SC2 Pro Tournament Discussion

Right, but that's on GOM's site. I just presumed nothing there worked, like they paid stream

I also liked how Artosis totally pimped up July the past week only for him to totally crap the bed.

I wouldn't say he crapped the bed. MC is also a former BroodWar A-teamer and he played amazingly well with great builds that I haven't seen any other Protoss do. On Xel'Naga July reacted very well and got like 5 Queens against the Void Rays but that wasn't enough. On Shakuras he did screw up his Hydra positioning and mismanaged his Corruptors a bit. That he lost isn't saying much about him, it says more about MC.

It sucks that July isn't getting Code-S =/ he actually is really really good, I'm sure he'll prove it to you later

Wow nestea vs makaprime

Brood Lords and ultras in a tournament

EU vs US

White-Ra vs EG.Machine (3:2)
Sjow - TT1 (3:0)

is really creepy looking

That was so satisfying to see FruitDealer dismantle the lameness of BitByBit.

I saw the PTR for Patch 1.2 is up. Do you think Blizzard takes the GSL into consideration when releasing patches? That'd be pretty crazy if 1.2 came out in the round of 8.

They didn't seem to mind introducing the last major patch during the middle of a tournament. I wouldn't be surprised to see it introduced before the finals of this one.

It would be much nicer if they waited to introduce it between seasons.

They said at Blizzcon that the patch adding chat channels will be out before the end of the year, which is rather soon. I doubt the patch will be in testing for less than two weeks. My guess is GSL3 is not going to be surprised with a patch for the finals.

If Nestea and Fruitdealer both win tonight's matches they'll play each other in the Semi-Final.

Could be epic.

HongUn and Rain are both playing really, really well though. Hard to say who will win either one.

Just woke up to witness the disappointment that is TSL_Rain. Terran should be banned from tournaments.

Terrible games today.

It's just that where the game is right now, TvZ is so strongly dependent on map-size. That's always been embedded in the core mechanics to some extent, but it's being exaggerated by these marine-SCV rushes people have gotten really good at.

That being said, two games Rain lost, he lost really bad.

Edit: Second series this morning is weird and kind of awful too, three games in.

Guess all zergs are {ableist slur} today, I don't know.

The building defense was fun to watch at least.

Ugh, what boring series. I think the retreating building wall was the most interesting thing that happened. I'm very surprised NesTea played that poorly, getting rushed three times on very similar strategies and doing nothing to change up his game.

Yeah those matches were really lame. I like how no one cheered when Rain won.

Rain just doesn't strike me as good enough to be in the final four. He's excellent at marine rushing but he got completely spanked when he tried to play straight up. MarineKing/FoxeR is the same thing, though his micro is exceptional.

Hmm... I didn't want another Zerg to win Season 3, but that was pretty disappointing. Those rushes against Nestea were just sad to watch.

I thought the HongUn/Fruitdealer game on Lost Temple was really fun to watch. That void ray must have had 50 kills. He played pretty well overall in the series, but he got a bit of help from poor choices by Fruitdealer.

Hopefully today is better. Rooting for MC and Jinro (obviously)!

Just got caught up.

Awful games.

One game in and today is already better than yesterday.

Rain apparently apologized to the Korean SC2 community for not giving good games hehe

I get up to make a cup of coffee and missed almost the entire Blistering Sands game. But games have been pretty fun thus far, even if they've been short.

Edit: Time for Jinro. Choya put up a good defense in game one, but Jinro's timing and unit composition was still just too much.

Jinro is so solid, he deserves to go far

Jinro does what MarineKing couldn't, landing those crucial EMPs!

I think my nerves are shot after that last game on Blistering Sands.

Who says Blistering Sands doesn't produce good games? That was awesome.

Holy crap that last game was tense, so much jabbing for position.
I can't help but feel Jinro would've lost if the P had upgraded range, despite him countering the DTs perfectly and following up with Banshee harass. PvT is rough for T lategame.

MC is beastly though, I wish Jinro was in the other side of the bracket.

Just waking up to see the results. Made me very, very happy.

Definitely. MC was so impressive in those games. I really wish he wouldn't have to play Jinro until the finals, as I obviously have to root for the foreign hero. MC looks much better than Choya did, so I'm not entirely optimistic for Jinro's chances on Friday.

Epic.

So happy to see Jinro get this far.

Yay my favorites are making it through. I am happy for HongUn because I love Toss and it's about time they get some rep in the final matches.

Overall though I have to root for Jinro since he plays with such an awesome non Korean style. I am also sick and tired of these Korean cheese games. Jinro is showing them how to really play Terran.
