WOW GWJ ALLIANCE GUILD Primer for CATA- (please members only post) UPDATED 11/30

Pfft. Wall of text? That wasn't even a curb, let alone a wall. Its good. Personally, I'd prefer EPGP be used the same way for armor/weapons/trinkets/etc, but I can live with how this is set up. Should work, and you can't make a foolproof system.

I'll try to compose the wall of text in a better format when I get a chance. Was trying to get the info out there for people to read and digest before we hit expansion.

Maybe it's only a wall of text for me because I'm a total noob at raiding and all the intricacies involved with avoiding loot drama.

I like the loot system.

I was hoping for a count of people who would be up for weekly BG runs. Additionally, season 10 is a week after Cat drops. I am not sure if I will be 85 by December 14(law school and all), but I am hoping to have a team set up for 2, 3, 5 man arena. I know Fed and Elewis expressed interest, anyone else?

Here is what I would like. A 2 person team can have 4 people signed on, allowing "alternates." I would love it if we had 10-15 interested characters so that we could field 2, 3, and 5 man teams.

I'm interested in both BG runs and arena teams.

I would be very interested in a bg group. I couldn't care less about arena, only problem is I'm wanting to milk 80-85 for all it's worth. So that would pretty much put me out of the running for a bg team. But if anyone is interested later on I am game

Devington

TLDNR so I agree in principle

The guild loot rules (cliff's notes edition):

Intention: To clearly identify our loot system so we don't have drama over it. I believe the system is balanced but we will take a look at it as we go along.

Information: EPGP (effort points gear points) system will be used for rare items Weapons, Trinkets. Open roll system is be used on all other items. To be determined still, tier gear tokens. EPGP will only be used for the highest tier level and for officially scheduled guild runs.

Point allocation: Points are collected as an account, not on each individual toon. Point awards are two fold. 1a. Nominal award for showing up 5 minutes prior to the raid start and are fully prepared for raiding (flasks, gemmed, enchanted, the usual). 1b. A nominal award for running the progression content that night allocated at the end of the raid. 2. Awards are allocated when a trinket/weapon drops and is awarded to a player. Points are as follows : 1a & 1b. 10% of item weapon/trinket tier level. 2. 50% of weapon/trinket tier level. (might need to adjust the points a bit, we will see)

Gear allocation: Weapons/Trinkets- based on EPGP. Other gear is on an open roll priority system.
Priority is: Main>Main Off Spec>Alt on spec> Alt off spec. 1 Epic item is awarded per toon per run. Additional epics will be awarded if no other toon presents need on priority system. Main is always greatest priority.

Alts: Alts are not awarded EP during a run in which they participate in if the account owner chooses to play this character on their own free will rather than their main toon. Alts will be elevated to Main Status if it is requested by the raid leader to make a run happen or adjustments to group dynamics is needed. This shift in status will be announced before the raid starts.

Resets: EPGP will be reset with each new tier level.

Summary: Above rules will guide us through the first part of Cata. They will be monitored to make sure they are providing us with a fair way to distribute loot. They are designed to be transparent and honest. Our main goal is to provide an environment where all can have fun and to eliminate situations where hard feelings can occur. Remember to keep the "be good to one another" ideal in the forefront of your mind when raiding and have a good time.

I'm totally on board with this EPGP setup.

At this point I would just be ecstatic to have some company and someone to talk to on Vent. I am anxious to see what new battlegrounds are introduced, and new PVP zones. I like Wintergrasp a lot, the BC and Wrath battlegrounds are awesome. They are even more fun after a day of futility in Warsong.

They have changed the pools of players for battlegrounds. It is no longer 10 levels, but 5-IE no longer 30-39, but 30-34 and 35-39. I am not sure if sub 85 players can group with 85 players. But I only see this change as a good thing, in days of yore it was only sensible to do battlegrounds at '8 or '9 to curb the gear and talent gap. The difference between 40 and 49 is a big one in terms of stats, spells.

Depending on how things shake out schedule-wise I might not mind doing some PvP. I'm expecting to have a rogue, DK, and warlock at 85.

I'd actually go for some group PvP as long as there were GWJ folks to participate with. I enjoy going into the BG's as a healer, and that's only fun when someone is actually watching my back while I keep them alive. This obviously doesn't happen very much in the standard random queue battlegrounds.

Arena combat is less likely for me. I'm just not that hardcore about things, and I don't have the twitch reflexes to compete with the folks who get heavily into the ranked combat.

My playtime for the first month of Cataclysm is going to be very low, perhaps even non-existent for the last 2 weeks of December and first week or so of January. After that settles down though I expect my priest will be 85 in very short order and ready to get into all kinds of trouble.

I enjoy battlegrounds very much and would like to have a group of gwjers on vent attacking the horde. I'm not into arena play.

Same here.

PvP as a group is a hella lot more fun than solo. It's also surprisingly effective if you have a group with a healer or two. A well oiled group can dominate a BG.

Thirded.

I'd love to run some Arathi or AVs with a big group of GWJers.

I love the Battlegrounds. I can play offspec and do the Fury Warrior thing, or you can plant me on a flag with a healer. I'm down either way.

I really think we all need to try arenas. It is really cheap to get onto a team, and gear is easier to get than ever. Rated Battlegrounds and Arenas are necessary for gaining guild XP and certain perks. Best part, the rated battleground needs to be 80 or 100 percent guild members. Most important, getting the right PVP kills gives us access to a pet.

In a perfect world we would have 15 people in arenas, but I am hoping for 10.

Tagged for the future. I'm probably going to be playing low-level characters for long enough that the raid issues may be settled by the time I hit 85

Regardless, when I get there, I love battlegrounds!

AH CRITTER squad kill achievement. I was wondering why it was so low, because it is critters not mobs. Start killing those rabbits and scorpions folks!

Man, some will be challenging. City Attacker is kill 2500 Horde in a home city!

Killed an inordinate amount of skunks in Duskwood the other day. They were almost like roaches.

City Attacker wont take that long after some of us get leveled back up.

Do we have any guildies that are admins on the Vent server? We're going to need a couple more channels for Monday nights.

This looks like a job for MAGE ARCANE BLAST!

I started a 2 and 3 man arena team last night. With enough interest, I will spark up a 5 man. Send me a whisper when you are on if interrested.

I'm definitely interested. Xosa - resto/balance druid. I'll whisper you tonight.

I'll be interested when I get Gravemold up to level, but that's still a week or two away.

Finally my obsession with killing critters is going to pay off. Glorious.

We did get a win last night on our 2 man, GWJ Tu-tu. And then things fell to pop, Nyquil will put the damn kids to sleep people.

I am hoping 9 others are up for the battlegrounds.

KG if you want to spearhead the battlegrounds... I love me some battlegrounds.

KG once I finish leveling I'd like to join ya. Although I'm a hunter so instant PvP loss so they say

I'm into PvP so once I hit 85, I'm in for rated BG's etc.

So Tuesday I swapped over to survival. Yesterday at work I read up on the survival skills came home spent like 175 gold on survival glyphs and played like 3 dungeons.

So far I like it. I feel like I'm doing more. I got skada up and I'm dosing top 2 now.

I also read about using FD during a fight to lower threat and I never would have thought of that. So far the non heroic stuff it seems like it isn't needed.

Finally, yesterday was a bad day for pug tanks!
