Spaceship>Truck. Its a fact.

Real truck > fake spaceship.

Sadly.

Wish I could make it, but I'll unfortunately be working.

I haven't heard of anything in the area, no.

Should there be? We're still doing something on the 27th because Doak is in town but if we could get some people who can't come on the 27th around for the 31st, then maybe we can put something together.

So, quick poll: Who would come to something on the 31st?
(and keep in mind the 27th is happening regardless)

I would love to come, but I will be in Chicago for the Holiday and family time.

Hopefully I can make the next one!

Would that I could, buddy. Would that I could.

Maybe, so far this is the only offer on my table for New Years festivities.

Oilypenguin: Tigerbill's last (and only) choice.

I'm not doing anything that evening for sure, just gauging interest at the moment. So, if enough people want to do something, I'll put something together.

Since it's New Year's it would end up being more of a party than just board games so the spouses can entertain themselves while we do nerdy things. I had a New Year's party last year that was predominantly drunken Rock Band, so that's certainly happening if we end up doing anything.

Oily you have the sweetest pillow talk.

I would be more likely to make a New Years get together; as I get the Friday before Christmas off not the Monday after. But if my friends in Pitt ask me to come party with them I will. Mostly because my friend is a ballerina and thus has HOT ballerina friends.

This could be a Pittsburgh thing. I would be open to having a few people over at my place.

I'm off that day, so you can count me in.

Thanks! Santa's hardcore.

I still don't know about a New Year's party but if anyone is planning on coming to my place on the 27th, send me a PM and I'll get you the details.

Count me in for any future boardgame gatherings, but I can't make the 27th one.

Doak attack!

I'm out as well. Just too much going on.

The 27th is out for me, but I'm still up for a New Years shin dig.

Ok, well the offer stands:

If anyone is interested in getting together on the 27th, send me a PM

Also, If anyone can commit to a New Year's thing, shoot me a PM. That shindig will be with wives and such. Drinking, some games, Rock Band, more social and less outright nerdy, etc. This isn't for sure yet but I can promise you a week's notice if we're doing it. So if you and the Mrs (or Mr) have nothing to do on New Year's and want to hang out, let me know.

I just threw this out there, if anyone is interested.

By the way, did those two dudes who work at the office get found out/fired/caned for what we did to that place?

OH! get this, I finally got around to asking them about that (I was afraid to because of the hole in the wall that I took upon myself to paint and the puddle of vomit I found out about days later):

1.) MATT (the one who was there and left halfway) put that hole in the wall months ago. I fixed it.

2.) No one found any puke outside (thankfully)

3.) Their boss had a mild tantrum about someone being in his office (which isn't untrue, I just think he was being paranoid since we were just in there to plug in a network cable and then blocked off the door).

We actually got invited back, if you can believe it.

Plans for next year will probably mean that place doesn't have the facilities we need but it's nice that our hard work cleaning up before and after paid off.

yes.

The person who went into his office to plug in the cable was Matt. I was the one who helped him block it off afterward.

In any case, that was the only negative feedback (which is remarkable considering the number of stumbling drunks that night).

So, what's the date for the 2011 edition? The 23rd is on a Sunday this year, so International Goodjer Day sounds like it should fall on the next-to-last weekend in October, as a general rule. It probably wouldn't hurt to put in for my time off at this point

Heh. One step at a time. I hope to be able to announce a date in February or March.

I hear tell of a Great Council of Geek Wizardry or something that will be convening to make grand world-spanning S&T plans. Something like that.

Now you hush about all that.

And we can't call it that or Hedge will get a big head.

OP make sure you take my availability into consideration ;). I'm shooting to make it out to your next big event.
