Any of you fellas planning to play RIFT at release?

I saw the other thread, but it was locked. I applied for the beta and am waiting ... I'm not in any hurry since I realize I've been out and about on haitus for a while, so that's cool.

When it comes out though, I'll definately be playing it.

Hell yeah, I'll be in it from day one!

Unless some really bad reports come out of beta I would imagine i'll be there day 1.

Yah, this game would have to turn out to be so run of the mill in order for me to not get it day 1.

But with so many class combinations, I find it haard to believe that I won't find one of them very enjoyable.

A little birdie told me closed beta invites may have just gone out...

Sounds correct the beta starts Dec. 3rd

I'm in the beta...I want to try it out at least.

After spending the weekend with the beta - day one purchase. Very, very impressed.

I think the NDA has been lifted. I don't know whether its just the press NDA so I will hold off on commenting until I have confirmed its everyone's NDA.

Someone posted on Massively that they are going to give more points than 1 per level for a total of 51. If this is so, that will help tremendously at lower levels when you first get your second soul and have to decide whether you want to focus on one or are going to split your points between the 2 souls.

I loved, loved, loved my time with the beta. The extra points will be nice, but I would like to see them implement a way to see the skill trees (in game) prior to choosing. I thought the beta was rock solid and left me with a definite desire to play more.

I have been in the alpha for awhile now and I gotta tell ya, its the best MMO I have played in a long long time. It doesn't innovate all that much, but man the polish.......

Alpha is still under NDA.

That's correct. Only beta has lifted NDA.

Are all the soul choices available for each calling in the beta?

Edit. NDA has not been lifted for alpha. I revert to no comment

well just one minor thing that ius awesome in RIFT is the looting. If you have killed many enemies close to each other, when you loot one, it shows the inventory of all ~melee ranged corpses. Ten dead things lay at your feet? Loot once and get all their goodies!

IMO the game is same-ol same-ol. It's going to take something more innovative than this to get me to invest my time - I'm still holding out hope for Guild Wars 2. At least the game does seem competently made, I sense no oncoming train wreck, but it's gonna take more than this to stand out in the crowded MMO market. Just my two cents.

Agreed Acid, but for those like myself who are done with Wow and have no immediate MMOs releasing in the near future im glad to have something solid to play for now.

I think the multi classing is really what sets it apart. Tailoring your class with unique skill sets in a talent point system is very cool. If you could cross between archetypes that would be even better, but the game is rock solid and most of all fun. It has sucked up a lot of my gaming time and solidified itself as a day one purchase.

I actually dont agree at all. While the kill this do that stuff is fairly formulaic, the world is steeped in back story and there are some nifty spins on the traditional MMO stuff. I have been wanting even more since the last beta ended. The game really grabbed me from the start. The crafting is well done and useful from the start. The Soul Tree system really shines with the recent tweaks. I believe the game will have a lot of appeal to those looking for the next MMO. I am hoping for a nice strong following within GWJ so we can have a guild similar to the way we do in WoW.

If any are interested the details for the regular and collectors edition have been released. From MMOCRUNCH " A standard box pre-order will get you a free mount of your choice: a petrifying Cockatrice Chick, a devious Deep One Spawnling or a spunky Hellhound Pup. You also get an exclusive elemental weapon enchantment depending on which retailer you patronize.

Steam, for example, unlocks a Blazing Sourcestone Rune that imbues flame to your weapon and adds fire resistance to your stats. Other major stores like Amazon, Best Buy, Direct2Drive and Gamestop offer a different elemental weapon enchantment so just shop around based on convenience or your favorite Pokemon. (Pikachu fans, head to Gamestop for your electric fix!)

Meanwhile, when you pre-order the swankier Collector’s Edition box, you stand to get all the perks of the standard box plus more premium swag.

There’s the Ancient Tartagon Mount, a turtle mount that bucks its species’ sluggishness and lets you travel 60% faster at level 20. You’ll also be given a backpack-expanding Collector’s Satchel for storing more items while adventuring, and a Bogling Wastrel pet to serve as a lookout for those dangerous rifts that come out of nowhere.

As a Collector’s Edition owner, you also get customized gaming gear like a free 8GB USB drive and SteelSeries gaming mouse pad etched with Fire Rift art, both of which lets your parental units know they need to blame a new game for your insomnia.

The Rift CE rounds out the freebies with a bonus 17-track soundtrack CD and Telara Chronicles hardbound book, which is basically a compilation of the graphic novel miniseries explaining the story behind the game.

I am all over the CE from Amazon. Can't wait until release. The bag and the mount worth the extra, plus I can support a dev that is really active with the fan base.

Indeed I am all about supporting such an active Dev team. and the perks don't hurt either.

I think we need a new thread for those interested in day one and a guild. I think even a small group could be very productive within the game.

I am going to be playing day 1. I love this game.

Really wish I had remained ignorant of the existence of this game. Looks really good, but with Cataclysm who has the time?

Im in the same boat. I do like the CE and the perk to get in at 9.99 a month. I may sub this and try to balance time in both Cata and Rift. I will definitely be giving this time at launch though and see how long I can juggle my virtual worlds.

The more I read about it the more inclined I am to give it a shot. If you buy the CE you automatically get the 9.99 a month or do you have to opt in for the 6 month package for that?

Ok if there is enough interest I will generate a guild thread. I am a day one guy and would like to get the guild off and running when feasible. Even a small guild of 5-10 players can really get a lot from the game. Just post here for now if you are interested an Ascended with Jobs guild.

Spy quite a few of us are in Alpha and can't really talk about anything, but I will let you know we should have a decent amount of folks wanting to play at launch based on the guild we have on the alpha server.

I been playing beta so I am getting familiar with the game as well.

And don't forget release day isn't until march 1. So its not like the game is knocking down our door a week from now.

Absolutely, but I wanted to at least poll for interest.
