBP2 already (third paragraph under Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves).
Just think of it as something else to look forward to.

I usually don't play demos, but I think I'm going to play this one.

Hopefully they fix the online co-op, as the few times I tried to play it was a mess. The time when we went for the 3 and 4 player prize bubbles resulted in you guys dragging me through the levels while I died every once in a while.

Initial reviews are out. Unsurprisingly, they're all great so far.

I'm a bit undecided if I want to pick this up at launch or wait a bit. I didn't get a PS3 until late in 2009, so by the time I got around to playing LBP 1, there was a ton of amazing community-made content to explore. I'm much more interested in playing custom content than making it myself.

Word is there's already a ton of user created content on the LBP2 network, from all the beta people. I don't know if it's getting wiped before launch, but if not then there should be plenty available.

I've had my CE preorder in since it was announced. Can't wait for this to land.

I bit on the pre-order collector's ed. I didn't even finish the first one, but collector's ed comes with a sackboy plushie. SACKBOY PLUSHIE!

Forgot to install the demo after I got back from holiday. Guess I should try that still.

Sack boy goodness lands next week. I have a feeling my Minecraft time will be greatly impacted.

Had to cough up the extra $$ for the LE. Wife thinks sackboy is too cute, so I must suprise her with her own plushie of said burlap dude.

I pointed out plush sackboy to wifey. She said "we can't buy that until we beat the first game." She's better at clearing the pile than me apparently.

What sold me was the book ends. The plushie was just gravy, but those book ends are simply must have. I also love dressing up my sackboy, so all the extra costumes are a plus too. I'm totally going to deck mine in the Gonzo head and the AC2 body costume, if I can.

Pre-ordered this game a while ago after trading in some old stuff to get rid of and I needed something to do with the $$. Plus I figured we'd get this and just skip the original. No special edition for me. It'll be interesting to finally be playing a particular PS3 game at the same time as others. Especially this one.

YAY it's finally arrived! My fandom knows no bounds:

What's the middle title?

Mine is here today, too. Looking forward to it.

I think it's the game of the year edition.
