Seconded! It was like watching bottled Cold War. Highly recommended.

Wow, no kidding. That was Game 3, to stave off elimination, and Game 4 was almost as epic. I haven't spoiled this for myself yet, just about to watch Game 5 and see who wins Dreamhack. Yeah, I'm a little behind

I want to watch the lead up games first. Slowly working my way through. The flight I have tomorrow + ipad should bring me up to speed.

I really liked watching AdelScott in this tournament, same for Morrow. They felt like new blood to the tournament scene and brought some interesting strategies to the series. I realize they didnt win, but I quite enjoyed there games.

I watched one of Morrow's games and it was pretty painful. Over the course of the game he must have suicided 10+ infestors by a-moving them with the rest of his army.

Finally got around to watching the Dreamhack finals myself. Very entertaining. Naama clearly wins a lot of games with his two-base slow tank push, but I really wish he'd work in taking a third in there at some point while he's got his opponent contained.

Jinro in and IdrA out. IdrA is a great player but he's way too predictable. He plays the same way every time and is prone to early aggression so it's no surprise that all of his opponents do exactly that.

Jinro did nothing spectacular but had some really solid build orders and made virtually no mistakes. I wouldn't mind seeing him be a little more aggressive but I can't fault him for playing the way he does.

IdrA lost fair and square on Blistering, but close spawns on Metalopolis against a T, especially one who goes 2 rax, there's not all that much he can do. T will win the vast majority of times. After the early aggression IdrA was behind on workers, MVP also had mules on top of that and an expo of his own. If he makes an army T will scan, won't attack and will win because of having such an economic lead If he drones up T will scan and kill you, assuming it's a good T and MVP certainly is.

It literally takes 5 seconds to push from your natural to the other guy's natural in close positions, you don't have any time to react. It's not impossible to win, but super close spawns like that heavily favours Terran.

So... July. Wow.

I mean, I think most of us expected him to be really good but his games against Alive are borderline perfect.

They were really impressive yeah, especially the Xel'Naga game. It was amazing to see how he totally controlled what the Terran was doing. At no point was he ever remotely close to losing.

Yeah. Leenock was also great, but watching July play that series was almost like watching a different game.

I don't have the highest hopes for HongUn (or any of the Protoss left), but I really enjoyed seeing carriers for the first time in the GSL

Edit: 4 protoss, 4 zerg, 8 terran in Ro16. For some reason, I thought there were a couple more zerg than that. 2nd day of Ro16 should be pretty exciting.

Damn, I feel so bad for Maka, he's among the korean terrans I like but NesTea was just overwhelming and Maka was just stimming like crazy for no reason.

Very nice seeing Fruitdealer curbstomp two lame SCV all-ins.

It's good that I don't play anymore, seems like every crappy terran is sending all his SCVs every time he attacks, Jesus Christ...

I am kinda glad Boxer lost. I always like rooting for the underdog. Now it's time for me to root for Jinro and the rest of the Protoss players.

FruitDealer laid the smack down on BitByBit. That all-in drone defense was awesome and a great way to counter the SCV rush.

I cannot even describe how happy this made me. I got so, so, SO tired of the Marine/SCV all in garbage. Seeing it fail a few times has been pure joy.

Also: Maka/Nestea game 2 is awesome.

Shoot, it's a shame I don't have a pass. The first game was good, and if the second game was close, Nestea was seriously on the ropes in that match.

Probably been watched , but I quite enjoyed Maka's comeback vs goma. Goma/littleboy seriously matches his name too....

That move with the tanks was mind boggling although I think Jinro would've won anyway.

So awesome that he got Code-S

Woke up early on my day off. Watching GSL.

Really hoping to see Jinro clinch Code S today. Would be nice to have a foreigner guaranteed to be in a bunch of future tournaments.

*Wow. They're very decisive "one or two battles and it's over" type games but definitely watch MC and July.

*Aaah! Jinro 2-0's PoltPrime, makes the round of 8 and clinches Code S

*And choya takes out mvp in what is to most an upset.

Wow, July out - hard to believe. Jinro FTW!

Damn. I'm way behind, but I just watched GSL Open 3: Clide v. Leenock. I'm glad it had been so long that I forgot the spoiler I read about the outcome of the match. Holy crap.

Psyched to see Jinro win. He plays such a solid style of play. Not so psyched to see FoxeR make it. He does the same thing over and over and over and (almost) no one can beat him at it.

I also liked how Artosis totally pimped up July the past week only for him to totally crap the bed.

Jinro appears he's going up against choya in the quarters. choya is a solid player but I think Jinro can take him. choya's win vs. MVP was more MVP making some incredibly dumb mistakes (like showing his Maurader opening and then doing nothing to counter the obvious Void Ray response) than choya's skill.

Man, good for Jinro. Is this the first time a foreigner has made it this far in the GSL?

Is GOM broken for anyone else? It's telling me I haven't purchased a ticket for the season, and I can't watch any of the VODs.

Seems to be timing out a bit. *click click*

I hope it gets fixed soon, or this is kind of going to put a damper on my plans to finally finish catching up this weekend.

On the plus side, the Gom Open Season 3 app is up for the iPhone now. I decided to go in for it to see how the app does (even though it seems excessive to have to pay for that separately) because I watch a lot of stuff on my iPhone anyway. Seems pretty nice. I may consider going iPhone only for the next event. Maybe. (Although it would be better if they could link accounts somehow.)

Will definitely make it easier for me to say "Hey, let me show you this match" to my bemused co-workers. (gomtv.net does not make it through our firewall at work.)

Yeah, I believe he's the first to make it to the Round of 8. Pretty sure Idra and Loner both got knocked out in the RO16 and nobody else has been past RO32.

IdrA also has Code S. I think he was 8th in the first season, I could be wrong, though http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...
seems like he went out in the ro32 in gsl1 and ro16 in gsl2.

You can usually look at the Code S rank chart on GomTV. Idra *does* have Code S purely on the strength of his repeat progress. He's accumulated just under 1400 points and anybody over 998 is set for Code S.

Getting to the RO8 earns you 1500 points, so Jinro is already ranked ahead of Idra, tied with SKS (Tester) and NaDa.

In pretty good company I'd say

There's also the official code S list at GomTV. They've got everything enumerated there in terms of who got how many points for doing what.
