How can Hugo Strange be new when his records and office were in the records room in Arkham Asylum?

I think the word is: SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

VGA trailer. People are strange, when you're a stranger...

Hmm, interesting choice for the villain.

Looks more awesome than I could've hoped for.

Was that Christopher Lee?

Very impressive so far. I hope we get to see some ingame stuff soon.

It was just one line, but did Batman sound off to anyone else? I had to look it up to make sure it was still Kevin Conroy.

It sounded like Kevin Conroy doing his Christian Bale impression.

Interesting. Looking forward to this... love to see some more gameplay.

For the non-batman geeks, who is Dr. Hugo Strange?

From wiki:

In the Post-Crisis continuity, Strange was reintroduced in the "Prey" arc as a psychologist enlisted to help a police taskforce capture Batman. While brilliant at his work, he was portrayed as being equally psychotic; Strange was so obsessed over Batman that he took to dressing up like him in private. Strange ends up escalating the scales against Batman by brainwashing a police officer to become a violent vigilante, framing Batman for kidnapping the Mayor's daughter, and deducing Batman's true identity as Bruce Wayne. In the end though, Batman managed to foil Strange's plot and forced him to doubt his own conclusion about his true identity, before he could share it with anyone else.

According to Commissioner James Gordon, Strange was "abandoned as a child, grew up in state homes. A bright kid, but he apparently had a hell of a temper. Nobody knows how he put himself through college and medical school." (Batman and the Mad Monk) He was raised in an orphanage on the lower East Side of Gotham, not far from the infamous "Crime Alley", in the heart of a part of Gotham known as "Hell's Crucible". Strange became professor of Psychiatry at Gotham State University, but had his tenure suspended due to his increasingly bizarre theories in genetic engineering. At some point, he is approached by an Indian man named Sanjay, who seeks Strange's aid in curing his sick brother. Strange agrees to help, and Sanjay works loyally by his side from that point onward. Borrowing money from gangster Sal Maroni, who is in the employ of Gotham's criminal kingpin Carmine Falcone, Strange sets up a lab. He then bribes a corrupt orderly to give him incurably insane inmates from Arkham Asylum - who have been institutionalized so long that they will not be missed.

Strange's experiments have literally monstrous results, with his test subjects turning into gigantic, mindless "Monster Men", possessing superhuman strength and cannibalistic instincts. Strange uses these Monster Men to raise the money he needs to pay back his Mafia connections.

He's a mad scientist who knows that Batman is Bruce Wayne. Personally I can't remember ever having read or seen anything involving Hugo Strange, but I think he is kind of a fan favorite villain as being one of the more dangerous opponents for Batman.

Nanananananananana-

Spoiler:

Batman!

Right, I've got nothing to add other than I'm happy Robin isn't showing up. Hopefully.

I'd put money on it. Speaking of which, check him out on this list of real life Hollywood bad-assery. Christopher Lee is number 9.

The trailer was astounding. It amazes me how lifelike so many of those animations appeared.

I think it sounds a lot like him, but doesn't have that old-ass-man-rumble. But then, Conroy sounded exactly like Conroy to me.

I was convinced in some frames in that squad leader/Strange interrogation was real footage super imposed into the CG environment...

Absolutely.

Wow.

And that Strange summary above sounds about right. I did a little reading up on him when we were discussing possibilities for the 3rd movie around here a while back, someone mentioned him. Very cool.

This is going to be fantastic. But the trailer.. man does that guy suck at freeform combos. Bad guys broke his grove at least 5 or 6 times

On Strange, I'm cool with that. I think they could have used just about any villain and not screwed this up.

What I find interesting about Hugo Strange being the primary villain is that it's rumored (Batman movie spoilers, maybe)...

Spoiler:

...Hugo Strange could be the villain in The Dark Knight Rises. Interesting, considering how the Joker was the villain in both the last game and movie.

Speaking of The Joker, I kinda want to see more of him. Mark Hammill did a bloody good job with the voice acting.

Go back and watch Batman TAS, Mark Hamill's always been good.

IIRC Hammil is signed on for Arkham City, so we'll be seeing more of him even if he might not be the omnipresent big bad this time like he was last time.

Yep, he's said that this game will be the final time he voices the Joker.

The movie tie in you have, when you don't have a movie tie in.

Another smart move for the franchise.

*sigh*

There will always be a great imitator out there, *points to the Back to the Future game*, but there's no denying Hammil's talent in this area. Yeah, really great trailer. Too bad the show didn't live up to that nice beginning reveal.
