This can't be done on GWJ quite yet, can it? I just hit Level 37 and am finally putting up times that get occasionally get me into the top 10th percentile!

<--- Would probably get housed without brake assist on.

As far as I'm concerned, it's nowhere near done. I still love the occasional race here and there, there's just too much game out right now.

100% agreed! Forza 3 still has lots of gameplay left and I binge a little on it every so often.

Add me I would love to play with you guys.

Forza 3 is awesome, even if I often unintentionally turn it into a demolition derby with my driving suckitude.

Always up for a friendly race, although you may have to message me on Steam to let me know to turn on the Xbox

Is there any sort of clan set up for this or do we have to friend request all over the place?

I don't have the link handy, but we do have a racing clan tag floating around out there: GWJ Racing Clan.

Add me to the list, I just received this in the mail from Goozex. Who needs GT5? My XBL profile info is in my sig. I'm eager to try this out based on the demo, seems like a solid racer.

Anyone catch the world premier trailer of Forza 4 on this year's Spike VGA's. *jaw dropped* This wasn't the Kinect game was it?

Nice little trailer, even it didn't show much.

Two points:
- The Kinect stuff is still clearly there - and is pretty much the only bit of actual game stuff they showed. Will this be a Kinect only title? Of course not. I imagine that they'd tell you that they view it as another layer in their approach to making the game as approachable as possible, while getting to play will some 'exciting technology'.

- Top Gear logo at the end of the trailer. I guess we can at least look forward to having the Top Gear test track? American or British? Rewatching the trailer, does anyone else feel like some of the video footage of that trailer was lifted from a Top Gear trailer/montage?

The Top Gear partnership was announced back in September. More. There's some Forza 3 content (car pack, video, theme), and it sounds like they are putting more in for 4. Some of that footage was from the new US Top Gear, so I'm not sure how much we can tell from that trailer. The only stuff I was sure was in game was that car walk around at the end and the close ups of tail lights and exhausts. That stuff was similar to the Kinect demo.

I can't help but feel like the Forza 4 announce is a little FU to the GT5 launch.

Absolutely, it was. Just like all of the Uncharted stuff that got leaked early when the NPD numbers came out showing the PS3 tanking hard.

I don't think the Forza guys feel particularly threatened by GT5, rather than having a little fun at their expense. "Oh, your racing game came out, eh? Awesome, it can compete with our sequel." Or maybe, "betcha we'll get to 6 first."

Anyone have suggestions for a force feedback wheel to play this? It came in the xbox slim bundle I got and a wheel would be a ton of fun.

And the Forza guys have zero input on marketing. And marketing guys are all about just this kind of one upsmanship.

I think there is only one 360 compatible wheel you can use and they don't even make it anymore.

There are some non MS wheels. Some are pretty expensive. For instance, the Fantec that works across 360, PC, and PS3.

The MS wheel is OK if you can find them, but it's not up there with some of the better wheels. Hopefully with Forza 4, they'll make another one, or Logitech will get the license to allow their wheels to work.

Nope, there is another option, if you want to drop 300...or 500 like I just did. My new toy:

Fanatec GT2

Otherwise just go to ebay for a MS wireless wheel, I just sold 2 of mine on there for about 50 a piece.

edit: Tannhauser'd (kind of, different fanatec wheel..but they are both available)

I would absolutely love to use my G25 in Forza! C'mon Microsoft, just allow it! Logitech isn't even the official racing wheel maker of your closest competitor, Gran Turismo, anymore (it's now Thrustmaster for GT5).

Playing GT5 has me thinking about picking up Forza again. The things that GT does right are great, but you have to put up with so many frustrations to get to that stuff. Career progression is night and day between the two. Forza 3 made such a huge stride with allowing you to pick events that fit what you wanted to do, what cars you had, play tracks you hadn't seen yet, etc.

I'd love to get a wheel, but I really, really, really don't want any more plastic stuff in my house.

Guy practices on Nürburgring in Forza, then flies to Germany to run the real thing in a Porsche Carrera S.

Pretty interesting piece. Not an original idea, but always interesting to me to see the similarities and differences in virtual vs real world tracks.

I love these types of articles! I believe they did one a while back with Road America I believe, for the Road & Track magazine.

Top Gear did the same years ago with Laguna Seca too. It was quite fun.

If you do like the topic of virtual to real-world training transfer there are many studies. This does not qualify as a study but an interesting "test" : World's Fastest Alien
